When is enough?
An organization created by a powerful individual has been formed for almost a year now. A coup is being planned in an army to overthrow the government. Throw in a rich brat from a very powerful family who hates his corrupt father and a spy hired by the government into the mix.
Just... how will this end?

rp name: Leonard Owens
age: 21
gender: male
bio: Owens grew up with an average family and an average life. But, when he'd turned eighteen, he had found out about the dirty tricks the government used on the people in the lower part of the triangle in society. The government had forced his family to pay more than they could for tax and to put the burden off of his family, he got himself into the military. It paid off the tax but that only fueled his want to destroy the government from the inside out. With his years of experience in his stay with the military, he'd created a group. He created a group where the people who joined him would be willing to unite with him and create a bond that strengthened the said group. Their goal is to make the government wish they hadn't done what they'd did.

Though there's a thick glass in between them, he wishes for him to be able to break it down one of these days and show the people what exactly his father is behind his facade of a kind and gentle old man who only wishes to "help" people.

Get in and make your way up slowly. Take your time and gain their trust. Then when you're able to move without seeming suspicious your mission begins.
Yeah that'd been the plan originally. Get in make it to the top and knock the corrupt government flat on its ass. Too bad it didn't go nearly as simple as the old man had planned. The old man hadn't counted on being caught early on and the old man hadn't thought twice about selling out an at the time 13 year old child to the military.
Odin sighed. He'd gotten lucky that the leader of the base he'd been stationed at had gotten him out of the trouble the old man had put him in. He owed his life to Owens who'd vouched that the boy had been an exemplary soldier and was hospitalized and kept unconscious at the time the base had been cut off from their power supply and an attempt was made at the government leaders assembled there to discuss whatever lame thing those money grabbing idiots wanted to discuss.
Of course he had been in the medical wing of the base at the time and he had been badly hurt, but he wasn't unconscious and far from uninvolved. He'd been given the job to cut the power while the old man sent in a team to do the killing part of the job. Odin had seen a million flaws in the plan before it started, but he had little choice in whether they went through with it or not. He didn't know where the old man was and couldn't care either. At the time he'd been worried about Max in his hidden lab who ran a lot of risks at the time. He didn't know why Owens had covered for him either, but he found out soon enough.
He still remembered the day he'd been recruited by Owens himself to join a coup d' etat group. The conversation had been interesting to say the least, but after consideration Odin found that it was the best option. Max would be safer if he accepted Owen's offer and well if Owens ever turned on them Odin knew he could easily solve that issue with what he'd hidden in his personal hiding spot. One of many secrets Owens didn't know about him.
"Hey Lowe! Yer getting a new roommate. Owens wants you in his office in an hour to greet the newbie and be his chaperon!" a mocking voice called from behind his locked door.
"Better get going...won't do to be late...Owens will be enough of a pain without my being late...let's go see the fresh meat. With any luck he won't be another dumbbell like the rest here." he sighed. Odin cared little for the idiots he was forced to form teams with at this base. It wasn't that he felt himself to be above them or something; he was just better than them. He was smarter then these blockheads. He was faster then them too and strong enough to hold his own against the best the base had to offer if he combined his best abilities namely his brains speed and the fact that he was of Asian decent and thus genetically determined to be permanently stuck at a 5"2 height. He'd been forced to prove this fact more then once and not because he wanted to really. Odin had more fights on his name than most other soldiers at the base, but he also held that record without having ever provoked a single one of them himself.
Odin got up and took his time to walk to the office. He even stopped by the mess-hall to grab lunch adding a few things for both the newbie and the commander as the former might not have had time for lunch and the former would probably have forgotten it.

"Strange that you're gracing us with your presence, Mr. Woodward. Is your father aware of what you're planning to do?"
Since a while ago, he had been chatting with this Woodward's one and only son, Chase, and he's learned a lot of things about the government's current activity with his replies. There are only as much that even he could learn with his position in the army. Even if he had already gained the trust of those sly and greedy bastards holding every inch of the city, there are still some things he can't indulge himself in. It were people like Chase, who were sons or daughters of them officials, that he could only learn so much more.
Especially about them owners of the fat wallets' weaknesses.
When he'd seen the male simply remain quiet, he smiled mostly in amusement. The male leaned back in his seat and lightly tapped the arm of his chair as he rested his elbow on the other side of the arm of the chair. He brought up his fingers to have his cheek rest on them lightly and he watched him with the kind of gaze that had him squirming a little uncomfortably in his seat. Though Owens didn't really mean it, he struck fear to those... unqualified in terms of power.
"I must remind you, Mr. Woodward, that you won't be an exception to how you'll be treated here. Your status outside of this barracks will not be put into consideration and that this isn't a playground." Chase looked straight at him and gave him a firm nod. Owens smiled at this. He liked the boy's determination but idly, he wondered just how long he'll be able to handle the life in the military. It isn't as easy as most people say it is. One has to earn and do a lot to get to the top. Especially to where he is now.
"If that's the case then, we'll just wait for Seargeant Lowe. He shall be your roommate and will be the one to guide you in your stay here." Woodward clicked his heels together and he'd planted his arms to his side before he'd given Owens a firm salute. Now, Leonard wondered how long Chase's father had let him stay in the military back when he was a kid. He knew his form. "At ease. Sit down and let's wait for him. Now... tell me more about your father and his position in the government."

"So...whatcha think. Owens gonna recruit the kid for the cause?" The voice that asked came from somewhere among the heaping pile of bits and parts of every little thing imaginable. Odin had more often then not wondered how his friend even knew where to find each little thing he needed; considering his little things were usually micro sized bit and dogads.
"Don't know. He might. Then again it depends on the kids. Well I'd best not keep Owens waiting too long." Odin said shaking his head. Just then a head of sandy colored hair popped up from among the bits and pieces. messy bangs fell over a single soft green eye. A black patch stood out in stark contrast to the pale skin of the youth. As he stood up from his search a lean toned body was revealed. His clothes consisted of an overall type of garment that was only half zipped up and had the sleeves rolled up. a pair of steel toed boots covered his feet and white cotton gloves covered his hands. his revealed toned chest showed more of his pale skin. A slender neck was encircled by what looked like a slightly charred rosary. Its silver crucifix blackened from heat and it's once crimson beads now more black then red.
"Off to collect the fresh meat huh?" the boy said smirking mischievously.
"Yep." Odin said before leaving with a wave over his shoulder.
Some 10 minutes later he emerged from the hidden lab and found himself leaning against the door of Owens' office.
"So this is the fresh meat I'm supposed to teach the ropes?" he asked carefully keeping his voice even as usual. Odin observed the new boy and quickly pulled up the boy's statistics before his minds eye cataloging what he saw with what he'd already found on the boy. They could definitely use one like this kid in their rebellion, but Odin wasn't about to risk exposure so soon. Unlike his late former superior he wasn't fool enough to trust people so easily as his first meeting with Owens had proven.
Odin still recalled that unique meeting between them. He'd been facing death by fire squad and Owens had gotten him released from his charges. Odin had been brought to meet the man. The conversation had been light until Odin received an answer as to why. Then he'd simply asked what kept him from turning Owens over to the government and collecting the reward money while holding Owens' own gun to the man's face loaded and ready to fire. He'd done what he needed to do. Max's life depended on him. He needed to be sure this man wouldn't betray him like the one who previously wanted him to do the dirty work.
He remained emotionless on the outside, but mentally he smirked at the memories.
"Word on the grounds is that they're betting on how long before he'll run home crying. You sure he's up to the challenge? This isn't a game." Odin said. The statement suiting perfectly to the situation thus it's true meaning wouldn't be expected. A question. There was a lot at stake for both Owens and himself. He needed to know what was to be expected. Should he just train him and let him loose on the missions he'd be receiving or should he gage the waters and see if the kid had deeper motives for joining the army? Important questions that needed answering.

Ten minutes was quite some time, at least this was the case in Owens' watch. He glanced at his wall clock when Odin had decided to show up and ask that question. It, obviously, caught Chase's attention because Owens could see the man's gaze on the said man leaning against the door of his office. "Yes," he replied curtly as he'd moved to catch Chase's gaze when they had moved back to him, "Officer Woodward Chase, this here is Captain Lowe Odin. He will be showing you the ways in the military. If you have any questions, you may direct it at him."
Chase clicked his shoes together again and gave Odin a firm salute. He waited 'til he was given the order to be at ease. It was Owens, though, who told him to relax and when the young man had, he gave a rather determined look towards Odin's way. "Yes sir!" he started as he'd nodded, "I'm up for any challenge, sir, as long as I prove my worth under your supervision, sir." The seriousness in the new recruit's eyes were unfathomed and Owens couldn't help but smile as he imagined what kind of face Chase was showing to Odin.
Hell, he was surprised himself when he saw that look in Chase's face.
"It looks like he'll just have to change the word on the grounds, Captain Lowe," Owens said with a rather teasing tone as he'd hidden from view his amused smile, "Please take care of him as you had with our other recruits. Though he may be something akin to royalty when he's outside this barracks, he's to be shown equality as our former recruits." He dropped the amused smile as he got up from his seat and looked from Chase to Odin.
"No one's an exception in this barracks. Is that understood, Officer Chase, Captain Lowe?"

"You should know by now I make no exceptions. He'll learn to pull his weight and if he thinks he'll get treated with silk gloves just because his pops has a fat enough wallet to feed him with a silver spoon then he's got another thing coming. If he can't keep up he'll be of no use. Let's see him survive his first day tomorrow. It's obstacle day tomorrow so we'll get to see what wood he's made of then." Odin said. It was the cold hard truth. Odin taught the recruits as he was taught since he was old enough to walk on two feet and hold a gun. No one ever went easy on him just because he was a child at the time.
"Oh right message from number 2 next time bring a present to the party." Odin said. Another seemingly harmless joke of which the message was that Max wanted to be resupplied with more junk. The insomniac mechanic was easily bored and especially Owens knew that a bored Max was a danger to the entire base despite his pranks being harmless.
"I suggest you bring it. We don't want number 2 to be disappointed." Odin said his voice promising much trouble for his superior if Max were to go on another prank spree. Yes Odin had not been happy to find his hair dyed pink one day, though the prank Max had pulled on Owens in his night time boredom without further machines in need of maintenance or repairs had been most amusing; for Odin, not for Owens.
"Come on your highness I'll show you your suite." Odin said pushing away from the door not waiting to find out if Chase followed him.

Owens nodded at that Odin had said. That was true and that proved to be true, especially, when most of the new recruits that had gone through him was halved by the man's supervision. But, at least, the recruits were tested well enough to know their strengths, weaknesses and most especially their limits. "A... present?" The superior's brows rose just a bit as he'd registered the words in his head and felt his lips turn up into a thin line. The look of disapproval took over his features as Chase watched the exchange between the two.
Who was... number 2?
"I will..." Owens trailed off as he'd cleared his throat and realized just how his voice had taken on a certain tone. If he were alone with Odin, he wouldn't have minded but with someone in a lower class than that of Odin, it was a different story. "I will have it brought to him right away," he said to the captain with a nod before he'd given Chase a stern look that had the younger male quickly look away. As much as Owens praised Max for the work he does for him, he honestly didn't like the pranks the male did when he was not pleased.
If Odin had his hair dyed pink, Owens, on the other hand, had found bits and pieces of metal under his bed covers (it was why his whole body was aching like hell) and in his toothpaste. Talk about having to go to the dentist after that and get himself to a spa salon to have to rid his body of the aches. Once the two had left, Owens brought up his hand to take his hat off. He put it on the table for a moment and dropped back down in his seat.
Owens better do what Odin was telling him unless the boy would go in a rampage and cause trouble in the barracks.
Reaching out for the phone, he called for a man outside who gave him the junk Max needed. He's been supplying them for a few years now ever since Odin had joined the military and his coup with his ever loyal but crazy mechanic, Max Long. He's yet to hear the story behind the patch and the personality, but he's never really set aside time considering every single day was a busy day for him.
Chase followed Odin through the hallways and he silently watched the man's back. "Captain," he started, "Are we allowed to train even though it's not obstacle day?" Chase did plan to work out after all should he get the chance to.

"Train on the obstacle course? They're not set up until the morning we use them. Even I don't know what the configuration will be. To keep it fair. Pay attention if you miss something you'll be finding out on your own. This is all off-limits. Offices for the big bosses to meet in. The usual stuff desks computer chairs water dispenser." Odin said motioning to the halls around them as they headed for the elevator. He waited for Chase to get on.
"Next lesson. We're on the top floor now number 4. Third floor technical labs, stuff is invented and occasionally blown up there. Second floor, med lab and hospital floor. If you lose a limb that's the place to get yourself patched up. First floor indoor training facility for the recruits. Includes an Olympic pool, a weight room, a gym, a dojo and other training rooms decorated as suited by different combat styles. 0 is for the basement, if you survive the first two months you might find out what's in there. Barracks are behind this building across from the training grounds. Training grounds include obstacle course, track area, soccer, baseball and basketball fields for entertainment. That white building on the left is where you can go out. It's got a disco movie-theater and other fun going out places inside it. So you won't have to go off base for entertainment. One too many fights with the locals brought a need for...better arrangements." Odin said as he kept up a killer pace without ever running. He also didn't look behind him again not caring if Chase could keep up it seemed. All along the way older recruits and soldiers greeted the two and some even expressed their wishes of good luck to the newbie having been under Odin's care when they were the newbies. Odin quickly reached the barracks and waited a moment only for Chase to catch up.
"The barracks. You'll find two men to a room for obvious reasons. The communal shower facility is found at the end of the hall on each floor. Get a move on Your Highness We're going all the way up to the 8th floor and this building has no elevator." Odin said smirking coldly. He pushed open the door that led to the central staircase which wound up through the center of the building all the way up to the 8th floor. No elevator had been put in the barracks building forcing the recruits tired as they were from training to begin and end their regime with a climb up the stairs as the first two floors were storage areas where their belongings could be stored during their stay on the base. This forced all recruits to have to go up at least 4 flights of stairs. Odin even on the stairs kept up his brutal page without seeming to run or sounding out of breath. His mind was divided on several tasks at once. Outlines for tomorrows training, a mission he had to check on when he got his laptop and some alone time, his schedule for the day, to finish his check up and of course how Chase was doing so far.

Chase looked obviously bummed. Not only that, he was pretty used to training his body so to be hearing that the obstacle course would only be set up by tomorrow gave him all the more more thrill. Noting the other's words and nodding at that, he followed him into the elevator and frowned when Odin had started to talk a... lot.
Notebooks should be given to them while they were in their superior's office. Don't they have a handbook or a guide book or something for them to know all these things before they stepped into the barracks? At the words 'weight room' and 'gym', he felt his eyes wide widen a bit and his look brighten. Now, that was more like it. He'll be sure to check out the place soon. How soon, though, he'd have to ask. "With the entertainment talk all pushed aside, what time are the facilities for the indoor training open and closed? Or are they 24/7?" Chase was a little surprised at the killer pace. He had to literally jog once in a while or even sprint to have to catch up wtih the other.
Nodding at the other's words, he gave a little scowl at the words 'Your Highness' and grumbled, "I'd rather be called by my name, sir." Missing the cold smirk, he felt his blood run cold at the sight of the central staircase. Odin and Owens sure wasn't kidding when they'd said this place wasn't a playground. Panting a little now when he'd reached the third flight of stairs, he grasped at the rails for a moment and tried to catch his breath as he looked up at Odin climbing up at it like it was nothing. Mentally slapping himself awake, he continued to go up until he'd reached the floor Odin seemed to have disappeared to and held onto the wall. Damn were his legs shaking then. He was used to training his upper body but not running or climbing up. He better work on that then if he wanted to survive in here.

"Training facilities are open during training hours. You'll find out quite quickly you don't even want to train after hours. I've had hardened warriors coming in here asking the same thing. When push came to shove they were too glad to be able to fall down on their beds. Hope you're an early riser Majesty reveille is at 0500 followed by calisthenics and obstacle course. breakfast is at 0800 and if you want to get a chance to dive into the shower you'll make sure to finish your food quickly. at 0830 you'll be doing training as per the schedule set up for you after your preliminary assessment. For you this means you'll be on the treadmill until 1100 followed by another hour of calisthenics and group classes. You'll learn a thing or two there, but due to your late arrival I'll have to first catch you up in a few classes tonight. At 1700 there will be time for dinner. After dinner you work in groups planning missions you are given to plan which are not real missions, but will prepare you for the real deal and that's your Monday to friday schedule. If you think that's tough well I don't really care and you'll hate me come the weekend. I do hope your old man at least had you attend boyscout meetings otherwise well rest assured we'll send a team to come find you if your lost. If I remember to send out that team of course. Hurry it up will you." Odin said leaning against the wall of the eighth floor waiting for the other boy to catch up while scribbling down what his brief track had already showed the boy needed. When he saw Chase reach the staircase he was looking down he pushed away from the wall and got walking again.
"Dun worry kid. He's just pulling yer leg. About forgetting that is. Training schedule is really that grussome, but he dun let ya do sumthin if he ain't 100% sure ya can do it and he never asks of ya what he can't do himself. Yer rooming with him so yer gonna find him in 819 number's on the doors." A gruff looking recruit said as he was on his way down and passed Chase catching the tail-end of Captain Lowe's talk.
Odin was already seated on his bed waiting for the kid to arrive. He knew the other recruit would give Chase the room number. He had already pulled out his trusty laptop and was typing up a report on Chase among other things.
"So you think he'll be cut out for it?" Max's voice was heard along with tinkering noises. His new toys had arrived right on time as per usual.
"Military? Probably. Ours not yet. He's got a long way to go and he's not getting off the hook till I'm certain he's not another one of those idiots that just blindly follows orders and kills whoever he'll be told to kill. Stay out of trouble number 2." Odin said shutting off the vid window the moment he heard Chase coming down the hall. He had already laid out the standard issued gun and a dummy bomb on the boy's bed. He'd have to pull an all nighter to make sure the kid wouldn't get himself killed during class.

Chase's first thought, honestly, was that Odin was staying for far too long in the military to be speaking so fast and so... firm. Hell, he didn't think Owens would even want to talk so much like that and just hand him over the schedule. "Yes sir!," he started before he'd inhaled and exhaled big, long breaths while he continued to keep his hand on the wall. When he'd looked up, though, again, he saw that Odin had disappeared and he momentarily thought about what to do and remember, too, the information disseminated to him.
0500. Reveille, calisthenics and obstacle course.
0800. Breakfast.
0830. Training on the treadmill.
1100. Calisthenics and group classes.
He paused a moment and frowned. I'll be taking... a few classes tonight? he thought as he'd remembered the time for dinner, too.
1700. Dinner and plan missions in groups.
"Did that mean no sleeping tonight?" he asked himself as he jumped a bit when he'd turned to look at the recruit. A gruff looking at that that had him blinking up at him. "Err... thanks," he said with a small smile before he'd noted the room. 819. It took him a while to find it since he had to surf through the halls of the barracks but when he had, he'd paused a moment by the door and idly stepped into the room as he'd shut the door behind him.
"Sir, you meant extra classes tonight, right?" he asked as he headed to what he assumed was his bed since the other was on the other one. Looking down at the gun and what seemed to be a dummy bomb, he swallowed tightly and inwardly groaned. Did this mean, too, that he wasn't going to be getting any sleep?
- - -
"You should listen to Lowe," Owens said as he went into the room only Odin and he knew about. Max was put here to bring him out of harms' way. That, and no one had to know about Max Long living in here. He'd made that little barter with Odin, after all, after he'd saved the man's ass from being shot dead. "It wouldn't be good to have you be seen by a new recruit nonetheless."
Pausing for a moment as he came over to the number of crates piled up at one corner and at the mess that seemed to lie around it. "I only came here to check if they had been properly delivered," he said as he'd moved again to stand by Max's side, "You're not one to sleep much, are you, Long?"

"Yes tonight. If you learn quick enough then you might even get a few hours of sleep." Odin said getting up and picking up the gun.
"I hope for you that you know what these are and basically what they're used for. Now pay attention. Guns 101 assembly and disassembly. Look closely you'll be assembling and disassembling this thing until I'm satisfied you know what you're doing. Most guns you'll work with will have almost the same method of assembly and disassembly. The other recruits already know how to do this and how to use one. Same with the dummy bomb. Till you know how it works and how to stop it you're not getting any sleep. You can hate me for it now, but it might just safe your life one day." Odin said very slowly showing Chase how to check the gun and disassemble it and then cleaning it very methodically and slowly watching the boy rather then his work. He'd disassembled guns until he could practically do it in his sleep when he wasn't even old enough to understand what death really meant.
"If you're going to talk about us say it loud enough for us all to hear or get a room Ladies!" he called easilly able to tell the other recruits were talking about the new kid and how Odin would run him ragged on the first day.
"Noway sir! I'd pay for it during hand to hand and it wouldn't be pretty." came the cheerful call from outside the room followed by a few here-here's.
"Now did you pay close attention? You try." Odin said once he finished reassembling the cleaned gun and readying it to shoot to make sure everything worked right before putting the safety back on and tossing it to Chase.
"Someone once said you're only ever in trouble if they get you AND can prove you actually did it." Max said with a playful grin. He sat amidst the heaps of junk and crates of malfunctioning devices and happily tinkered away to fix them.
"I believe that insomnia usually means one doesn't sleep at all. As for me; I haven't slept since I was 7." he said smartly adding the last bit more subdued and quietly. Max didn't like to talk about the past. It hurt. He never told anyone, but Odin how Howie ever came across him. Those were dark times in his life. Times he knew Owens probably didn't understand. That did make him wonder why Owens ever became the head of the coup d' etat. What had the government taken from the man to leave him wanting it gone?

Chase's eyes were glued on the other's hands and the way the gun was disassembled and clean. He had to say, he'd never touched a gun and that seemed easy. All he needed to do was follow how he did that, right? Blinking at the other calling out to the door and the recruits returning that with something rather smart-assed, he found himself chuckling a little before he'd nodded at hte question. "I'll do my best," was his reply as he caught the gun and noted how the other had put the safety on before tossing it to him.
He looked at the gun for a moment and examined it before he'd nodded once. He then started to disassemble it. Despite how he looked, he was a quick learner and he got to re-assemble the gun, too, when he remembered how he'd disassembled it. Surely, the ways were the same, right? "That works, right?" he asked as he'd put the safety on, too, and grinned at Odin.
- - -
"That may be true, but there's also the sly way of proving. Evidences that shouldn't exist... exists," he said with a sigh before he'd watched him happily tinkering away on the devices. Though he may not say it out loud, the other sure had an odd personality and he found himself smiling slightly in amusement. Max, in this way, acted much like a kid.
Owens turned to look at Max and he'd shaken his head at that. It was no wonder, then, that Max looked awfully quirky and... strange, for the lack of a better term. "Well, if you need anything else, you should try being discrete telling Odin what you need. I'll be off then." The superior tipped his hat a little, "Good night, Long."

"Good at least you won't kill yourself with that. We'll move on to the basic bombs that I've had the rest of your peers go over the past few weeks. We'll see after that how much you managed to remember on the gun. Watch closely and listen. This will be hard to do if you don't pay attention." Odin said he once again slowly and clearly showed and explained how to build the bomb and in which order the wires needed to be removed or cut to disable the device.
"And that's how to do it without killing yourself. We'll need to catch you up on this one. I'll be teaching the others about road bombs and land mines next class. That should be fun. At least you lot don't need to know about time triggered bombs or chemical ones or time released gas bombs. You just need to know how to identify them and to call the bomb squad and get your ass the hell outta there." Odin said. All the while he worked his voice was calm and filled with determination as opposed to the cold clipped tone of voice he'd held earlier. His behavior too contradicted his earlier self. He went to stand behind Chase and watched him work. The bomb was easy to make, but dismantling it wasn't as simple as jostling any of the wrong wires would set it off if it had been real. The dummy instead would belt out a loud explosion style noise followed by a robotic voice which cried 'you're dead' over and over. Odin still remembered working with these for the first time himself and how annoyed he was. The old man hadn't been too happy when he found his dummy bomb returned with its voice box forcefully ripped out and a note saying the thing got annoying.
"Evidence only exists if you leave it sir. It's a matter of making sure no part of you leaves anything. My reputation or rather the one they would love to pin on me speaks volumes I'd say." Max said looking up. His single green eye gleamed in the light of the dim only light source in the room. His face showing hints of the true person behind the cheerful boy's facade. Everyone who knew Long at one point or another had heard of the military base that had been sent into chaos by an unknown source. No one ever found out, but the one guy that stayed alive long enough had deliriously babbled about a demon of sorts. Only Odin knew though. He'd been the only one Max ever told the true reason for his reputation. Not that it mattered now. Max was dead to the world only 2 people knew he lived.
"I'm always discrete. Besides in the ten or more years I've known that guy no one ever discovered what we really told one another. Best way to hide a message is by talking about things they expect someone to talk about. School stuff or parties in our case. It works purely because Odin makes it work. If you got more stuff that needs fixing have it brought to the usual place and it'll be fix come morning. By the way you should visit more often. You spent way too much time in that office for someone who's not forced to live in hiding quite possibly the rest of his life. All work and no play and all that. It's Max and goodnight." Max said. He didn't like formality.

Chase nodded and he'd moved closer to watch Odin clearly explain and show to him how to build the bomb. That, and the wires. That's a lot of wires, though, he thought as he'd frowned a bit as he tried to remember the said wires. It was a little difficult but nothing his memory spared him.
"Won't it be hard to figure out what kind of bomb it is with a time limit?" he asked before he'd glanced over at Odin and started to work on the bomb when he was given the chance to. Indeed, he took his time dismantling it as he checked which wires was which and recalled the crash course Odin had given him not very long ago. Though he took his time, he managed to dismantle it without setting it off. "Sir, what would happen if I had done the wrong wire?" he asked as he'd blinked and looked up at him. He was currently crouching by his bed, pliers in hand.
- - -
Owens stopped at his hand wrapping around the knob of the door. He found himself smiling a little in amusement at the other's words. "I am pretty much in hiding since I've made this group," he said as he'd turned to look at Max and let his amused smile turn to a gentle one, "Good night then, Max." This time, he didn't stop. He left the room and put back the wall to hide the secret door. There were only three people who knew how to work that out. The other members of the coup, who were still countable by hand, didn't know about the existence of Max Long.
Not that they should know.
If information were to leak out about Owens keeping Long alive, he'd be suspicious and he'd have to halt the oncoming coup he was planning to have happen in a few weeks time. He needed just a bit more of preparation and make sure to draw back once his coup would start to shake the foundations of the government. Some inside job not only in the military but in the government was something he planned to do.
With money, he made the world go round.

"BOOM!!! Would seem a logical conclusion. Though which wire you cute determines how fast it goes boom. Also each different type of bomb has it's own configuration. Touch sensitive ones you can tell apart by the way it looks it's the only bomb with sensors on it. There are a few who look the same on the outside, but have different wire color combinations on the inside which tell you what it will do. Usually your orders will be call the bomb-squad and get the hell outta there." Odin said putting the bomb away and tossing him the gun.
"Once more apart and back together. If you can I think we're done for tonight. Then you best rest up. Track will be interesting to say the least." he said walking to his own side of the room and taking off his shirt. he'd turned to his bed exposing his back to the other boy. As the shirt came off an odd shaped scar appeared like someone has spilled milk on his tan skin and it spilled out. Odin soon turned around and sat down to watch Chase take apart the gun one last time. his chest was smooth it seemed, but closer inspection showed small very small scar marks in several places. They stood out pale against his seemingly suntanned skin
"Night Leonard." Max said grinning. He smiled when the door firmly closed and returned to the little surprise he'd been working on. It'd taken him quite some time and some favors of Odin's to accomplish, but he'd managed to find out what type of vehicle Owens favored and with that knowledge tucked away in the pocket of his overall he had gone to work on custom building one for the man. It was almost completely finished and needed only the finishing touches still. It was a pet project of his that he'd been working on a while now. It would be a fast machine and look like the one Odin managed to find out Owens loved to own some day.

The other's outcry of a 'Boom!' made Chase's heart jump in fear and he stumbled back onto the floor with his arm and hand clutching at the bed. Like a student to a teacher, Chase's ears were open as he lsitened to Odin speak and he let out a short, "How'll you know what type of bomb it is with their wires all mixed up?" as he'd regained his bearings.
When he had, he clumsily caught the gun and watched Odin for a while as the captain took off his shirt. It was a strange wound, he thought, the one he saw at the other's back but he didn't say anything about it nor did he comment on the small scars on the man's chest. At least, he didn't think he had any say on it considering he was a newbie on the grounds. He quickly moved his attention to the gun and he took them apart. This time, though, he seemed to have forgotten to take the bullets out. He'd only realized it when he'd picked it up and observed it. "Ahh... shit," he cursed under his breath as he made a face and looked back up at the other, "I missed the bullets, Sir."
- - -
If Owens was aware of what Max's pet project, he'd be stunned and definitely speechless. That, too, didn't happen often. Usually, the man had a say with usual things but surprise was an emotion he's yet to have control of. Especially, if they were the kind of surprise that came from the people around him. Taking the phone in his room after locking up his door, he took off his hat and put it down onto the table. He put someone on speed dial and waited for the man in the other line to answer.
"Johns here. Speaking?"
"Leo."
Owens never used his real name out in the open. He also never bothered telling those part of the coup his first name and just that they call him Leo. "I'm going to need some of your time tomorrow, Johns. Will you be available after dinner?" As he asked this question, there seemed to be some shuffling sounds in the other line. He also added, "This is urgent regarding the ANC-11 incident." A ploy just to keep those who are listening to his phone calls. The ANC-11 incident was a bombing incident that had happened back in the nineteen twenties. The culprits haven't been all caught yet. The one Owens was currently talking to was one of the guys who was behind it all.
He supposed that if he was going to do this coup, he was going to do it right. "I'll call you. Please prepare the information to be mailed to Mr. Owens."

"Because bomb makers are color coordinated. There's a wire color code for each bomb besides as I said earlier with most bombs you will be able to tell by a glance what the type is. You'll learn all that later though." Odin said. He got up when Chase seemed lost on how to get the bullet clip out. Odin simply took the disassembled handle of the gun that still held the bullet clip and gave it a firm tap causing the clip to let go.
"And next time don't forget them. Incidentally when you apprehend an opponent's gun you'll want to put the safety back on click the bullet clip out and kick said clip in a random direction away from your person. Bullets are only dangerous when they're in the gun so you'll want to keep your enemy from being able to shoot the second he gets his gun back. Same goes for during a struggle. remove the clip which is in this case done by pushing the little clip release button and make sure the bullets are out of the way a good distance. That way your opponent will need to either reload or search for the bullets. When it's back together and the safety's on put it in your locker and get to sleep." he added watching Chase work a second longer before kicking off his boots and taking off his socks. He then sat down on the bed back against the headrest and wall. He crossed his arms and closed his eyes. This was his usual sleeping position. He'd sit like that and sleep; not waking for any sound not associated with danger.
================================================== =======
"Done!" Max said grinning happily. He'd put the finishing touched on his little thank you to the good commander. It'd taken him the better part of the night, but it was done. Next came the fun part. To Max at least. He brought the machine to the right hangar and parked it there. He then snuck into the base. He carefully kept out of sight and slipped into Owen's private quarters. He grinned as he slipped the note he'd quickly written and signed nr2 onto the desk while the commander was on the phone and was out of the room before the conversation ended.
"Ah, that was a good outing. Now to get back to work on the real business and wait. I always hate that part. It's boring." Max said stretching his muscles. He'd over the span of the night gone and unzipped his overall and tied the top half around his waist because he was sweating.
He sighed softly staring in the reflective surface of a piece of something or another. Slowly he removed the black eye-patch to reveal the forever closed eye underneath. The skin covering surrounding his eye and of his eyelid was heavily burned the scar forever robbing him of his sight from that eye. He quickly placed the patch back over it. His other eye sported a lense to compensate for the damage it suffered from smoke and heat. He smiled sadly. Thanks to Owens he was still alive. Though he'd already had the patch and several other burn scars at the time. Owens had gone out of his way to keep the military from killing him; had taken a big risk in offering to do it himself and sneaking him out of the building. Of course Odin made sure that no one remained alive that knew of it. There was one thing Owens didn't know though. Odin's true reason for wanting the young mechanic alive wasn't just because they were friends or because he was good, but also because without Max's help Odin would be unable to do what he did for a living; thanks to the old man's parting gift.
"Wonder what he'll say about his gift." Max said to himself grinning happily as he returned to his tinkering and fixed several more things that had been brought to him broken.

Chase watched with amazement how the other had done that. It seemed he'd missed it. He was supposed to take the bullets off first before he disassembled the gun. "Yes sir," he said with a firm salute and grinned at the other. Putting the gun back together again and loading the bullets last when the gun was whole, he put the safety on and put it on the bedside table. Unknown to him, his eyes were moving towards Odin who was already asleep on a... sitting position.
Strange guy, he thought as he'd bent down to untie his shoes. "But cool," he mumbled under his breath as he'd smiled a little to himself. Despite the other calling him princess, he seemed like a pretty cool guy. That, and he idly wondered where the other had gotten that scar of his on his back. He'd seen it for just a moment and it had sparked his curiosity. It reminded him of his grandfather's body - a body that had gone through the World War II.
"Night, captain Odin," he said again right after he'd gotten rid of his top to be only left wearing his white tank top and his pants. He'd also taken off his belt so it wouldn't bother him when he rolled in his sleep. At least, with much sleep he could get at almost two o'clock in the morning.
0500. He had to remember that time. As soon as his head hit the pillow, though, exhaustion took over and he'd fallen into slumber.
- - -
It was about two in the morning when Owens had finished his call and he had just started to undo his button-up uniform when he'd seen the note. Raising a brow, he wondered who that was from considering no one had the balls to get into his room. Nr2, he thought before he'd tilted his head a little, Max? Blinking for a moment, he noted the word 'important' in the note and grunted as he'd taken off his top uniform to leave himself bare naked halfway up. He had a couple of scars on his back and on his arms and quite an ugly one on his left breast. It looked like the skin had been marred with what seemed to be the effects of an explosion.
Running his fingers over the rough patch of deformed skin just made him remember what he had to go through to get to where he was. I better get changed and see what this is. I need some shut eye. Slipping on a black, slightly loose shirt, he left his quarters and headed to the base where he saw a... car. A car that he liked, too. "How did he..." he trailed off as his eyes continued widen. His mind whirled for a moment and he quickly made his way towards Long's room. Just in time, he saw the other looking at what's under the patch and he made a face at that. "Looking at yourself in the mirror like that won't bring your eye back," he started before he'd pursed his lips a little and looked off to the side. That wasn't what he was supposed to be saying.
"Thank you. For the vehicle," he said, a little more than embarrassed to be saying such words, "But... I don't see myself using it considering I don't go out of the base." He smiled a little in amusement and turned his gaze back at Max.
"So, this was what you meant by I should go out often by giving me an automobile you created from scrap?"

At 4:15 precisely Odin's head shot up. He breathed raggedly, but remained quiet. He slipped out of the bed quietly. Noting the gun on the table he shook his head and tossed it into Chase's bedside footlocker before heading out the room. He'd not bothered to put on a shirt as he headed for the gym. It was after hours, but Odin had clearance to be there, the base personnel had found it to be...safer if Odin let out his stress on the equipment rather then actual people.
In the gym he headed straight for the mats and after a brief warm-up he set to doing a very rigorous training schedule. He started with sit up and push ups and worked his way toward the punching back and hand to hand combat forms. As he got to work on the punching bag his moves became more and more focused. His kicks and punches methodical and accurate to a fault; the strength behind each blow increasing as thoughts rushed through his mind and he worked off the stress his most recent set of nightmares had brought.
"Unacceptable..."
"...accident!"
"...the tank!"
Endlessly the words echoed through his mind and fueled his punches and kicks.
"...Doubtful he'll make it..."
"Fix him..."
"AAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! !"
His eyes glazed over as he slipped into his memories more. He continued to kick and punch the bag which was slowly beginning to strain under the endless rain of attacks.
================================================== ================================================== ==============
"If I wanted it back I would've taken the surgery years ago. I look to remember why; why I lost it, why I'm here, why I'm hiding, what I'm doing this for." Max said calmly as he picked up another piece of broken equipment.
"Do these idiots even know how to properly use these things? I swear half this shit woulda never broke if they just read the effin user manuals friggin macho pigs..." Max muttered shaking his head as he got to fixing it.
"Why keep cooped up in this place? You're a free man after all. No one but me n number 1 know the truth. Nothing's forcing you to never leave the base. I figured the car would both be a good reason for you to indulge for once and a nice way to say thanks." he said not looking up from the very delicate work. The device in his hand sparked up and he cursed softly dropping it and rubbing his hand.
"Well that saves me locating the problem at least...friggin assholes...brainless twits twirling around sensitive equipment like bats n they have the gal to wonder why everything breaks." Max hissed he looked put out which on him looked very comical.

Chase stirred at the sound of the gun being thrown into somewhere and he cracked an eye open to see Odin walk out of the room. At least, he didn't think it'd be anyone else considering the only light that was in the room was from the hallway. All he could see what Odin's silhouette. Groaning a little, he moved his arms up to hug the pillow and frowned as he looked at the time. Four... sixteen? he asked to no one in particular and made a face, Do the people here not sleep at all?
Shifting a little and rolling out of bed, he caught himself with his feet and walked on over to the switch to turn it on. Odin's clothes were still on the bed, he'd noticed and he frowned a little. Did the other leave the place without bringing spare clothes? And, could he already go wash up so he didn't have to later at 8? He might as well ask and bring Odin his shirt. The other would surely not want to prance around half naked as good as his body was.
Chase yawned widely again and he grabbed Odin's clothes on the bed before getting out. The first place he decided to check out was the training room. As he'd expected, he was there and he didn't look too happy while he made the punching bag suffer. "If that was a real person, he'd be dead by now," he said as he'd leaned against the frame to the entrance of the training room. There were bags under his eyes but it isn't new and he brought up his free hand to have it run through his still messy hair.
- - -
Owens smirked slightly at the mechanic's reply. "Why, I've never thought you're one to walk down memory lane, Max," he said teasingly before he'd walked over to see what item he's fixing. Upon hearing what the other had said about him and his way of life, he gave a small smile at that. "That so?" he asked as he'd nodded, "Then... I might consider it."
Blinking a little at the look that was comical on Max's face, he found himself laughing. "I'll remember to remind them to... read the manual." He reached out to pat Max's back lightly and he smiled again. "I better go. Thank you for bearing with my men, Max." With that, he'd left again to take a short nap. He had to get to his office in a bit, after all.

A sharp knife embedded itself in the wood of the door post just mere millimeters from Chase's head before the boy finished speaking. The punching back gave out bursting at the seams under the strength of the last punch.
"No one ever tell you not to do that? It could cost you your head. Make a noise a good ways down the hall if you want to live long enough to become a man." Odin said calmly. His eyes were no longer glazed over. He rubbed his left arm subconsciously before bending over and cleaning up the mess he'd made. He dropped the broken bag in the disposal chute and made a note on the white list that hung beside the equipment rack before taking out a new bag and hanging it up.
"Go back to your barrack. You're not permitted to be here at this time. Study up on what I showed you or take an early shower." Odin said quietly now. He headed to the back of the gym and got started on his cool down work outs. He moved slowly ignoring the other's presence after having told him to go and focusing on the moves he made. Slow and precise, focused and controlled. As he went through each form with the same determined precision he slowly decreased his field of movement giving himself less room within which to fight and increasing the difficulty of executing the techniques. His eyes glazed over again, but this time his mind worked on the ever popular question of what obstacle course Owens had prepared for them.
Odin had early on realized that the trainees would always demand that he was forcing them to do things he couldn't himself. He even predicted the obvious complaint of his having set up the course thus knowing before hand and being able to practice it. He had quickly found a simple solution. He just let someone else set up the course and let Owens plot it out to what he thought might be a good challenge for his men as well as for Odin. Odin enjoyed shutting up those idiots by proving that he didn't get his job by sucking up to the base commander, but earned it simply because he knew what he was doing and how to teach others to do it as well. Odin was very thankful that their new recruit AKA fresh meat as everyone would continue to call Chase for some time still had at least not been another all muscle and no brained idiot who thought they would be getting some easy money. Their first order of business was usually to try and take on their captain.
It didn't help of course that Odin's Asian heritage made that he was with 5"4 the smallest of the base's captains. It also didn't help his case any that he truly looked like he was no more then 16 and easily pushed around. Only the senior recruits who'd been there when Odin first had to prove his prowess as a soldier were smart enough not to question him. All the other ones just were either too stupid or had a death wish or some such as they kept trying to get Odin to fight them, which wasn't exactly a smart move by anyone's book as it usually landed most of them up in the medical wing.
"You'll be late for reveille if you don't get a move on. It starts in 20 minutes and you need to go back up 8 floors and then down again on foot." Odin called mockingly as he noticed Chase had yet to move.
================================================== =======
"I don't bear with your men. I bear with idiots. If they were your men they'd know not to use these things as baseball bats." Picking the device back up and starting on its repairs.

Chase didn't get to have his hand run all the way through his hair what with finding a sharp knife not to far off from his head. That, and his eyes had widened with the realization of the knife almost killing him and the punching bag bursting under the strength of his captain's punch. Whoa. Shit. I can't even pack a punch like that, he thought before he'd finally relaxed - though just a tad - and blinked.
Didn't he make a...
No, he couldn't have. Chase never was the type to make a noise, not even at home. It came with the years of having to observe his old man while he did his deals at home, in his home office, or if he came to visit his father. He couldn't just suddenly 'make a noise'. That'd sound like thumping to him or maybe even worst, he'd be stomping with his every step. That's just absurd.
When the other had suddenly said those words, he took on the option of taking an early shower and was just about to go leave when his hand had grasped tightly at something in his hand. Clothes. One he remembered he'd brought from the room and from Odin's bed. He hung the said clothes on the knife and gave his captain a firm salute right after saying, "See you later then, captain, and thank you." His boots weren't making any sound when he left, yet again. The first place Chase headed for was the showers before the reveille.
- - -
Owens wasn't sure if Max was trying to flatter him or insult the platoons under Odin and the other captains' care but he didn't give it much thought and simply smiled in amusement as he made his way to his room. He was used to sleeping for just a few hours or a couple of minutes. It wasn't like this'd be his first time. After all, when one joins the military, the lack of sleep's always a part of the routine.
That, and he had to see Chase do the obstacle course, too. He can't miss the newbie's first day in the military, after all, even if he had to watch him from afar through the hidden cameras set-up in the whole base.
