So lately, I've been stuck in a rut for quite a while.
Mostly from annoyances at school and what not.

But then it clearly came to me..while I was listening to Revolution.
Quote:
But if you want money for
people with minds that hate
All I can tell you brother, is that you have to wait

My whole mindset was just thrown off into a different direction.
The Beatles usually change my bad mood into a good one.
I think it's probably because most of their songs are really uplifting.
And most of the stuff, I listen to is in the opposite direction.

What song makes you feel better?
What band really shifts your moods?

3oh!3 usually makes me feel better just because they're hilarious and I love their beats. Also...I'm a Coloradan, so I both understand the origin of their name and a lot of where their lyrics came from.

My favorite lyrics being:
Quote:
T-tell your boyfriend if he says he's got beef,
That I'm a vegetarian and I ain't fucking scared of him.
Lol. It's a Colorado thing to love that so much. Especially when you know they're from Boulder. XD

A band that really effects me...but not in a good way...is Evanescence. Their music used to be my favorite, but now I realize how depressing it is and that I was a little screwed up and trying to follow the crowd when I was listening to it. I now hate it.

Music is so very powerful it certainly pays to be self aware when you are listening to it...

I agree, awesome vocals and music but way too depressing for me too. I listen to some good old vinyard worship, or Hillsong when I'm feeling like I need a lift, or a better perspective. I still love a bit of Queen when I'm feeling loud (and I'm alone! :D)

@ Fate- LOL. That song cracks me up. xD I didn't know, they were from Colorado.

@Carzeemumbear - Yeah, Evanescence is really depressing. But it hits a right note when you're in a depressing mood. xD

I mostly prefer solemn sounding music or upbeat carefree kinds of music, but once in a while when I feel like I want to beat something up I listen to these three (I have others, but these are my most recent picks and just well.. memorable for me):

YouTube - Deftones Elite
YouTube - Sucker Punch (OST) - 02 - Army of Me [Sucker Punch Remix] - Björk (feat. Skunk Anansie)
YouTube - Refused - "New Noise" Burning Heart Records

GWAR gets me in the mood to party and get completely shitfaced. Ill Nino can make me lose my shit completely (in a good way), cry, or get ready to kick some serious ass.

What song makes you feel better?

'Sweet Transvestite' sung by Tim Curry from the Rocky Horror Picture show!
Whenever that song comes on I can't help but smile and start singing along! I think it's a mix between the way it's sung and the music that it's sung to. Oh! and the lyrics are brilliant too of course!
It's also a good song to be walking down the street to, personally it just puts me in a good mood.

What band really shifts your moods?

Madness. Their songs change my mood instantly! Usually to happy and slightly silly.
Though different songs from different bands shift my moods in different ways. So I even though I say Madness, they really only shift my mood to: Happy/Silly/Rather rebellious. :pirate:

I have a ton of songs that make me feel better (these are just some) :

This first one is Lithuanian jazz :)

Another Lithuanian song :)

This one is Latvian :)

A Polish song. The song makes me happy but the video makes me want to puke

but no particular band shifts my mood

A song that you can really just relax to would be One Republics song "A Good Life" it's very chill and it makes you look at things in a different prospective.. I think at least.

One artist that can piss me off and ruin a perfectly good day is Kesha!! She doesn't even sing she talks all of her songs, I can do that! Why am I not famous (sorry I dont mean to offend anyone, if I did.) :)

A band that makes my day is Hellogoodbye their songs are silly and they make me want to dance all alone in my room in front of my mirror.. Like I don't do that already.. lol

I love Sweet Transvestite too... but I only know the Glee version. (Sung by Amber Riley, very well.)

Probably the song that changes my mood the most at the moment is "I Wanna Hold Your Hand." Yes - It's another Glee version, but the context of the episode it's from puts a whole 'nother level of meaning on a song that I thought was just corny. So it's really sweet.. and I think that if I keep listening to it I may just grow a romance gland. (You'll be glad to hear that one carzeemumbear: )
