It's been five and a half years since this war began, and five years, two months, and twelve days since Russia, in a final attempt to subjugate the rest of the world, launched the RA47 nuke. America, in response, shot back, and thus began World War III- and the doom of us all.
My name is Roderich Edelstein, formerly the Rupublic of Austria, and I can tell you only this.

For we are all that is left.

Premise

It's early January, and it's the dead of a nuclear winter that has spanned over the last five and a half years. The land is barren, and food is scarce. It's always cold, raining, or snowing, and the air is thick with radiation and dangerous chemicals. Society is all but wiped out, and only the remaining 195-or-so countries and very few citizens are left to roam the Earth.
Along the former southern border of Germany, there lies a "camp" of sorts. Several of the European nations reside here, occasionally venturing out to search for food, water, and perhaps running into other countries on the way. The technology is minimal, reduced to walkie-talkies, fuzzy radios, and as many guns as they can scavenge. No one lives, and few survive.

Hi everyone!

So. Creepy introcutions aside, hi! My name is Fish'd, but I'll also be on as Mehrana- I switch back and forth between my main (Mehrana) and my mule (Fish'd) a lot. You can call me pretty much anything you like- Jade, Giada, Mehrana, Fish'd, whatever. 'Long as you're not mean about it.
Anyhow! Let's get the formalities out of the way before we get to the fun stuff. 8D
Rules/Requirements for the Roleplay:

• Follow Mene's ToS/rules.
• In this roleplay, as well as the request/OoC thread, what I say goes. I won't make you clean the bathrooms with your tongues, I promise, but you're obligated to if I ask.
• This'll be a relatively literate RP. I won't ask you to write a novel every post, but if we could stay away from one-liners, I would be extreemly grateful.
• When the roleplay starts, try to be on as often as possible. I know everyone has lives- and since most of you schoolkids, including me, have finals coming up you're gonna be off a lot, but once every day or two would be lovely.

• Please let me know if you're going on a scheduled 5+ day break, and if you're gonna be off long enough for someone to have to take over your character, lemme know who it is via PM/OoC thread.
• Copy this: |**| into your profile and make the title of your profile PM "WHERE ARE THE ZOMBIES?" so I know you read the rules
• Make your posts legible, prettyplease. That means no super-teeny font, no insanely bright, flashy colors, and please try to have the best grammar/spelling possible! No one's perfect (in fact, I'm sure I screwed up somewhere) but please try your best.

Personality: Austria is very uptight, or at least appears so. He has never smiled or laughed often, and almost never does now (then again, what is there to be happy about as of late?)- but he's not a mean person. He's actually very caring, and very kind, and fully prepared to help those in need, when he can.
