Cyril walked into the rehearsal with a book bag full of things, none of which had anything to do with the musical show. They hadn't even gotten their scripts yet. At first, he had been disappointed to get the role of te Phantom, now though... He was looking forward to all the theatrics he would be able to do. It would definitely be fun to sing the well known duet with Christine, whoever she was. Hopefully she would want to practice their songs outside of rehearsal, otherwise he would sound horrible.

The theater certainly was very well built. High flying ceilings, and a balcony second stage for the spectators. There was even a chandelier. Perhaps they would find a way to bring it down for that particular scene of the show. A smile flitted across his mocha colored features as he walked forward and up onto the stage where the lights were always brightest even without a show going on. Dark blue eyes flitted across the place, and his black hair fell to his shoulders in waves as he walked forward to sit down and wait for the others to arrive.

After the classes of the day were over Pascha was glad to run into the theater. No matter which location, she always felt like the theater was her home. The young woman felt safe there, because she could be anyone in the world when in the place. It was full of people who wanted to act, and be others, who wanted to bring out emotions within the crowds. Her dark blond, nearly brown, hair fell to her mid back usually but flared behind the young woman as she ran excitedly. No bag burdened her down, because she lived in residence right on campus.

Excitement made her forget the disappointment she had felt at not being given a speaking role. Not once had Pascha ever gotten a role where she could speak. The young woman's green eyes flared a little with the indignity of never being given a chance. She shrugged and jumped on stage with a single fluid movement. As always she would do her best with what she had. Her eyes flicked to the dark skinned Phantom, and a small smile flickered across her face.

Brynn Sanders couldn't believe her luck. She'd done it. She'd auditioned and she'd gotten the role she'd set her goals: Christine. Actually..she hadn't even meant to audition. She hadn't even signed up, her friend Aria had done it for her. Never mind the fact that she'd moaned groaned and dragged her feet to the very day she was supposed to audition. She'd still done it. She'd managed to blow away the cast director with her nervous shaky rendition of 'Think of me'....but still. She'd done it! She bit her lower lip to hold back her shocked laughter as she stepped into rehearsal.

Immediately her soft hazel hued eyes were drawn upwards to high soaring ceilings and the lovely chandelier. Oh she could just see it dropping down during that particular act. It'd be both beautiful and terrifying. The shaking of her head caused her soft light caramel colored ringlets to bounce with the gentle motion as she slowly made her way up onto the stage her eyes dancing around the stage with child like wonder. Clearly she was a novice when it came to this. heck she wasn't even a real drama geek. She was more a choir girl than anything else and ye..she'd still done it. She'd made the cut. Her face lit up in a bright smile as she did a silly little happy dance before she realized she had an audience. Flushing a bright obvious red she ceased her pointless dancing and bowed her head forward trying to hide her embarrassment."I uh..I guess I made it on time. I'm not late am I?" she asked her voice sharpening with alarm as she lifted her head up to meet the gaze of her fellow actors.

Keenan Daniels was running just a tad bit late. While it was true rehearsals hadn't started yet he had a limited time until they actually started. It was the first rehearsal and he couldn't afford to be late. But it wasn't like he could run all the way across campus in the span of a few minutes either. he wasn't that athletic for pete's sake. Huffing softly he hefted his backpack up on his shoulder and upped his pace as he flew across the college's courtyard. jeez he wasn't going to make it! He wasn't even halfway! After all the trouble he'd gone through to try and make it into this production he was going to screw it up by being late! But it wasn't like he hadn't warned the director. He'd explained that he had a tendency to always miss his time slots by a small margin and he wasn't kidding. He had a serious issues with father time.

Pausing he stopped to catch his breath his chest shuddering with each breathless inhale and exhale. Once he'd managed to catch his breath a ran a hand through his light blond hair and shook himself out of his brief break and pushed himself forward. Of all the colleges for him to pick why did he have to pick the one with the huge flippin' campus?! It didn't seem so hard to walk across it but to run across it? That was unimaginable. And yet that's exactly what he was doing. Miracle of miracle he somehow managed to make it into the rehearsal building and onto the stage with the other members of cast his lightly tanned face flushed an obvious red from his exertion. Had he made it? He'd just opened mouth to ask this when another girl beat him to it. He let out a soft exhale and wait for some to answer both his and her question.

Cyril shuffled about, and smiled winningly at Pascha. They'd already been in a few productions together. The young man had noticed that she could dance, even if acting wasn't something she should ever do in public. All the jokes fell flat even if she didn't start stuttering of shyness.

Turning his head, he stood and placed himself into a dramatic pose. Bowing, the young man then swept his hand gracefully to encompass the stage. "O woe this place, empty as the soul! This not yet the time for it to be full of life and joy!" Cyril then turned to the young woman and bowed gracefully over her hand. "It is a pleasure to meet you Lady, my name is Cyril"

During this whole time, Pascha had burst out into uncontrollable laughter. Cyril was such a character! He was always acting, it was obviously his life. Smiling, she eyed the man who had run in. He on the other hand, seemed like a jock. A dime a dozen kind of guy, the type you found hanging around the soccer field all the time. Making up her mind, she waltzed over to him. "Hey, my name's Pascha. What's yours? I haven't seen you on the stage before."

The stage, a the wonders of it all! The emotion always ran rampant, there was always drama behind the scenes. So much was on the line during each performance. If anyone messed up, the might all fail... So much went on, and so much could go wrong. Everyone became a team because of that, they were family for the duration of the show. With these thoughts, Pascha made up her mind to make this newcomer welcome.

Brynn's lips curled up in just the slightest bit of a smile a soft giggle escaping as she noticed Cyril's flare for drama. It wasn't incredibly obvious, but any guy that would speak like that for fun? Definite drama geek. Not that she had anything against drama geeks. They just weren't her usual crowd. And yet despite that she couldn't helping allowing her slender frame to sweep forward in a small curtsy her smile growing as she straightened her eyes sparkling in good humor. "The pleasure is all mine..." she murmured even going so far as to flutter her eyelashes at him. Sadly the charade didn't last long before she burst out laughing not at his acting skills but her own. Once she'd managed to gain control of her laughter she offered him an apologetic smile."I'm sorry. I wasn't laughing at you. I wasn't laughing at myself..I'm not much of an actress." she explained before holding her hand out to him. "Its nice to meet you though. I'm Brynn. What's your name?"

By the time Pascha had waltzed over to greet him, Keenan had managed to catch his breath. Call him crazy, but he didn't himself making another mad dash like that across campus. Not until he'd gotten back into the flow of things anyway. Sheesh who would have thought taking some time of from his usual itinerary of sports to put more effort into his studies would affect him this much? He certainly hadn't thought it would but clearly it had. "Hi. Nice to meet you Pascha, I'm Keenan. Sorry for bursting in like that. I didn't mean to startle anyone. " he apologized offering an apologetic smile.
(Sorry its kind of short....)

Seeing the answering bow, he remembered the auditions. At the mention of her name he grinned, his smile becoming so wide half his face seemed like it was made of teeth. "You're my Christine! It's Cyril, and I am your Phantom, also known as Eric. It will be a pleasure singing many duets with you. Speaking of duets, do you mind putting in extra hours outside of practice?" It was important for the dark haired man to know this right from the start. It would be so much easier to plan around their schedules. While thinking of these things, a little thought crept crossing his mind. Brynn seemed like a delightful young woman.

Waving her hands around with dramatic flair, the young woman laughed. "No need to apologize, you aren't late.. You're early! And, you didn't startle anyone you made an entrance." Feeling frisky, Pascha ran beside the young man and started doing flips and cartwheels. Of course she was showing off, but dancing was her strong point. It helped having a basis in gymnastics too. Finishing back where she had started, Pascha winked at him and sauntered off onto the stage where the director had just walked on.

(It's alright, it happens.)

Cyril..where had she heard that name at? She was almost positive she'd heard it somewhere. Maybe he was in one of her classes? No, she'd remember someone as noticeable as Cyril. He didn't seem like someone who'd just blend into the background and most of the kids in her classes had a tendency to do just that. So if Cyril had any of her classes she would have noticed him. Wouldn't she? Ah..maybe. It depended on if she ever got her nose out of her books and paid attention to things going on around her.

It didn't take her much longer to figure it out though-the call back sheet! She hadn't heard his name, she'd seen on the call back list. Her eye slit up just the faintest bit with recognition as she smiled warmly up at him. "Ah..So what shall I call you? Cyril?Eric? or just plain Phantom?" she asked with a soft frown. She was asking because she'd heard of some actors who didn't just act their role out on stage, but lived their roles. She thought it was a bit dramatic but she didn't want to offend Cyril so she'd just ask now so she'd have some heads up. She was just about answer his question about practicing outside of rehearsals when her attention was drawn elsewhere. Her eye slit up watching as another girl onstage flipped and cartwheeled around another member of their small but slowly growing group. She let out a delighted giggle and cheered while giving the girl a well earned round of applause before turning her attention back to Cyril with a hesitant grin. "Sorry about that. But to answer your question, I don't mind putting in extra time after rehearsals. If anything I'd feel more comfortable if I rehearsed my part as much as possible. This is my first time on stage...well I've sung in a group with other chorus members. but that was a group. I've never actually sang alone." she explained nervously. True she wouldn't be completely alone, she'd be singing several duets with him and other members of the cast. But she didn't actually know these people. In chorus things were very different.

Keenan laughed softly and nodded in agreement. "Heh, I guess you do have a point there. But still, isn't the theater considered a sanctuary of sorts? Most people would view what I did as somewhat disrespectful." Actually he'd thought she was one of those people. After all, weren't all drama fanatics one and the same? Or maybe he was just basing this opinion entirely too much on how many times he'd watched High School Musical with his younger sister. Those hours had been pure torture but he'd thought he'd carried something of value away from that day of suffering.

His eyes widened in surprise seeing her flipping and cartwheeling her way around him before she came back to her original starting point. He watched her exit in stunned surprise before he joined some of the other member sin a round of applause but he didn't stop there. "Bravo!" he called out before stopping. Was it bravo or brava? Huh he'd never thought of it before but didn't people in the audience usual call that out when they wanted an encore? Huh he'd have to look that up...Shaking his head in silent amazement he made his way over to the other side of the stage toward Pascha and the director.

(So is the director an NPC? Or are we going to make him a main character?)

(An NPC, it'll make things easier)

Laughing, Cyril applauded along at Pascha's little exhibition. "And she calls me a show off!" Cyril said while turning to wink at Brynn. "Call me whatever it pleases you to. As for practices, that's certainly a relief! We'll have to talk about when we can meet, and when we have to take breaks to study or for you to go find the wonderful young man I'm sure you have." Winking, he moved forward to lightly squeeze her shoulder. Tilting his head towards the director, he motioned for Brynn to follow him. Cyril believed she was going ot be a pleasant companion. It was wonderful to have found someone who didn't mind putting in extra time like himself. "And, seeing as you're Christine I'm positive your acting, and singing, skills are absolutely breath taking. "

The young man stopped speaking as the director began his usual speech. "Welcome everyone to a new production! Now I know not all of you have done this before, or have taken any theater art's classes. Not to worry though! We have an amazing support group for you new comers, and as for the old hats well welcome back! This year's play is one very dear to my heart, being the very first one I ever directed. That being said, I'm expecting you all to work hard on this." He went on like that for a while, making Pascha yawn.

She moved to stand beside Keenan with a smile. "Your name reminds me of a character from a book.. He was a fairy prince of the summer courts," nudging him she pointed at the director. "He's actually very good about speeches after this first one. Barely ever makes them, though sometimes they're real doozies." The applause the young woman had received earlier didn't really impress her much. It happened every time someone did something slightly above the ordinary, and wasn't much of a big deal.

Brynn couldn’t help but feel comfortable around Cyril, when she’d first stepped into the theater she’d been afraid that some of the other members of the cast would be a little standoffish about her presence. While it was true Brynn had graced the stage with her presence it had always been as herself and never anyone else. And even then she hadn’t been without her small group of friends that she knew and loved. And now..well now she didn’t have them rallying around her and it was just a very weird experience. Her audition had been a fluke, she’d had no intentions of doing it until her friend had sprung that little surprise on her saying Brynn had no choice but to audition. And so she had, and she’d made the call back and now. Well now she was here and she was going to play the role of Christine, with Cyril acting and singing along beside her as Eric.

Pulling herself out of her thoughts, Brynn flushed softly seeing Cyril’s wink and feeling him squeeze her shoulder. “Scheduling..well I’m fine with what ever you’ve got in mind. Maybe we can get together today after rehearsals for coffee or something to discuss how we’re going to do this?” she asked with a soft lilt of her head as she allowed herself to be lead towards the waiting director. It wasn’t until she was standing next to Cyril thinking over what time would be best for them to set up their extra practice schedule that she realized what he’d implied. He thought she had a boyfriend. And then he complimented her singing and acting skills. Blushing brightly she fumbled about for some way to answer that. She couldn’t compliment his skills because she’d never heard him sing before but he did have a really nice voice and he seemed to have an interest in acting so it was to say he did well in that area as well. Wasn’t it?

Thankfully, Brynn was saved by the director. Letting out a low sigh of relief she turned her gaze on him focusing attentively as she listened to him speak. Well, he seemed nice enough. From what she’d heard around campus she’d thought he’d be a little gruff. Then again, maybe that was only as the big performance date drew closer. After a while though the director had lost what ever spell he held over Brynn. Her eyes had glazed over in just the faintest sheen of boredom. Heck, she’d even dozed off for a few minutes somewhere along the way. She wouldn’t have woken up completely if she realized that she’d been using Cyril’s shoulder as her pillow. She hadn’t known she could fall asleep standing up, and she definitely hadn’t thought it was possible to die of embarrassment but right now she felt like she could very much die of embarrassment. On the bright side, the director was done with his introduction speech. Flushing brightly she brushed her hair out of her face. “Uhm, I’m really sorry about that. I promise it won’t happen again. I don’t usually throw myself at guys like that, no wait! I mean I don’t throw myself at guys like you…Oh jeez that’s not what I mean at all. I mean I don’t usually use guys I don’t know that well for pillows. I’m so sorry!” she babbled her cheeks steadily turning a brighter shade of red as she struggled to get the apology out.

Keenan let out a low snort hearing the comparison Pascha made between him a certain book character. Grinning he shook his head softly before he spoke keeping his voice a soft whisper so as not to interrupt the director, “Well, I’m sorry to let you down, put I’m not a prince. Fairy or otherwise, I’m just a regular dude. And I know the series you’re talking about, The Wicked Lovely series right. My little sister forces me to read the latest one every time I go home to visit her.” he admitted with a noble dip of his head. It wasn’t that his sister was so young she didn’t know how to read. She knew how to read, but back when she’d been just a toddler who refused to take her nap, Keenan had learned a handy trick provided singing didn’t work. He read to her, it didn’t matter what he read usually a few minutes after he’d started reading his little sister would drop off to sleep. Sadly, it wasn’t the same now but hey he didn’t mind spending a little quality time with his sister. So long as there was no High School Musical marathon involved. Then he could handle it.

Hearing his new companions comment about the director’s speech he grinned and gave a discreet point in another member of the cast’s direction. “From the looks of things it seems like your fan club agrees. Although, doozie might be the wrong word, if snoozie were a wood then it’d fit this situation perfectly. The director’s speeches are a real snoozie.” He said softly. Although not softly enough it seemed because at right that moment the director chose to end his speech there fore leaving the gathered crowd hanging onto Keenan’s ever word. Uh oh..
