For several years now, I have had the exact same dream. In the dream, I am in Japan. I am seeing and doing everything you can think of, even competing on Ninja Warrior. As I sdaid before, I have been having this dream for years. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts about it?

Does this dream bother you? If it does, you could start thinking about what this dream means -- what does it represent to you? Is it an obstacle dream? Wishful thinking?
I remember for years I had the same recurring dream -- that I get a letter in the mail saying one of my degrees would be revoked unless I went back to study another year. I started to think what did I think I may have missed in real life or what bothered me back then, and when I did the nature of my dream changed -- I "went back" and graduated in my dream and I never had that dream again.
I call recurring dreams "dream clutter" because of that...

I have no idea what your dream means. But I have really odd dreams every know and then, so what I do when I wake up is that I write them down so I don't forget them, and then I paint a picture of them. Sometimes you get some really interesting creations.

Nope, I have no idea what your dreams mean. I often have recurring dreams too. In fact, I think I have way too many recurring dreams. xD One of them is about robot spiders attacking the world, and another is me attending Hogwarts. But I think that's because I have an intense fear of insects and I was quite interested in Harry Potter at the time.
Oh~and I forgot, I often have a really weird dream about what's going to happen to me after I die. Apparently, I'm in heaven, sitting in a room full of computer screens that shows all of my sins O.o And I'm atheist, so I don't believe that this will actually happen to me after I die, but still...it's a weird dream...

Hi, Kraven! Since you're looking for opinions on a personal matter rather than a generalized discussion, I'm going to move this on over to Life Issues. :)
Now as for your dream, it's very difficult to say what it could mean without having more details and knowing you better, and I don't really know that much about dreams. It's possible that it's an expression of your desire to explore, have adventures, have an exciting life. It could also be that you just pay a lot of thought to Japan. Dreams tend to recycle our thoughts and feelings, so sometimes they're a reflection of what you're feeling, but other times they're just kind of a mish-mash of what went on in your head that day.
I've never had multiple dreams that were exactly the same (only dreams on similar subjects, with similar plots, etc.), and I don't really know if they're that much different than a standard dream. Like alexandrakitty suggested, it might be best to think about how you feel in the dream, what it means to you, and see how it could be a representation of something. There isn't really many one-size-fits-all dream interpretations, so really it's up to you to figure out what it could mean about your life and thoughts. After all, you know them best! :)

Well, to be more specific, in the dream I feel like I'm either visiting Japan or moving there. But there is more to it than that. I also have this feeling in the dream that I am supposed to be there for a reason.

dear friend , i know this dream is bothering you .but its even true that no one else except you can help yourself . every one has dreams each and every one has a meaning big or small that explains that dream and why you saw it . A dream can include any of the images, thoughts and emotions that are experienced during sleep. or a representation of unconscious desires, thoughts and motivations. which are not directly shown to you like maby if i dream of staying on an island by myself it means lonely ness .
one day i broke up with my friend and at that night hade a dream that me and all my friends were on a journy and the friend that i broke up with has an accident. that ment to me that i had removed that friend out of my mind. the dream like this might have connections to an event in your life that you subconsiously remember.
since the dream you saw were repeated i guess that the might be representation of unconscious desires, thoughts and motivations so you have to know that what it meant to you in the first place and what you felt maby according to me your saying you were in japan ...japan is a distant place maby it means you want to be some where else far away and you doing everything might mean that you want to do many things or acomplish many things there ..i guess the only thing you need to think about is where is this place it might not exactly be a place but someting else or what do you want to do..
sry for the spelling mistakes :* (hope ypu like it)

If you want to go to Japan, go to Japan. You don't need a dream to tell you yay or nay. I used to have a recurring dream about Wonder Woman, and I felt liberated and amazing every time I dreamt it. But I'm not hunting down Linda Carter or collecting comics, or anything.

In general, a dream about a vacation normally means a need to take a break, and to break out of your routine. You know, something different. Perhaps the dream is saying that you want to do something new and interesting in general for you, and you want to do many things in that activity.

I think your subconscious is telling you it's time to move to japan. You obviously have something that's drawing you to it, so go with it, you only live once. You may not have to pack up and move straight away but i'm sure you'll know when the time is right. And don't be freaked out that you're having the same dream over and over, 60% of the population have had recurring dreams at least once in their life. I remember when i used to get the same two dreams every night for about four years and i would even wake up every night around 2am inbetween the dreams. The first dream is sort of more of a memory of when i almost drowned when i was five, but in the dream i die instead of just passing out. The second dream is a nit weirder where i'm on a plane with my entire class from year 8 and someone else on the plane has a premonition that we're all going to die when we see a forest belows us, and you can pretty much guess the rest of that dream. I'll admit, i did become a bit of an insomniac for a while trying to avoid my dreams but they're nothing to be afraid of cause they can't actually hurt you :)

Recurring dreams usually are unresolved things that you, deeply inside yourself, want (or need) to resolve. My personal interpretion is that you are in the need of change, and have been for years - I don't know what you want changed though, but you have been ready for the change as well.
Not sure if this is helpful or not.

I wouldn't worry about it. I think your subconscious just really likes Japan.
If you really think it has meaning, look to what the goal of the dream is. Why are you there? What are you trying to accomplish.
Your mind might just be putting you in a place you feel safe or like a lot, so that the rest of the dream is comfortable while still holding meaning. Scaring someone is a good way to make a point, but, it leaves them with a bad taste in their mouth about it. :P

In the dream, I'm not really doing anything. But I am walking down the streets and speaking to three or four girls in Japanese.

See?
It's probably just a dream that makes your brain happy. :)
Don't go rushing to making life altering decisions about it. xD
At least I wouldn't. Dreams are cool, but knowing a lot of the science behind 'em takes the wonder out. lol
