Happy Birthday, Kasumi! If you're happy about it, so am I!
I really like your av, too! That veil thing is awesome, so are the flowers in your hair! What items are those?
And ya know, you're an inspiration to me. I am 25 and feeling like I am getting to old for my kid-like hobbies. You are showing me that I am not! I will continue to play video games and hang out on Mene until I lose my mind!
Gelatin glaze! I worked in a bakery as a treat once for a day, it's was an amazing experience. I got to learn a lot. :D
Hehe I'm sure the surprise would be a tasty treat for you!
You're welcome. Would you like to take a guess at it's meaning? And you could call me Iro, if you like. It's much easier to type out than the entire name. :)
Rhumbullion - Avatar sites are kind of my guilty pleasure, I'll admit. March of 2013, my oldest daughter becomes old enough to go on these herself. Wow... >.> Poor kid's going to go crazy having me up in her bidness.
The blue flowers are the 'Blue Harem Headdress' - there is a white veil that comes with that item, but I'm using the 'silver crown veil' without the circlet part in stead.
Iro - I can't eat gelatine, but I'm sure I could find a way to have something tasty like that with carageenan in stead. (We're vegetarian and my youngest girl is allergic to gelatine)
I've tried to figure out your name but I just can't seem to grasp it. There's something familar there, though...
Edit: I've got to take off for a few hours. I'll be online again after 3.

Reason: leaving for a bit
Ah, I see.
Anything is possible, with enough effort and creativity put into it. ;)
The name is mainly made out of two languages.
Iroase is a Japanese word, one of the past tense forms of "fade". Delschatten is basically broken into, "de", "l", and "schatten". Schatten is German for "shadow". De is the well known "the". The "l" is just an additional letter added to make the name roll better on the tongue. My (now dead) art shop name was an allusion to my username, "Faded Shadow". :)
And yes, it was a nice session, although it was quiet as it was Monday morning for many. :)
Not really. There are some people who use it as a way of tutorial, but for me it's to draw with company, if you get what I mean? I tend to get really shy drawing in front of people. My first few LS sessions produced rather bad results (in terms of artwork), but I'm slowly getting over the awkward feeling of people watching. =D
I am not that talented but I still draw. My coworker is trying to get me signed onto a few comics with her friends. I am shy, though, so I haven't met with anyone yet. I honestly do believe that everyone can draw. :D
I think those with a natural talent for it have it a bit easier to start with, but it really does all boil down to practice and motivation.
However, to get better, you have to practice doing things correctly and try new things.
Yes! See, I can only draw when I am inspired (one of the reasons I re-joined Mene, actually), and that hinders me in the way of improvement. Sometimes I see things I want to draw and try and I do it. I feel better for trying even if I don't succeed.
maybe so.
my art teacher told me i had no talent.
so i feel like i do not have any God given talent.
it sort of squashes your desire when someone tells you that.
it's okay though because i do appreciate art and love talking about it,
well really i love listening about what people use to draw and such.
Oh my god, what a travesty. An educator told you that? Then, as an educator, let me tell you that they have failed. It is not an educator's job to say that someone cannot do something, therefore they should not. It is an educator's job to inspire and lead the way to bigger and better things. I am SO sorry they said that. I feel ashamed to be in the same bucket as that person...That person is the lobster in the bucket...
I do think there are some people that have it harder than others too. Just as some have talent.
But in both cases, you won't get very far without that practice and drive to just do it.
That's kind of discouraging of your teacher. :c
I can only join when the mood strikes me and more often than not, I put myself before I even try. That's my biggest hindrance. xDD
it was really bad because i am so shy as it is.
but when it came to art i paniced every class.
jewlery making and ceramics were really fun for me though.
but to sit and sketch something is just sheer panic for me.
lol at lobster in the bucket.
she is mightie tastie with garlic butter!
What I mean is...imagine lobsters in a bucket trying to get out. What do other lobsters do? Crawl all over each other, pushing and pulling each other down, not helping one another, but keeping others from succeeding.
