Severus Snape, year 6 and known friends with Lucius Malfoy year 6. They were both not only Slytherins, year 6 students, but, also enemies with the Potter family or at least James Potter and his little gang that is. James' gang included only, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and even occasionally Peter Pedigrew. Many didn't care for the jokes played on one another, however, it did show that Severus just ignored the jokes and abuse showing that he wasn't going to play that game. Though it did make him seem weak to most as very few thought he was strong since he never really stuck up for himself.
Today was just another day, Severus was sitting outside under one of the trees on Hogwart's school grounds as he could easily hear Potter's gang coming closer. "What should we do to Snivelous today, James?" Sirius asks moving his short black hair out of his dark eyes. Remus shook his head, he wasn't really against the jokes being pulled, but, he never stook up for Severus either. For some reason it seemed to James Potter that he 'had' to mess with Severus by calling him names and even pulling these ruthless jokes on him. Today it was going to go too far, but, Severus already asumed this day would come. Getting up from sitting down he looked towards the group, nonetheless, they had already trapped him from leaving.
"What do you want today Potter, Black" Severus never involved Remus in any of this that would go on. He didn't see the point when Remus never really did anything to make things worse besides not sticking up for him. Though since when would a Gryffendor stick up for a Slytherin. "Today we have a new lesson to teach you" James smirked replying and having some idea of what they were gonig to do to him. "I do believe thats for us to know and you to find out" Sirius spoke up smirking with his best friend.

Snape is being teased by James Potter and is getting a horrible prank pulled on him with the help of Sirius Black (maybe even Remus) While this is going on and other kids are laughing, we could say Lucius, with how proud he feels of his family, interupts helping out Snape and becoming somewhat friends after the slytherins then follow to defend as no one usually goes up against a Malfoy. (They had more respect back then than the future)
Later Snape wants to get revenge and Lucius has an idea, maybe, just maybe they use a polymorph (I think thats right) potion that allows Lucius or Snape to turn into Lily and they would (for the sake of the joke) make out in front of James, Sirius, and Remus freaking them all out because James just asked Lily out but never yet got the answer?
The spring of his sixth at Hogwarts wasn't any special for Lucius. Actually he was even starting to get extremely bored of this school, as his own popularity didn't really let him to break any rules as he liked to do in earlier years - because of teachers almost kissing ground where he walks, and because of silly naive girls following him everywhere. The exams have passed already, meaning that only one week left here, surrounded by crowds of stupid mudbloods that Lucius, as well as any self-respecting pureblood wizard, couldn't stand.
That day Lucius decided to take a walk. Weather was too good for him to sit at Slytherin's common room all the time, so the blonde wizard went out, just to stroll around with no real reason. Hogwarts was boring, such a boring place for him. He even got bored of chasing after Narcissa Black, beautiful and smart offspring of ancient Black's family. Generally his perfect woman. Even if Hogwarts itself had many secrets inside which were unrevealed for hundreds of years, Lucius didn't find it any amusing. Honestly he was trying to somehow kill time for the last week, practically dreaming of going back home. Oh, he felt like he could do just... Anything! To get home as soon as possible, and have three months of sacred silence, with no stupid girls worshiping him.
By corner of his eyes, tall blonde guy noticed some crowd, obviously not up to anything good. He wasn't fan of fights, but for now there wasn't anything else to do, so he would consider any activity. Lucius walked to them, ready to use his prefect's power and take away some points from causing troubles, as he eventually recognized Potter's crew and his best friend Severus. Frowning he took out his wand. "Better drop it, you jerks, and leave him alone before I transformed you into slugs, or something." Lucius narrowed eyes, talking in his usual cold, lazy and somehow mocking tones.
(Sorry I'm like really sore and couldn't write last night so I'm writing now)
Severus kept his attention on James and them as he tried pulling out his wand. It was almost useless when James used a spell to knock Severus' wand out of his hand. "Expelliarmus" James called out not too loudly though. Severus was growing tired of this, he did not need a wand to use a spell only to be able to move even to the slightest bit. 'Flipendo' he thought to himself holding his hand up as Black got into the way being knocked back away from everyone else. Others moved out of the way after circuling the fight. Some stayed off to the side not to be caught up in it.
James shook his head "You okay Sirius?" "Yea yea, now just end this-" before Sirius could say more, Lucius Malfoy stepped into view and started speaking "We will not bow to a Slytherin let alone you Malfoy" James stated and Sirius didn't back down, Remus though stayed within the crowd. "Move away Malfoy" James spoke unphased by anything but Sirius had already stepped in not hesitating "Waddiwasi" this spell moves something out of the way wether or not its blocking something.
"Protego." He muttered lazily, blocking and reflecting annoying Gryffindor's spell. "10 points from Gryffindor, for each of you." He just said, fixing prefect's badge on his chest and leaning to Severus, offering him his hand. Helping black haired teen to stand up, Lucius still held his wand tightly in his hand, giving the coldest possible glare to Gryffindors around. "If any of you ever try and abuse him... I swear I will take care that reduced points will be the best thing that may happen to you." He said with a deep frown, knowing that they won't really take his warning serious.
Yet, marauder's walked away - no matter how stupid they were, they understood not having any single chance against prefect who's older and more experienced than they are. With a sigh, Lucius looked at Severus. "Are you okay, lil fella?" Blonde asked, ruffling his hair a bit. "Tell me if they bother you ever again, fine? I can get those stupid blood-traitors expelled... If I try hard enough."
(wow I almost forgot about this, yay I have a reason not to run from mene now :D)
The spell flew back hitting James backwards against Sirius who had just stood up. Others were snickering, while most kept to themselves; Severus took Lucius' hand standing up as everyone else started to go on their own. "Thanks" Severus spoke quietly as he picked up his things off the floor, class was going to begin again, there was only one more of the day it seemed.
Severus went to his potions class, he had two of them, they were different a little bit but easy enough to pass since it was his passion as of to do so. Looking around, he waited until he could spot Lucius, he wanted to ask him why he helped him, they hadn't really talked much before that little incident so it made him curious why someone of such a high level of social status would do so.
"No problems."He only muttered, watching boy walking away. Himself Lucius had a free class, so bell didn't mean much to him. With a soft sigh tall blonde headed to dungeons, into Slytherin's common room. After little spark of something interesting in the boring school life, everything turned back into deep, tiring grayness.
As he walked to common room, it was already empty. Lucius grabbed random book lying on the table next to couch, and yawning widely opened it, seating himself on the green, soft armchair. "Advanced potion making?" He sniffled, looking at the name of book. Yet, what he found inside have surprised him a bit - pages were full of owner's notes, fixes and just random scraps. "Wow." Lucius muttered under his breathe, turning to the last page, to see who's book it is. As he saw name 'Half-Blood Prince' he couldn't hold back his laughter. "Prince? Half-Blood? Really? I wonder who's that poor loser."
Severus, finished up his classes, caught himself moving towards the Slytherin common room away from the direction that James and Sirius were heading to. They had now been stalking him the last couple of hours, though Severus, not liking to be seen as a coward had confronted them in a hallway without any students called the forbidden wing. "What do you two want now? To make fun of me? No one is even around to witness it!" Severus exclaimed annoyed more than anything.
"Exactly, we dont need an audience this time, not when your mother will appear to save you" James laughed, though there was more anger in his voice than anything. This time he had wanted to get his payback, one way or another, wether or not he would get in trouble for it. "I'm in on this one" Sirius grinned as the three boys took out their wands.
After the fight leaving both sides with some bruises, scrapes, and/or injuries. The boys left, Severus had twisted his ankle but was able to hide it well enough and if anyone asked he would say he tripped on the steps or something. He walked into the Slytherin Common room and noticed Lucius reading something. He moved closer to see what it was that he was actually reading or looking at.
Impatiently tapping his fingers against the side table, Lucius kept on reading. His gray pale eyes were running through all the notes and edits of the book, noticing self-made spells that must be unregistered and illegal, as ministry didn't know about them. Useful thing, and also great thing for blackmailing, as soon as he finds out who's that half-blood prince. Blonde couldn't help himself but chuckle, just by imagining how useful book might be, if he would just take it now.
Though his plan had a little fail - bell rang, announcing about break, and fellow slytherins broke into common room. Frowning Lucius shook his head, and just kept on reading - he will find some other time to get the useful, in many meanings, book, a bit later. With a sly grin, he just decided to wait. The most lucky and successful people have always been the ones, who had ability to wait.
Even reading, Lucius couldn't not notice Severus walk it - he didn't seem to be as good as before the class. A little frown ran across blonde's face, and he crossed legs, making a loud noise by closing the book. Keeping it on his lap, Lucius eventually began attacking Severus by questions, as soon as he walked closer. "What happened? Who did it? Were those Gryffindors bothering you again?" He muttered in half-voice, piercing eyes into raven haired boy's.
Severus had walked in after everyone cleared out, with it being a weekend everyoen had their own plans for the nights. However he was unable to see the book that Lucius was reading, otherwise, knowing him he would probably...well not freak out but wouldn't like someone else having his book which was like a journal of things.
"No, I ran into an accident" in other words it wasn't fully a lie, it was more true except it wasn't no accident, but, he did run into someone that caused all of it. He had scrapes more around his upper body, a twisted ankle being hidden as best as he could, and even some bruises along his arms and stomach that you couldn't see very well.
He wasn't sure why Lucius was asking all of these questions and he stopped in his tracks, he sat on the couch ignoring the left over kids that left talking about going to Hogsmeade to hang out. Severus noted the glare but didn't look away, he wasn't going to show Lucius that he was afraid of him, though right now he wasn't sure if he was hiding that well enough either. "What you reading?" he was trying to change the subject honestly.
Lucius narrowed eyes slightly, shaking head at Severus and his excuses. "Sorry, sweetheart." He began, letting his gray eyes to pierce into black ones, showing him that it's pointless to lie. "But you won't get my by those stories. You don't want me to force veritaserum down your throat, do you? I doubt it. So better just tell me what's wrong."
Tall blode boy shook his head a bit at boy's naivety, think that he could fool such a person as Lucius himself.He always tended to have a bit too high self-esteem, but never thought of it as of a problem. Actually more as of advantage. But looking at Severus, Lucius felt like he was looking at his own, very unlucky and sort of sorry, younger version.
"Reading?" He arched brows, throwing his arm on the back of couch, looking as if he has it wrapped around Severus' shoulders. "Just some book I found laying here, nothing much." Lucius shrugged a bit, but moment later he has frowned, looking back at the boy. "Hey hey... Nice attempt, chook, but we're not going to change topic this soon. Well, we will not change it until you finally give up and tell me what has actually happen."
Severus didn't reply, he only simply stayed quiet, he was trying to find a way to avoid this subject, he didn't need anyone to take care of him for any reason or take care of his bullies for him in other words. Severus started to walk away until he realized the book that Lucius had held. "What are you going to do with that book now that you found it?"
Severus would ignore how hurt he had gotten in the battle, he knew later that he would come to regret it, however, he may not have been strong enough or fast enough, though, he was smart enough to keep things at bay for awhile. He could hang around teacher's, he was already known as a teacher's pet, he could hang around a bunch of other kids, but, that involved talking to them.
Lucius looed at him curiously, and then glanced down at the old book of advanced potion making in his hands. Suddenly thing started to become clear for him. "It's your book." Blonde wizard stated slowly, letting his eyes to slide down boy's face, which, in his opinion, had no choice bu start blushing soon. Without waiting for an answer, which was already obvious for Lucius, he just laid book of Sev's lap, with a little sigh.
"Just tell me what's wrong. You will feel better.." Older boy tapped on Snape's shoulder. "Will you, if I promise I will not get involved?" He asked with a sigh, feeling sort of bad since Severus didn't trust him. Lucius looked up at the ceiling, thinking how could he gain raven haired boy's trust.
Severus held the book in his hands, he hadn't known what to say about anything, and for once he was afraid of what might happened. Sure most of the time he was filled with hatred and anger, but, this time it was the complete opposite almost, there was still anger inside of him. "I would tell you either way, just...there was a battle between me and Potter's gang and well, I think I pretty much won that one. Though next time it might be...worse" Severus wasn't sure at all on how the next one would go.
"Potter and his gang.." Lucius repeated thoughtfully, staring somewhere deep into fireplace. He began impatiently tapping fingers against the side table. "I promised not to get involved...But I don't want you to get hurt." Blonde was nearly talking to himself, he was so deep into thinking that he even forgot to blink. "Do you know Potter's weak point?" He finally asked, bringing cold look of his gray eyes back to the younger boy. "If you do, then try and hit it, just don't let him know your plans - it always hurts more when victim doesn't expect it."
"No, I don't know his weak point-wait, I think I do and I think I know a way to get back at him, but I would have to find somebody willing to help me with it" Severus spoke realizing that James was in love with Lilly but had to think about how it would work. What if one of them could be disguised as Lilly and the other could kiss in front of James with thinking that they were alone but purposely lead James to this 'secret' disucussion. At least its unable to be traced as the plan wouldn't harm anyone physically and it would be no breaking school rules. Plus it would be to stop bullying within the school and Dumbledore was actually very easy going about things. "I wonder who would help me out" Severus and then realized how tense Lucius became "Look, never mind about it. It is not worth it, in a few years we will be out of this hell hole" Severus added looking towards Lucius, his book still in his hands.
"See? I thought that you know it. Good boy." He petted his head with a small smile, feeling even somehow proud of him handling it. "I'm always willing to help you.." Small smirk formed on blonde's lips as he thought of possible plans, though he didn't even hear about the weak point yet. Honestly, Lucius didn't care much about Severus - the thing he truly cared about was fame of Slytherin, which was obviously suffering because of weaklings such as Snivellus. But saying that directly wouldn't lead to anything good, and lying.. Was always a fun activity for true Slytherins as himself. Though the smile disappeared from his face as soon as he head of it 'not being worth'. Trying to stay calm, though he already had an urge to hit boy besides him, Lucius sighed softly. "Well... It IS worth it. At Hogwarts everyone's having thier best years of life, so I don't want you to remember as the place where you've been tortured..."
Severus stood up looking away heading towards his room "The damage is done, they went after me, I went after them and I honestly think you wouldn't be up for it, I'm going to bed" Severus spoke as he got closer to his room and not turning around. He wasn't thinking about his room mate, his home work he still had to do, or anything else but avoiding the subject.
With a small cough and obvious disappointed Lucius quickly jumped off his seat at grabbed on Snape's robes, tugging it slightly. "You're not going anywhere, young man! We cannot leave it like this. Stop acting like a damn coward. Unless.. That's the way you actually are... " Blonde gave him a little, hardly noticable smirk, wondering if this will work as he expects it to.

When Severus felt his cape of his cloak being pulled he turned around "I am no coward" he wasn't, not like so many others and even if he was, he would never really say so out loud. "Do you honesty think you can get a strand of hair from Lilly and use it in a polyjuice potion while pretending to be her while doing something to shock James and his gang like maybe turning them down or kissing someone else that they do not like"
Lucius blinked at boy's suggestion, at first wanting to say something rude towards him for acting so impolitely to such an important person as himself, but the more he heard of the idea, the less urge he felt. "Well..." In the end he grinned, beginning to stroke his imaginary beard. "Actually I would. Getting girl's hair is more than just easy, considering thatshe's having problems with it... Shame,since I'm male and I take beter care of my head.." Lucius smirked and ran thingers through his silky hair. "Then polyjuice.. Would take time, and it's forbidden, but, hey, you;re good with potions, I'm Slughorn's favorite student.. Will be easy... But as for kissing... You know, you'll own me a biiiiig time. ESPECIALLY..."He nodded at Narcissa, chitchatting with her friends "...if Black finds out anything"
Severus couldn't help but laugh a little when Lucius started saying he looked better than the girl. Severus listened him out, sure Severus was good at potions, better than good and much better than most. "Don't worry no one will find out as long as it can be pulled off correctly" Severus spoke slightly acting as if he was in a higher place than Lucius "IF you think you can pull it off, but, I don't believe you can" Severus teased now. "Now excuse me, I have to go take care of all of this before I become the talk of the school, you know how I don't like the popularity"
Becoming extremely annoyed by arrogant and disrespectful behavior of the younger boy, Lucius coughed and grabbed on his robes, slightly raising him up. Awarding boy by a deadly glare, blonde nearly hissed "Do. NOT. Dare. To. Talk. To. Me. In. Such. A. Manner. ESPECIALLY when I'm trying to help your ass from getting beaten daily. You should thank me for wasting my time on you, you damn rude brat." With a frown, Lucius let him off, and only snorted when Severus fell down on the ground. "What else to expect from filthy half-blood as yourself? Half-blood prince, my ass."
Severus wasn't about to just take this, standing up he walked away without saying a word. A girl with waist length blonde hair and silver streaks barely noticable here and there stood watching the whole interaction. Her eyes were green, a very dark green which would match her soul and personality. "Well, I must say, you guys are tied for who the bigger man is" Her name was Clarissa Schnee and she was probably one of the most popular Slytherin girls that was able to keep up with everything.
Clarissa examined any reactions "I do believe you've caught my attention, Malfoy. What is exactly going on between you two?" Clarissa was seeing what would happen but noticed Snape came back into the room "And Clarissa, go to bed" Severus stood there not happy at all with what was happening. Clarissa frowned and walked out of the room, total disgust on her face as she said "You know if you were cleaner, I would probably fall for someone like you" "I hope you hit the ground then" Severus stated and looked to Lucius "Sorry" he mumbled and left the room up into his own shutting the door behind him.

"Shut up." He calmly dropped at the girl from lower course, letting her to understand he didn't care about her opinion. Lucius yawned and sat back down, still feeling angry, but now he already had his emotions under control and was back in his cool role. Crossing legs he stared at Clarissa for a bit with a clearly bored stare, hoping that the young girl will fee uncomfortable, but as he heard familiar steps, his look slowly turned to Severus.
Sighing tall blonde wizard just watched their small argument, nearly hitting his own forehead with hand - it was so childish and just... Pathetic. His bored expression wasn't changing - but Lucius still felt a big urge of smacking the greasy brat across his face. There wasn't anyone who could have a right to talk to him the way he did, and young Slytherin wasn't going to tolerate this. He yawned demonstratively and covered his mouth by mouth. "Can you two stop this absolutely meaningless conversation? It's just waste of time and you're all over the place." And then his eyes widened slightly, hearing a small 'sorry'. Lucius didn't react properly as the door of boy's dormitory got shut again.

Severus took out his studies and did what he could to focus, he was actually very tired from the day that he had. It was late as it was and he still had to focus on Herbology. About 15 minutes went by until he fell asleep at the desk, his arms were over his head upon the open book. His hair spread out amongst his shoulders, and he even held a pencil in his hand from taking notes over it. Severus didn't care if his light was still on or the fact that his roommate would be coming back that night. Or if he was already in the room, he had wanted to study before the test tomorrow, but, that didn't seem possible as he drifted off to sleep.
Whenever Severus would sleep, it would be almost impossible to wake him up. He had slept through so many things before and didn't care. Unless it had to do about his classes, he was one of those rare Slytherins who wanted to go to class and actually do the work, he also loved to read. But, no one really knew that about him, and those who did, well they didn't make such a big fuss out of it.
