Steam is amazing. I have almost $1,500 dollars invested into it and I use it every day of my life. Not to mention Valve, the company that owns it, makes awesome games.

I love steam, it all started with CS for me. Steam has new and old games, some games surprised me when I found it on there. Plus there are always deals going on.

Steam is good sometimes and terrible other times. They have a ton of games available and they also give deals out regularly, which makes them a good company. The problems I have with it is that it's so buggy, laggy and slow sometimes. Many times I'll have to restart my laptop because Steam decides to crash on me, which not only stops Steam but my entire laptop. Other times it will not remember my information. In my opinion, Steam is a great program with a lot of pros, but Valve really should get better programmers, since Steam has a TON of bugs and problems still.

This. This is the whole reason that I have a problem trusting all my gaming to a third-party program.

The problems with steam can be summed up, in a nutshell, with the Assassin's Creed 2 fiasco that went down a few years ago, with PC gamers causing a huge fuss because you had to be connected to the internet via Steam 100% of the time you were playing the game. If your internet dropped, the game cut out. If there was a glitch with Steam or they were updating, the game cut out. Big problems, mass hysteria.

I love features like achievements, and the in-game chat client is great. But when it comes down to it, if it were my decision, I would still buy the stand-alone game nine times out of ten and close Steam down, save myself a little memory and a little trouble.

This is one of the few things Arkkath and I argue about :x He loves Steam, hehe.

I only use Steam for a few games. And of those few(I think I have 8 games through it) I really only play 2-3 regularly(like 2-3 times a month). Killing Floor, TF2, and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War.

I admit though, that once I get my new computer(first weekend in December) I will be playing more PC games, and less XBox. Though, I will still be on XBox Live to chat with friends, and probably play a few games with them.

I really like Steam but only for multiplayer games.
