Anyone else a fan of her music?

Its quite different from a lot of what I usually listen to, but I like it. I'm really liking the new songs. The song Shake It Out is quite good.

Yes! I love her music! I think my favorite song is Girl with one eye even though it's technically a cover song. I haven't had a chance to hear her new stuff yet though.

So Florence & the Machines new album came out several days ago and from what I've heard of the album so far, I like it. What does everyone else think of it?

I only heard one song off of it. I haven't had the chance to buy the album yet. I'm excited to hear it though!

Ceremonials is awesome. I remember reading somewhere that Flo wanted to make a darker "Lungs" (her first album), and that's pretty much exactly as I'd describe it.

Really love how haunting several of the tracks are (Only if for a Night, What the Water Gave Me, Seven Devils), and how inventive others are (No Light No Light, Heartlines, Leave My Body).

I've loved Flo for ages... Easily one of my favorite female performers, and I'm glad her work is well-received yet not uber... well, mainstream-y. Her songs are radio material, yet don't have superficial lyrics and thoughtless beats. I think she's one of very few that deserve their level of fame in today's world.

(Also, My Boy Builds Coffins and Hurricane Drunk are my absolute favorites off of her Lungs album.)

I love Florence and the machine! I just recently purchased their album "Ceremonials", and it was fantastic. One of the best albums I own. I originally downloaded "shake it out", and i loved it so much that i decided to buy the whole album. I love their interesting sound and vibe. Oh and i just love Florences`hair color! Did you know that she is not a natural red head? haha, i was quite surprised when i heard that.

I'm not totally crazy about her music, but I absolutely love her song Howl. Probably because I first heard it in a music video on youtube and now the video is what I see in my head when I listen and lip-sing to her awesome song :) I'm really hoping to get into more of her work because she has a beautiful voice.

I like her melodies and soundtracks, but her lyrics are pretty simple. It's interesting... It's like they're songs she wrote in middle school. The rhymes are predictable, the vocabulary is of a low reading level. Sometimes her voice bothers me, but the melody and instruments keep me listening. When I listen to her, I get the feeling that she's trying to be a different kind of different. Like, Lady Gaga and ..Nikki Minaj are trying too hard to stand out and be different, but they're going about it too garishly for most people to actually appreciate it; you don't have to wear wigs and bizarre clothing to be different. Florence + The Machine comes off to me as doing the same thing, but in a more subtle and hipster-appealing way. Which, I don't know if that means I'm calling myself a hipster, but is better than the pop methods. I haven't looked up any music past the "Lungs" album; it's the only one I bothered to buy.

That was a weird post. Take it as a compliment or insult, it's just how I feel about this band: weird.

I love Florence. She's so unique. My favorite song by her is probably "Drumming Song" but I love all the songs on Lungs, really. I haven't heard her new album yet though! I'll have to check it out!

You should. I really like her new album. I prefer it over the first. Both are good but I like the 2nd one just a bit better

I think I'll have to agree with the second being better. It's my new favorite album.

as of about a month ago i just started to listen to her music :) 'shake it out' was what got me hooked and i love every aspect of it... the words, the music, even the video... it just sucks me in and i like it!

after that one, i heard 'never let me go' just by chance and that song is truly haunting and melodic and i love it... i suppose i like the feeling i get when i listen to it

the third song i heard just happened upon me while looking up trailers for the new movie, 'snow white and the huntsman' and she did a song for that, 'breath of life' and it's again beautiful and epically composed with the big bass drum sound making it more dramatic...

so after all that i think i need to listen to more because so far, i've liked pretty much everything i've heard
anyone have any good recommendations i'd be most grateful :)

"Haunting" is kind of a great way to describe her music.
To be honest though, I haven't heard a whole lot from her but I think my favorite is "Heavy In Your Arms" if I'm right..

wow, that is another song i'd put in the 'haunted' category, jesmond :O and the video for it is kind of creepy too since she is being dragged about all over the place

it might be her voice that is a huge contributing factor to the 'haunted-ness' in her music... that is very unique and makes her stand out as a musician... i like it! i hope she keeps making music for a very long time!

I just missed out on her concert and free tickets. A friend of mine had them, but didn't know who Florence and the Machine was.....Soooooo he let them just be forgotten until he learned I loved them, but the concert had already passed >.<

Loved it, but then it started being played too much on the radio. When I hear her voice, I turn the radio off. ;_; Maybe again next year, right?

I would love to go to a concert of hers but she's never been to around my area or anywhere close enough to me.

i've recently gotten into her music too, but i only have her most recent album. my favorites are "Remain Nameless", "Only If For A Night", "Spectrem", "Seven Devils", and "Breaking Down". i'll have to check out "My Boy Builds Coffins" and "Hurricane Drunk" too.

i like her music and her demeanor. her presence and her hair is pretty awesome too. she does seem like she would be good live
