I play as guys in most games. The only time i play as a girl in games is when they are better; in whatever way i decide that lol. If they are equlas or if the guys are better, than i play as a guy.

There's not always an option, you know.

Most of the time I'll play as a female if I can, but only if she's properly dressed. I won't play as a character with boobs hanging out.

Depends on the game sometimes I will play multiple times, and use both sexes. It all depends on the game.

I usually go for the one that looks most like me, haha. It depends on the game and how effeminate the male is.

I tend to mix and match but normally learn towards female characters. I currently play Lord of the Rings online where i have a mixture of both male and female characters. I main character however is female, not played her for awhile since i fiance is studying at a horse college with no internet.

The other MMO I play is star trek online, again deciced to opt for a Female created alian charater that i made cardiassian. I don't know why just perfer female characters.

I'm a girl and always, almost without fail, play as females if the option is available. My best friend does the opposite - she's a girl and she plays almost completely men. Says she likes the eye candy. :lol:

Depends on the game really. If the female character is cute-looking and well dressed, I'll usually go with her, but if she's the type to look all slutty and such with barely anything on I'll pass and choose the guy instead.

I'm a female and I usually play as male. That's mostly because I always have 'Prince' in my username and when I play as female people accuse me of really being a dude in real life so I figure why not just pick a guy and avoid all that?

In general, when it makes no difference to the character's strengths, I play as a female character since I am female. There are some cases in which I'll change that up, such as WoW's tauren and worgen (basically centaurs and werewolves, for those who've never played). The female versions of those two races just look so awkward and odd, while the male versions look so badass, that I just can't stand to play the females. I have to play the males of those.

So yeah, in general I play as female, but if the male has better stats or looks significantly more badass then I'll go with male.

I'm a female and I prefer playing as a female. Mainly it's because I like having something pretty to look at when I play.

It really depends on what kind of game it is.
I like to give my character a... well, a character.
Different traits, different likes and dislikes. A personality.
Sometimes it also depend on the plot.
Is this plot intended for a strong male character or do you need a character with more finesse?
Or do I want to create a strong female character?
And in Bioware games, it also depends on what love interest I want to 'take' :P

I'm female and play as female. Unfortunately, often times I have to deal with my female character being scantily clad in strips of armor that don't actually provide any defense in reality.

I also don't need to see huge breasts bouncing around when I'm trying to slay roomfuls of monsters.

I use a good mixture of both characters.

I tend to use MALE characters while playing MMOs like WoW, though, simply because I've noticed people take me more seriously when they think I'm a guy at first. I never say I am, but they just assume because of my avatar.

Also I was tired of guys babying me because I was a girl.. and I've had a few really creepy things happen on WoW with my female avatars.

if it's an online game i tend to go for a female character as i sort of make it what i wish i could be like, if that makes sense, but often times it depends on the game... platform fighters i tend to go for the females only because i like to see girls beating the snot out of guys :D in rpg's i guess i tend to favor the males because typically the females are like white mages or other such not so fight worthy players

This is going to sound really homosexual, but please keep in mind I am entirely straight ><;

I -always- play female, in everything (unless it was otherwise already predetermined by the game that I be a male).
And my reason is, not only is it great from an immersion stand point, but I LOVE GIRLS!! I love dressing them up, I love
looking at them, I love everything about them! Its just so much more fun, and I relate so much better. With men,
although entirely hot in their own right, just aren't as fun to me. Even the androgynous ones... no, I like playing as a
female. I know a lot of females that have different personalities and can pull it off-- with a male character, I don't feel
that is the case (since 80% of the time, they're always tough and burly). Again, this is all just personal opinion.

My boyfriend plays both, but recently he's been playing girls (in MMOs only). His reasoning is because since all the classes he plays are casters and healers, robes and gear look better on females then they do males.... which I understand. They look like elaborate dresses. I'm sure looking at a nice butt all day is probably a bonus though XD

Female characters are usually horrible in the games I play. They die so easily and they're terrible fighters. The only good thing about them is that they're fast. In general, I hate playing females.

I pretty much always play female characters if I get the choice, but I do have some male Soul Calibur characters that I've made that I really enjoy playing. :yes:

I play as females whenever the game allows me to choose, but if the characters are predetermined, then I don't mind playing a male.
It just depends on what class or character I like the best.
But for MMORPGs, I like playing as girls because I like dressing them up. I like to think that I'm making a character based of the image of how I wish I could look.
