Gibbs woke up and looked at his clock that rested on his little nightstand. "4:00" He muttered and rolled out of his bed. He staggered to the bathroom groggily and stripped off his boxers. He wasn't really in the mood to work today. Last night had been a long one, and all he wanted was to curl back up in his bed. He didn't feel like this very often, but today was just a bit tiring all ready. He'd been kind of stressed lately. He'd just recently lost wife number four, and still had the tan from his wedding band. She'd found put one of Jethro's most personal secrets. She caught him one night all tangled up on the couch with another man. At first she'd just been shocked. Then angry. She'd walked right up and snacked him in the face. He sighed and stepped into the shower.

He'd been looking for the answer to his loneliness ever since Shannon had died. He'd only recently realized that a woman wasn't that answer. Gibbs needed a man in his life. He'd seen a few that he'd liked over the years, but they'd all either moved away of been killed or just not been interested. He'd found someone new to crush on now though. Tony DiNozzo.

Gibbs wasn't sure wasn't to sure what was so appealing about his young agent. Maybe it was his smile, or his ability to liven up any situation. It could be his silly jokes, or his deep green eyes. Whatever it was, Gibbs was sure he'd get over it. He had strict rules against dating coworkers, and Tony wasn't interested anywho. He was always looking at women. Tony was a notorious playboy there wasn't a night that Tony didn't get laid and then he'd come back to work and brag about his latest girlfriend. He had to admit it was slightly annoying and disheartening. He had to deal with it though. That was just Tony.

Gibbs was done getting dressed by five and got tho work by six. He had a cup of coffee in hand and got on the elevator. He knew his team would be waiting on him at their desks as usual. They always were in the mornings. He strutted in in his usual fashion, marching in and ordering them all to grab their gear. He threw the keys at Ziva, and decided to take a car of his own. He certainly didn't want to be in any car that agent David was driving. He just thought if be funny if he made Tony and Tim deal with it. He hid the smirk on his face by taking a sip of coffee and then just stood there. His phone rang, so he answered it, then frowned. "Wht do you mean?" He asked the man who had called him. He said a few things that were mostly profanity as the man spoke to him, and then slammed the recover down and huffed. "Never mind." He barked at his team and sat down. "We've just been ordered off that case." He hated it when things turned out to be our of their jurisdiction. They weren't even at the crime scene, so they'd just have to let that case go.!

Gibbs was sitting back at his desk and staring at his computer monitor. They had a 'sexual harassment' meeting to go to in thirty minutes, and he was hoping just as much as his team that they'd get a case so they didn't have to go. He didn't kernite agents see just how much he didn't want to go. He had to act like the responsible one here, so he'd just let them whine about it. Fornnow he was content staring at Tony. He seriously hoped Tony didn't notice, because, well, that would be embarrassing and he'd have to make an excuse for it. It was pretty hard not to though. Gibbs was kind of smitten. He just stayed in his lala land.

Tony's hand smacked his alarm clock to the ground when it went off that morning. He really didn't want to get up and go to work. He knew that if they didn't have a case then the team would be stuck going to a 'sexual harassment' meeting. And with their luck it would happen. He didn't want to go to that. Nobody wanted to!

Rolling over, he groaned and sat up, stretching. He picked his alarm clock back up and looked at the time. 4:30. Yep, definitely needed to get moving or he'd be late. Can't have that with Gibbs as a boss. He took a quick shower before dressing in a nice suit. Didn't want to wear a nice one and end up with it ruined, after all.

He arrived at work at 5:30. He sat at his desk and fired up the computer to finish yesterday's paperwork. Normally he'd get McGee to do it; him being the Probie and all. But, he needed something to distract him from his lastest relationship.

As time went by McGee and Ziva arrived. He wasn't surprised that went Gibbs arrived they had a case. That always seemed to happen. He was already standing and had his bag in hand as the boss tossed Ziva the keys. That just wasn't fair! He hated when she drove. It was a bit terrifying.

What did surprise him was the case was taken from them before they even left. That's never happened before. That sucked. Now they would probably have to go to that meeting. Mentally groaning, he dropped his bag and took his seat again. Every few minutes, his eyes darted to Gibbs, then around to make sure that nobody saw him looking at him, then back down to his desk.

He knew he shouldn't be watching his boss. It wasn't like he would have any chance of being in a relationship with him. That man had been married FOUR times. To WOMAN. So, there was no chance for him. Didn't stop him from staring sometimes. Just couldn't help himself.

Gibbs saw Tony looking at him and looked down. He thought Tony had caught him staring, not seeing that the other was acctully looking at him too. Ziva frowned. "Somthing wrong Gibbs?" She asked and he shook his head. "No. Nothing." He said quietly, wishing she'd just mind her own business. He sat there for a little while, looking for any case they could take to get put of this lecture. There was nothing he could find and so he knew they'd just have to endure it.

The time for the meeting had come, and Gibbs stood from his desk, walking towards the elevator, but not before shooting DiNozzo a glance. God that man was beautiful. "You coming?" He asked his agents blandly and Tom jumped up, follows closely by Ziva. "Come on Tony." He said softly, going over and making sure the agent got on the elevator with them.

Once every one had arrived, the lecture began. The man talking was incredibly boring, and within minutes Gibbs had tuned him out. He didn't need to hear this when he already knew all of it. "Tony, you'd best listen. You might learn something." Ziva said with a giggle. Gibbs shot her a glare. "Shush." He said and she snapped her mouth shut. He didn't want her picking on Tony. That was strictly his job, and only to flirt with him.

When Gibbs stood, he saw Tim and Ziva stand as well. He was already on his feet before Gibbs even spoke. He always stood when the older man headed towards the elevator. Just incase he was needed to follow. If he was needed, he would always have his boss' back.

He groaned to himself when the lecture started. He was really hoping to get out of this. He didn't need to be hear. He knew what counted as harassment. And since he's never been reported for it, he knew he didn't need to be here. But it wasn't like he was going to complain. At least, not in front of Gibbs. That wouldn't look good for him.

Gibbs thought he might die by the time this lecture was over. He was pretty sure his agents knew better than to sexually harass someone, and he wasn't sure why they had to attend this meeting. He crossed his arms and sighed in relief when they were allowed to leave the room and go back to work. He was the first one out, closely followed by Ziva and Tim. "Come on." He told them. His phone rang and he picked it up, listening to see go it was and what they wanted. He was pretty mad now. How come they were just now and didn't have one earlier. "Grab your gear." He said, his voice portraying how very annoyed he was. He threw the keys to Ziva and then turned to look at his team. "One of you ride with me, one with Ziva. Come on." He'd let them decide who rode with who.

Tony stopped listening to what was being said shortly after the meeting started. There was no point. They always said the same thing and this wasn't the first time the team was being forced to go. So, it didn't matter if he listened or not. The next thing he knew, it was over and people were leaving. He followed the team out and went to his desk when Gibbs' phone rang. He was already on his feet before the older man said anything, bag in hand. When he saw the keys being tossed to Ziva, he instantly went after Gibbs. There was no way he was riding with her!

Gibbs grinned when he saw that Tony was the the coming with him to the car. He was happy that it was him instead of Tim. Tim was a good agent, but slightly annoying at times. He was always talking geek speak. Tony was funny and made him smile. He'd just have t be sure he didn't say or do anything embarrassing. He really liked Tony and didn't want him to know it. Tony thought he was a hard-ass ex-marine, not a gay guy with a soft spot for his young agent. He got in the car and waited for Tony, taking off to the crime scene as soon as the other got in. This place was about thirty minutes away which meant he and Tony had a lot of time to talk. He was pretty sure that Tony would start a conversation.

Tony got in the car a moment after Gibbs. He buckled his seatbelt as the car started. While Gibbs' driving was better than Ziva's, it was better to be safe than sorry. For the next few minutes, he thought of something to say. He hated the silence. Plus sometimes he was able to make Gibbs smile. Even if it was just slightly. He just needed something to start the conversation. "So.. that was some lecture, huh?" He asked, trying to start a conversation.

Gibbs frowned. "I didn't really like it personally DiNozzo." He said, his voice calm and bot as harsh as usual. He was alone with Tony now. There was no need to pretend he wanted to be mean to his agent. "Got anything personal you want to talk about?" He asked, wanting to steer the conversation off of work and on to Tony. He wanted the man to have someone to talk to. "You know, I've been told I'm a good listener if you need me to lend an ear." He offered, wondering if Tony would actully even talk to him about what was going on in his life.

Tony wasn't surprised to hear that Gibbs didn't like the lecture. Nobody ever did. What did surprise him was the offer to talk. That was unexpected. But, there was no way he was talking to his boss about his problems. He didn't like talking to anybody about his problems. It was none of their business. "Nah. Nothing to talk about. Though I did go on an amazing date last night." Then he started making things up, talking until they arrived at the crime scene. Sure, he spent last night alone. But nobody actually needed to know that, right?

Gibbs cocked an eyebrow when Tony started talking about his date. He never liked listening to that kind of talk because of the jealousy it stirred up in him. He tried not to show it to much though if Tony looked hard enough, he'd see it. His hands had tightened their grip on the stirring wheel and his face had taken a much more serious look, envy glinting behind his sharp blue eyes. This was why Gibbs had never made a move on Tony. (and because of rule number 12) Tony was so interested in woman, and by god, Gibbs had no idea why. He himself wasn't particularly found of them. After so many unhappy marriages, he'd turned to men for comfort. They were stronger, not quite as emotional, and certainly not as bitchy. "Be careful with all of those women DiNozzo. They might bite." He said quietly, hoping Tony understood what he was trying to say.

"There is nothing wrong with getting bit every now and then, boss." Tony stated, clearly joking. He was sure that Gibbs would be able to tell that he was lying about his date. After all, Ziva and MeGee always seem to be able to. Not that he would tell them that they were right. So, if they can tell, then surely the boss could, right? If not, no big deal. When the arrived at the crime scene, he was instantly out of the car and grabbing his bag, ready to work and get his mind off of his problems.

Gibbs was glad when they got to the crime scene so he didn't have to talk about Tony's sex life anymore. He didn't like that kind of thing at all. "DiNozzo, take pictures of our dead body. Ziva, bag and tag evidence, McGee, talk to our suspect's mother who's in the house." He stormed off in his own little flurry of feistiness.

"Yes, boss." They all immediately said. Tony grabbed the camera and moved over to the body. He took pictures of the body from every angle as Ducky examined it. It didnt take to long to process the scene. Everybody was done within the hour. They started packing up as Ducky and Palmer loaded up the body into the van and headed back to base. Now they just had to wait for Gibbs to say they could go before they could head back.

Gibbs was talking to Ducky about cause of death and such, knowing he'd get even more answers about his corpse. He kept looking up at Tony who was taking pictures. Ducky seemed to notice what he was doing and laughed, pulling him to the side. "Careful Jethro. Don't be so very obvious my boy." He suggested and Gibbs cocked an eyebrow. "Obvious? About what exactly?" He asked, acting like he didn't know what Ducky was talking about.

Tony didn't notice Gibbs watching. He was more focused on doing his job. He wanted to get back to the base soon. Once he, McGee,, and Ziva were done, he went over to Gibbs. "Hey boss. Everything's done here." He told him. He would deal with Ziva's crazy driving if it meant he could leave right that moment.

Gibbs nodded at the news that the crimescene was already examined. "Alright then." He said quietly and went to get in his car. He didn't really mind who rode with him. He saw Tim was already in his car, clearly bit wanting to ride with Ziva again. He guessed turns were only fair. He got in and rode back to NCIS, ready to begin his daily tasks of checking on things and collecting evidence for his current case. This one was rather simple and he was pretty sure it would be rapped up quickly. The killer had been unprofessional and hadn't known exactly how to clean up after themselves. He knew that enough evidence to charge the killer on would be ready rather soon.

Tony was glad when Gibbs said they could leave. He saw Tim instantly go over to his car, which meant he was stuck eith Ziva. That would be fine. That just meant they would probably be back first. Though he did spend a moment trying to get her to let him drive, knowing she probably wouldn't give up the keys. When she did he was surprised, but he wasn't going to complain. They both got in and drove off, chatting the whole way back to the base.

Gibbs watched Tony and Ziva come in, staring partcularly hard at Tony. He frowned a little when he realized he was doing it and then turned away. He hadn't meant to stare. Why was he doing that souch lately? Maybe he needed to get it all out somehow. He'd leave early today and even let his team go home early. He needed some time off.

When they arrived back at the base, Tony and Ziva went tot their deskes to start sorting through evidence. That is, of course, after they dropped the evidence off with Abby. Normally, Tony would make jokes while they worked. At least, while Gibbs wasnKt there. But, he just wasn't in the mood. Luckily for him, Ziva didn't notice. He knew that McGee would if he were here. So he was glad he wasnKt at the moment.

Gibbs went to talk to Abby and then sent Tim back to finish up some paperwork. He got a good bit of evidence and even got a good list of suspects. He went up to the bullpen again and looked at all of his agents. "You all can go home early." He said, getting an odd stare from Ziva. "Well..? Go!" Gibbs said and got in the elevator. He knew they must think something was wrong with him.

Tony didn't look up when Tim came into the bullpen. He wanted to be prepaired when Gibbs asked if they had anything. When the boss did arrive and didnKt ask, he was kinda disappointed. But, he wasn't going to complain about going home early. Only when he was i his car on the way home did he realize that he would probably be alone for the rest of the night.

Gibbs went home and started working on his boat. He knew if any of his agents needed him they'd just come in. He always kept the front door unlocked and they all knew that. He was pretty lonely, but working on his boat helped. It got his mind off hid problems. Right now though, he was still thinking to much. About Tony mostly...it wasn't something easy to shake off. He, a badass marine, was gay for his own agent. Heck! He was falling for a much younger man which made it even worse.

When Tony arrived home, he called his boyfriend to come over. He wanted to make this work since this is his first male relationship since college. Eric arrived with half an hour and they went out for dinner. While they were gone, they talked about the relationship, fixing the problem. They went back to Tony's in a good mood. They sat on the couch and watched a movie. Eric ended up falling asleep, but Tony woke him when it was over. Looking at the clock, he decided it was time for bed. So they went up to his room and stripped down to their boxers before slipping under the covers and going to sleep.

at about midnight, Gibbs realized he was going to be alone for tonight. He went upstairs and washed off and then slipped into his bed. He was think about Tony while he tried to go to sleep. He knew he was Pitiful for feeling the way he did, but it couldn't be helped. He sighed and eventually dozed off.
