So, yeah. I think I vaguely remember there being a bank here. Memories of my old mene days are a bit hazy.

I remember the bank too. I also remember there were a lot of glitches with it and people would abuse those glitches to get a ton of gold so they had to take it away. That happened back in 2007.

What is the purpose of a bank on avatar sites exactly? Does it hide your gold so others can't see it or... ?

The bank was so that you could hide your gold. Also having gold in the bank earned you interest. At least that is how it worked the short time we had one. Like stated before there were problems with the way it was coded and such and people started to abuse the glitches and I think someone actually hacked into it as well. So those bad people ruined the bank for everyone.

Ah I see. I've always wondered what the purpose of banks on avatar sites was. I've never really been on a site that has a bank feature. I know a few that do, but I never really stuck around to explore them.

I've been here since 2008 to be honest. It'll be four years in Oct.

I joined April '09, right during the Easter event. P: Can't believe it's been three years already! XD

I know, I don't feel like I've been here that long!

My 5 year anniversary is in July XDDD I feel so old lol

I know I've been here long enough to remember when the site was always busy. I miss that. But yes....times flies too fast.

Although I often wish I had joined in 07 when my friend tried to push me into joining.

I miss the site being busy as well.

I still kick myself from time to time about how stupid I was when I first joined.
I was invited here by a friend on Gaia. Well I signed up and I didn't stick around because 2007 was the first year that Gaia had a St. Patrick's Day event. So instead of collecting the awesome super rares here, since I joined during the event I spent all my time on Gaia and kind of forgot about this place. Then I returned in June of 2007 and stuck around ever since.

I quit gaia before then. But in 2007 when a friend had invited me here it was shortly after another site I was on had a shit ton of drama that caused me to quit and I didn't want more drama. Eventually I realize I'm just most at home on avi sites xP

That's understandable. I try to avoid the drama as much as possible. It might also be why I can never get at home on other avi sites that I join.

Besides this one I've never seen an avi site that didn't have drama.......and also a superiority system.

Yeah, the whole superiority system crap doesn't fly with me.

Mene really has a great community and I love it here.
