They've just come out with a new album (yesterday or the day before), and I'm loving it! And hating it. I'm having mixed feelings towards it.
Of course, I like the songs that they had already released (Super Hero, Day by Day, One Step, What's Your Name?, You Got That Something I need), and I like the newer songs too (Van Gogh, Innocent and Young, Fly To Love), but I feel that they changed their style with the newer ones. I mean, their voices still fit beautifully with it, and the songs are marvellous, but I really like it when it was just them, their instruments and their voices, and slow, soft songs, not these hyped up super pop-y songs where they've suddenly added other people playing instruments.
Again, still having mixed feelings, 'cause the songs really are great, and perfect for Sam, Teo and Yun, but it just.... I dunno, not them at the same time.
Anyone else having mixed feelings?
Korean Ver. Fly to Love-
Eng. Ver. Fly to Love-
Korean Ver. How Nice Would It Be (their debut song)-
Eng. Ver. Super Hero (eng. version of how nice,etc)-
I think I linked to my playlist, so if you look through there, you'll find all their original songs. And some of their covers too (I think just one cover though). ^-^
AND ON ANOTHER NOTE:
Teo's hair. I love it. I want it. I fangirled over it when I saw it. It so beautiful!!! >.<
I've only heard a couple songs by Lunafly. I heard them when I started listening to a korean radio station. Let's see...I like Clear Day, Cloudy Day best. I also like How Nice it Would Be. I can't remember if I've heard anything else by them. I think they're alright, but maybe not my style so much.
I just watched the video for Fly to Love. It's a cute vid and Teo is adorable. I'm eh on the song.
Yea, Clear Day Cloudy Day is one of my favourites too. I also really like one of their new songs, the English is called Van Gogh, the Korean is called Kisses (ugh....why such stupid names??? ;A; )
yea....that song is just....eh. It's catchy, but annoyingly peppy. =_="
Teo's always cute. Never has he not been cute. I love Teo.
Still can't choose a bias in that group...it's between Yun and Teo.... ; ^ ;
And yea, their music isn't exactly my style either. If I hadn't watched them on youtube doing little live performances on the streets, I would've never started liking them. They just look so happy when preforming....it's not something you see that often anymore. And then, with their old style, I just loved how they could could just randomly go out in the streets, with their guitars (and Teo's drum thing-y that I forget the name of), and just start playing. That's why I fell in love.
It's funny though, if it weren't for K-Pop I wouldn't be into pop at all. I'm more of a rock person. ^-^;
ah, drives me nuts that there are such different korean and english titles sometimes!
I like really peppy cutesy stuff a lot of the time, but sometimes it just doesn't work. it's real hit or miss with me.
It can be really hard picking a bias. I do think Teo is really cute though. I wouldn't pick a bias for Lunafly though because I don't know anything about them.
I do agree that it's great to see happy musicians. I've fallen in love with music like that before. Because really, they should be having fun. I would be if I had the musical talent.
I used to totally be the same way. I was listening to jrock and metal before a korean friend introduced me to kpop. Of course, now i've been obsessing in the kpop land for long enough that I'm getting into more pop in general. but when I started with kpop, I couldn't stand half of the songs that are now favorites of mine. culture/music shock or something.
Teo is cute~ haha, it's quite alright, even Sam thought Teo was a girl when they first met xD and then when the group was asked if the other members were girls who they would date, Yun and Sam both said Teo because he was pretty, and then Teo asked if he could just date himself xD though the second time the question was asked Sam changed his answer to Yun because he just can't handle Teo xD
I'm not crazy about k-pop in general either, but I'm in love with two of the rookie groups that debuted last year among the large amount that debuted last year. LUNAFLY is amazing~ their english covers are really good too :D
I've been listening to this one for a while on repeat now, haha:
oh, thanks for sharing that vid, Aoi! It's quite good. I haven't listened to much of Lunafly's music except what I've heard on the radio, but they're good. I'm pretty crazy about kpop and it's hard to keep up with everything.
I also love that Teo said he would date himself. That's hilarious. That kind of comment makes me think of Key (Shinee).
I love watching interviews that the boys have done, and since Sam is a DJ on arirang radio i try to tune in when I can, though his show is at 4pm - 6pm kst, which is 3am-5am est so...haha. I managed to stay awake to listen to his entire first week, i made it through half of the second week, and now i only make sure that i can at least tune in on monday's show since Teo and Yun are on the show with Sam every monday :3
Yea, k-pop is hard to keep up with. I'll like the occasional song, like...right now I can't stop listening to BtoB's Second confession xD it's just such a cute song :)
this part of an interview they did was pretty cute xD
the questions were interesting, haha.
Teo's obsession with food is also really cute, haha. The radio show is supposed to be a music show, but it always ends up on the topic of food somehow xD
I like interviews of groups that I like as well. It's cool that you're so knowledgeable about Lunafly. I don't think I could have the dedication to listen to that radio show at that hour!
I do my best to keep up though. when I have time, I hang around kpop related threads and learn new things every day! oh! I just listened to 2nd Confession yesterday. It's quite good.
I love questions like this. I'll have to watch the vid
haha is it? I tend to really be focused on things I like, so i try to find out what i can. It's just, they work so hard and they just seem like really cool people. and their dedication to their fans and their work is just brilliant to me, haha. it feels nice to be able to support them somehow even if it's just little things.
i actually don't know much about k-pop news, except for things that randomly pop up on my facebook feed, haha I'm sure if there's a group you really like, you at least follow their music and stuff :) with LUNAFLY, it's that they're still relatively new that I'm able to keep up with them.
i follow NU'EST as well, but I can't keep up with their interviews or extra stuff because they've just done so much. LUNAFLY hadn't been promoting so much on music shows and stuff since they were more focused on their music. And LUNAFLY does English songs as well, so that's an added plus for me, haha.
I really love how with most kpop, the idols are very accessible. it's easy to find interviews and variety shows and I can get to know them. That's so important. Falling in love with the music is fine, but it's even better if I can fall in love with the people as well. I'm more invested.
yeah, I was able to keep up with Nu'est for a while too because of that. newness makes it much easier. I unfortunately have gotten to the point where I try to keep up with more groups than I can even count. ^^' Seems you don't follow as many, so it might be easier for you.
I did enjoy the video. But Sam is driving me crazy. He looks SO familiar. I feel like I've met him before, like he has the same face as someone I know on campus, but I can't remember who. He's really cute though. It was a good interview. I liked the questions that were asked.
that is true. it's great that we can get to know the actual people that they are. it makes the relationship between fan and idol that much better i feel.
haha yea, definitely easier for me. not my wallet though, haha. I've made it my goal to buy every nu'est album that comes out, and any LUNAFLY ones too. somehow ended up getting nu'est's second mini album special edition and a nu'est 2013 calendar, lol. my poor wallet.
he took part in a show, uhm, birth of a great star i think it was called? but that's cool :D hopefully you can remember? i hate when that happens to me
And there are quite a few songs that are written as a thank you for the fans dedication, like Thank You by Kim Kyu Jong that actually uses fans singing in the recording. Somehow it makes me feel special and of course it's nice to know that the artist love their fans as much as the fans love them.
oh wow, that is not good for the wallet! I only have one kpop album (Sherlock by Shinee) and my mom bought it for me. I buy mostly through itunes. That nu'est calendar sounds great though. I love my Sherlock album because it's got the photoshoots in it and a pocket sized gorgeous picture of Key!
hrm, I don't know that show, I don't think. Unless that's the same show Nu'est was on, but I thought that was Making of a Star. Actually, I think I remember now unless I'm just tricking myself into thinking this is it. But his face is kinda like Kurt from Glee??
I like having the physical copy of the albums. I used to buy DBSK albums when they were still five. I have almost all the korean albums and a couple of the Japanese ones, haha. I have a bunch of albums, but that's pretty much all my money is spent on besides books and food.
I'm actually not too sure of the name of the show I actually never watched Glee? I only know Darren Criss who played (plays?) Blaine because I was a fan from Starkid.
I have no need for albums. I have nothing to play them on. I only use my ipod or my computer if I'm on it. I can't understand how people need to have a physical album. it just takes up space.
My best friend is super obsessed with Glee. I've never seen a single episode, so I can't be sure if I'm right. I just feel like there's a similarity to a picture I've seen.
My ipod is shot, haha, i had a classic and the screen, jack, and battery have all been replaced and it's taped up because the clip holding the front and back together broke, but now the battery is shot again so I've just given up on it and use my cellphone to listen to music. I'm always on my laptop too...I don't know. It's true they do take up space, but I guess for me personally, it just feels nice to have a physical copy instead of downloading it offline or only having a digital copy...and i like pestering my family by putting a bunch of my cds into the car's cd player since then they have to listen to them...and i'm like never in the car but they don't switch them out xD
there might be, haha, i can't say if you're right or wrong
my ipod broke because the power button is stuck! I can't turn it on.
do you feel you have more possession of the song, or something? I rarely like an entire album, so I buy songs randomly here and there. lately I've been liking bands more so that I will own more than 3 or 4 songs by them.
if it's a group that i really like, i tend to be more biased so i will like their music no matter what, but i don't know. i've never really thought about why i like having the physical copy. Most of the time i've only heard the title track before i buy an album and sometimes not even that because i've been preordering albums lately.
hmm i don't see it, but maybe that's just from me being used to Sam pulling silly faces, haha.
