An ancient artifact is found that has an unknown code written on it. SHIELD has spent months trying to figure it out but hasn't had any luck. What could be so important about this artifact ?

Energy Blasts: this is normally down with a wooden like conductor to ensure accuracy. Though she has had a blasting rod for this purpose she had been forced to use other unconventional object. Her favorite one was a hockey stick.
Spell Casting: Spells are a series of words that, when said correctly in a certain order, alter the fabric of reality to varying extents.
Force-Field Generation
Healing: of minor sickness and wounds. Can not heal someone's severed arm but does know a great potion for blood rejuvenation.
Creation: Create anything and everything from nothing. This is limited to smaller object or simply restructuring something molecules. Think water to wine ((Super sorry if the reference offense you when referring to magic.))
Telekinesis
Illusion: The power to create illusions. Depending on how much energy she puts into it depends on how much of an effect her illusions can have on the physical world.


Scrying: a magic practice that involves seeing things psychically in a medium it is also used for tracking other magical signals.
Magic users essentially have unlimited possibilities for how they use their power, with only their skill, personal power-level, imagination/knowledge, and/or morality to define the borders. So she is always training to master new forms of magic.


Bio:Before she was found by SHIELD and hired on as a consultant- consultant only as she had reminded them numerous times- Lilian ran a small Magical book store in Portland Oregon. The kind of place that caters to actual practices, teens going through their dark phases, and those of the Pagan religion but really had no magical talents to speak of. Hiring out her particular set of skills as a sort of psychic detective.Now mostly she works for SHIELD full time but the shop is still in her name just run by her one and only employee.

Deanna was feeling tense sitting here in the front office of SHIELD. She had agreed to come but hadn't really agreed to work with them yet. Deanna usually avoided working with government agencies but had a feeling she wouldn't be able to say no to this so easily.

Four inch heels were not the shoes of choice when storming into a government building. Of course when she choice the black heels she wasn't expecting to be pulled out of her date by a SHIELD agent and rushed over to New York. Her once softly curled hair was piled in a messy bun at the top of her head and she had taken out her contacts. The tight black lace dress was still far from appropriate for a meet at SHIELD but if Fury had an issue then he could learn what the words call ahead mean. Dropping down on one of the hard plastic chairs in the waiting room Lilian smiled over at the brown haired woman sitting in her normal seat.

She looked to be around ate twenties like Lilian and didn't appear to be one of the normal suit wearing agents. In fact she wasn't giving off the same vibes as any agent she had ever met. New consultant?




" Director Fury, Miss Ross and Miss Tyler are down stair waiting." The secretary buzzed in after the two handlers had left her office. The director gathered up the file on the artifact that they still hadn't gotten a read on and headed for the elevator.

Deanna gave a nervous smile to the woman who had just walked in and wondered if she had been pressured to help as well. " They are going to seriously going to have to give me several good reasons to help them. " She angrily thought since she really liked her job back in Miami. Deanna shuddered at the thought of the last time she had helped a government agency with a case and hoped it didn't turn out like that had.

Some of the agents walking about gave slight head nods in her directions, and one young man who worked in the R&D department actually waved. They had bumped into each other a couple of time while she was working a case for SHIELD in Italy. Glancing over once again at the other young woman in the waiting Lilian let her irritation at Fury go- or at least put it on a back burn it'll the man showed up him self. " So what are you in for?"


"Everything still quiet down there?" the ear piece buzzed before Agent Romanov's voice answered back. "There's bean no sign of activity for the artifact." There was brief paused before the former Russian's voice ct back in. "I believer Barton may be bored." Nicolas Fury's response was a snort and to hit the lobby button on his personal elevator. He had a world class hacker and a high level magic user sitting in his lobby and he wasn't in the mood to test how long they would sit still.

Lilian he know could be counted on to not act like child for at least one hour unsupervised unless she was on assignment. In his experience hackers had shorter attention spans.

" I was recruted because of my reputation. How was I supposed to know my accidental hacking of online criminal enterprise would be interesting? All I was doing was helping my FBI contact check for illegal movie uploads. " Deanna said with a sigh. " I work for an IT company and sometimes we find things that aren't supposed to be there. " She explained.

"Hacker nice." Dark eyebrows raised over the rim of her rectangular glasses. Lilian and computers had an agreement. They don't suddenly break on her for no reason and she wouldn't hit them with a blast of magic strong enough to leave smoke and fried circuits. Reaching out her hand for the other woman Lilian gave her the same smile she gave customers at the shop. " I'm SHEILD's on call witch. But if you could refrain from using that word that'd be great. I prefer magic user." True there was like a twenty percent chance that the woman wouldn't bust out laughing at her- she was use to it. Still Lilian had spent her childhood and most of her teen years ridding what she was. She had out grown that along with her crush on Tony Smith in her senior year.

" Really? That sounds awesome actually. " Deanna said with a smile. " I'm Deanna Tyler. " She said and offered her hand. Deanna had a feeling someone would be here soon but hoped it wasn't anyone who might be difficult to convince. " So how long have you worked for SHIELD?" She asked having a feeling soon that someone would be here soon. " I so hope they have food during this meeting."Deanna thought to herself and was beginning to feel bored.

Before she could respond the elevator gave a soft ding and out walked Directer Fury rocking the all black look again Lilian noticed. She new that look on his face, it was his, ' I don't have time for your bullshit so promptly shut up.' Normally that meant she was getting shipped off to another country." I'm Lilian Ross and if your here for the same thing I am. our escort is here." Nodding her head over the the man fast approaching them. Standing she tugged on the ends of her dress pull ling it down a little more. It wasn't made for walking around in.


Oh good they were chatting just what he needed. He had an unknown artifact sitting at the bottom of his base
and his two best leads to finding out what it was was sitting gossiping like little girls.

" Nice to meet you." Deanna said and suddenly felt nervous when the gentleman entered the room . He must be the director. I do hope I don't get yelled at for sending that pizza to that van that had been in front of my house."Deanna thought and was now feeling dizzy. One reason for that was because she was nervous, the other was that she hadn't eaten while she had been on the plane.

Director Nicolas Fury dealt with a lot of shit in his line of work, mainly babysitting a bunch of over powered toddlers that he brought together.Yet the universe continued to throw more his way. Now in the form of an unidentified piece of tablet made out of a substance they couldn''t identify With symbols n it that didn't make sense to SHIELD's best and brightest. He called in back up.

" Ross, Miss Tyler Follow me." Turning he headed back towards the pirate elevator.
Looking over her shoulder at the hacker Lilian rolled her dark green eyes, "hello Director Fury please don't mind my outfit I was just out having a social life before one of your lovely SHIELD agents stanched me out of my date. "Sarcasm laced every word as made disgruntled face behind his back. She maybe a powerful caster but she was pretty sure through sheer will power alone magic just wouldn't affect the man in front of her.

Heather followed the two to the elevator and was feeling nervous. " Director Fury sir? If it's alright to ask, who will we be working with?" She asked remembering the agent on the plane had told her that a higher level agent would be assisting her. Heather was used to working with others on projects but usually it was with someone she knew.

In the basement level of SHIELD in cased in glass shielding was a relic found by a archaeologist. At passing glance it would appear to be a regular stone table, made of a substance that would appear to be clay and broken around the edges. Worn down by centuries. The hieroglyphics burned into the stone weren't of any language SHIELD experts could decipher.

From her spot in the coroner the ex-Russian spy watched the scientist work on trying to decode the writing. Fury had said he was bringing in experts but she had the feeling they were approaching another Loki incident. Glancing up at the scaffolding her folded arms tightened briefly. She wouldn't let it be like last time.


"Until we know, more each other Miss Tyler." A soft ding announced the arrival of the elevator and without waiting for the two consultant. "We have an unidentified artifact that needs second look. As you known Miss Ross like all of our cases this is under the highest level of confidentiality."

Clint was up in the scaffolds on his usual perch and looked at the table nervously. The last time there had been an ancient artifact he had been put under the control of Loki. He signaled Natasha when he heard the elevator landing and slid down the rope." Sounds like our experts are here." He said and remembered seeing Lilian Ross' name on the briefing he had been given.

Deanna nodded and tensed up when she realized they would be in a basement. She didn't like basements very much since they reminded her of the tornado's back in Minnesota. Hurricanes didn't bother her as much but wondered why she had always been terrified during those sort of storms.

Nodding her head at Clint's words Natasha watched the lights above the elevator slowly count down. She had heard about one of the experts. A Lilian Ross who had been consulting for Shield since the battle in Manhattan. Other agents had worked with her, and if she wasn't mistaken Clint might have as well.

The ride down to the basement was silent after Fury had handed both of them folders containing all the info they had on the artifact. Lilian flipped through her folder, it didnt look like any magical artifact she had studied and though there was something that tingled in the back of her mind when she looked at the picture she couldn't place the feeling.


When the metal doors opened she had to admit that SHIELD had really out done them selves on the secret government agency feel. It felt like a lad out of a bond movie. all silver and metal with people walking around with lab coats and tablets, some bent over computers. Th agents there for their brawn and not there brain where easy to pick out as well. All wrapped up in SHIELD issued cat suits.


(( So sorry. I responded to this in my mind while at work and when I got home guess I thought had already posted. I won't let it happen again. Normally read my threads at work then post when get home but things have been crazy at work. First our weekend catering chief has a family emergence and m stuck covering for him. Now they have me training the perp girl fro hell. and it's cutting into the time I'm suppose to be doing paper work....sorry about ranting but it's been driving me crazy))

Deanna looked over the paper work and was puzzled. " The markings look a bit like runes, but more like a hybrid with Egyptian hieroglyphics. " She said. " Is it possible that this is an artifact from Earth but made from an outside group ?" She asked. Deanna looked around seeing the different types of people in the room and how focused they were. She had a hard time being focused most of the time and nothing she tried had worked for her.

" You mean Asgard? " Clint asked having seen the markings. " It reminds me too much of the Tesseract. It's not a door but it seem like it could be a key if the markings were solved. " He added feeling tense.

Lilian looked over the photos again, "It's nothing like a Norse based language though I do agree with Deanna it sure isn't from earth." She was tempted to remind Fury that her expertise was solely rooted in magic...from this planet. Still she couldn't say until she actually got a live look at this thing. She didn't know every magical artifact in history but magic gave off a feel and there was a slight tingle along her skin but that could be caused by anther high level magic user.

" I'll have you two rest for a bit unless you want to start?" Maria asked since she knew Lilian had traveled a distance and Miss Tyler had been living in Miami for a few months. She thought it odd that the location had said Brooklyn but knew sometimes the FBI didn't update their files.

" I'll start and work for a little bit. " Deanna said not really feeling tired. She wanted to sleep but knew that after all this she Woukd have been too wired to relax.

" I'm with Deanna. I'd like to see this tablet." Shutting the file in her hand Lilian smiled at Agent Hill. She had met the woman several times and each time she as a straight faced and catsuit clad as she was now. She had always had a feeling that the woman didn't really belie in what she did. After studying the files on Loki and what his glowing stick was able to do she didn't see how anyone could doubt magic. True her's was an earth based magic but if what she had gotten from the fie were correct it had the same base principles as his.

Agent Hill called for the security team to bring out the tablet. She didn't fully believe this tablet had magic abilities but she had thought the same about he tesseract. " Hope 20 minutes is alright for now. Director Fury feels that having time limits prevents the chance of it being stolen. " She said.

Deanna looked at the tablet and felt really uneasy. She remembered a story her grandpa had told her when she was 9 that was about a place that had magic stone that the Norse Gods used. He never said what it was used for and had never told her that again " It is interesting. " Deanna said trying not to look tense.
