Hello my fellow gamers!
Just out of curiosity does anyone play SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic)?
I really love it, although I've never played WoW, many people converted from WoW to SWTOR. I think SWTOR has a great start and has the potential of being better than WoW.
Anyways if there are any who play do you like the the Republic more or the Empire.
I personally like the Empire more cosmetically, but I would have to argue that the smugglers do look pretty bad ass.

I haven't played it yet, but I'm getting awfully close to starting. My best friend and her whole family are gamers and have trying to get me to switch from WoW for ages.
Her dad goes through phases - he went from Eve to EverQuest II to SWTOR - but he seems really enthusiastic about it. He was particularly impressed by how in-depth the storyline and your personal morality choices are. He said it reminded him of a single-player game.

I played it very briefly during the beta. I'm on the fence about it.
It's not "mmo" enough in my opinion. From what I could tell, it was a Bioware game with some online aspects.
Which don't get me wrong, Bioware makes fantastic games, but SWTOR plays too much like a single player game.
I already play WoW and don't plan on quitting any time soon and don't really want to pay a subscription to another game.

I wish it was strictly offline and single player. I hate MMOs.

I just bought it a couple of weeks ago and love it! Some of my friends from other games have converted so I had a guild to go to and people to play with. Everyone has been really nice and helpful in and out of guild. There is a great community.
If you are into roleplaying there are a lot of active RP servers and guilds.
The PvP is great because you don’t get stuck in 10 lvl tiers. Everyone is "bumped" to the same level and it is really challenging and fun.
The story lines are really cool, giving the game a more "single player" feel like skyrim or mass effect. All quest givers have voice overs and you can control how good or evil you want to be. In fact you get bonuses if you are either super good (light side) or super evil (dark side.)
I had NO interest in Star Wars at all - until I tried it. I have never been a crazy fan of the movies or lore or Sci-fi in general, but the game has a "fantasy feel" to it that appeals to me. It is fast paced and challenging and full of people to group with.
I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys MMOs.

I like it I play kotor and i like star wars a lot the story line is good you can be on empire or republic side and what character you make you can be evil or good. But there is problems with it all the cool stuff you be a sub for and it kinda sucked but i love the game you meet different people good or bad.
The severs are good and the gameplay I have a laptop and i play it on there a lot so I'm a laptop gamer mostly but I'm used to it a lot. So you can get lags a lot but most of the time you work alone but I think it is better to play with friends then work alone. This game as it goods and its bads but I love it and I would play it but warning you might want to get it from it website it is better that way.
