I'm new here! But I love pixel art!
So, I made this dress:



I'll be very happy to get responses, advices, questions...

-I use my own palette
-I use Photoshop
-I use a bamboo tablet
-I practice pixel for about 2 years.

I'm fond of beautiful long dresses... But I also love fashionable and casual dresses.
Feel free to ask me something special!

I'll soon make more colors of this first dress :)

I'm not very helpful with female items as I'm more geared towards dressing up male avatars.

You're free to use your own palette, of course. New palettes can be created if the items work best in them. (Don't tell jelly I told you this, though. She'd come after my hide.) However, you're right in that it'd be easier for uniformity and cohesion if the existing palettes are used. There are a few more in the stores not listed in the thread I believe, as they're newer ones.

Also, just in case, the light source for the Mene avatars come from roughly the avatar's top right.

Those are looking great! The lighting is coming from our right, rather than the avatar's right though.
To remember it more easily, think of the light as coming from the direction the avatar is facing.

Wow, I love it! The Easter one if my favorite. I really like the hairstyle as well. The messy bun is uber cute and quite different from the other hairstyles we currently have on the site.

I like the texture on that red dress, very elegant! I wonder if the bottom is too straight cut though? It looks like the draped fabric is oddly cut off at in the middle...

You can easily practice pixel art with a mouse you know.
Maybe not on a 3000px document but on menewsha base it would be okay!

Pixel art, like vector isn't real drawing (tomatoes in 3, 2, 1....)
No seriously, you control every little thing in pixel/vector, your hand movements doesn't matter, and most of the people even feel more confortable with a mouse.

Or maybe I didn't understand anything and you are on a tablet = I pad? :3

No you understood! I was talking about a drawing tablet. I really should. I just have no idea where to start. To google!

If you have no idea, you can always try to reproduce real life clothes, the one you dream about!
Or maybe some food :D Or some animals stuff like ears?

OMG they are soo adorable and you're pretty quick in pixelling too o.0 I like to pixel too and I use a mouse, it's much more easier than a tablet ^^ but I haven't yet tried to pixel for mene those emerald colored frock is simply awesome! I hope they come into shops quite soon :D

Yes I'm quick... I usually doll on candybar base (here) , Mene one is smaller and I love dress so I draw it all the time...

Yesterday I was went "for few hours" at my school open doors... It turn that I left for 12 hours, staying all day, helping cleaning and went to the bar with my friends AND teachers.

Soo no news XD

Today I'll doodle your phenix, draw for some contest and for school so I guess the steampunk dress will wait ^^
