Bricks on Sticks! Because Xavi's insane. The title has nothing to do with the plot and that's how we like it here!

This is a PRIVATE roleplay, starting with three members: Xavirne, ISOS_Duke, (potentially Ginkadia if she so chooses later) and moi, the beautiful and wonderful Artifex. But enough about my stunning eyes and engaging personality, this is a roleplay!

Invite ONLY. We are not looking for people so please don't ask.

It was a warm day, though the breeze had a hint of coolness to it and a touch of moisture as well. It would probably rain by the end of the day but by the comforting feel of the sun there were probably no clouds in the sky. People would be taken by surprise.
The breeze had a taste of pine to it which meant the wind was coming from the north through the forest by campus. It would be a cold rain, better make sure not to stick around after class.

Most thought it a waste, why would he of all people sit next to the window? Why not give it to someone who could appreciate it? Horatio sighed a little and rubbed his eyes, just because they were sightless didn't mean he couldn't feel them and what he wondered was why he'd ever sit away from the window? Just because he couldn't see the third story view didn't mean he couldn't appreciate the warm sun, the cool breeze and the sounds of birds heading south for the winter.

People these days, they don't even know what they're missing. Without sight they think they might as well sit in a small dark room and cry. Well Horatio wasn't one for that, those rooms were musty and needed some severe dusting. Plus they often held a faint scent of rat urine in the air, disgusting.

What had the teacher just said? Oh good, the end of class. He didn't even know why he was there. College was supposed to be a choice right? To go to school or start your life. But what is a blind kid supposed to do with his life? Become a musician? Cliche. Successful businessman? Yeah right. Carpenter? Master of Kung Fu? Neuroscientist? Let's get real here. There aren't that many jobs for the blind.

So here he was, taking good old Psyche 101 with the rest of the world who didn't know what to do with their lives. And thank God it was over... for the day at least.

Introducing Serk and Calister.

Routinely each morning Calister would be tasked with awakening the famous Serk. He had grown quite popular these days due to his unnaturally attractive looks. White locks with baby blues and a slightly sun-kissed tan was the in thing, apparently. Perhaps that British-sounding accent of his helped his case too. Either way, Serk's fame radiated off his looks but it essentially started with his genius. Serk was the creator of a new technology for freezing things. The technology was able to entrap something flawlessly in ice, thus preventing it from dying or rotting. It was a preservation tool, more or less. The secret to his success was actually in his blood. You see, Serk wasn't a normal being like all imagined him to be. In fact, he was much more than that. He was of the vampire nature. Only unlike some vampires, Serk could age, granted he couldn't really look much older than 50 due to plastic surgeons and staying super fit. But those are just technicalities.

The forty-three year old let a growl slip from his lips when he felt the presence of his green-haired butler. Calister, like Serk, was also very famous. Calister went and did everything with Serk for he was his personal assistant and protector. Calister's signature look -- green hair, yellow eyes -- also made him very flamboyant and the love-interest of many media stations. He was actually interviewed by several fashion companies to be a model. Serk, being the ass that he is, agreed and Calister makes an appearance on runways about once a year. Obviously, the agreement was purely for Serk's own pleasure.

"It's noon, sir. I suggest you awaken before you stay up all night. Again." His voice was cold and semi-robotic sounding. "I know you're awake. There's no following me," his hand ripped the sheets from the bed, thus exposed a buck ass nude Serk. "Commando? I should have assumed as much."

"I was too lazy. And everyone knows Tuesdays are pantless nights."

"I do not follow these rituals so not everyone knows."

"You knew, you just chose to ignore."

Silence washed over the green one. "F--- you." With that, he clicked his heels together before making his grand exit which, of course, required him to rip the door from its hinges and fling it at Serk.

Dodging for his life, Serk found himself laying on the floor. Turning his head around to watch the butler exit, he growled. "Oh I hate that guy." With a moan, he rolled over before dressing himself and getting ready for yet another day.

As he made his way down the stairs, he found a letter nicely places on his end table. "Cal, what's this?" His eyes didn't recognized the writing and his nose didn't pick up on a familiar scent. "Who sent this?"

"Might I suggest opening it," appearing in the doorway, he slid his arms over his chest. "Looks to be an invitation. Shall I get your tux ready?"

"Too formal. This appears to be an informal gathering."

"Ah, so the suit and red tie."

"You know me so well."

"I live to serve you, sir."

"Fetch me the paper?"

"I'm not your dog."

"PWEASE!"

"It's on the kitchen table along with your Earl Grey tea and buttered toast."

With the invitation in hand as he made his way to the table, the white-haired vampire wondered why he was getting such a mysterious invite. It was oddly cryptic and a part of him refused to attend the meeting. And yet, a part of him dared to be a part of the danger and the adventure.

Just as the teacher was dismissing class, a loud thud reverberated off the desks that surrounded a red-headed female, letting those closest to her know that her head hitting the desk hurt more than the groggy reaction she gave it made it seem. Fingers groping at her scalp, Constance rifled her fingers through long strands of hair to pull them out of her blurry vision as she was met with water color people staring at her, a few giggling but packing up and leaving, not giving the situation a second thought.

Leaning back in her chair, legs sticking out beyond the front of it as she looked about the few remaining students. Her desk sat nearly smack dab in the middle of the room, in a class she clearly didn't have much of an interest in; a thought that was backed by a big yawn the woman let out as she stretched her body across the back of her chair causing her to slide further down on it. Scratching her stomach for a moment, Constance caught the teacher shaking his head and smirked a bit; she knew that she was difficult to teach but she just really wasn't that interested in school so in her mind it was just a waste of energy to really try and excel in it.

After the teacher left, the only people remaining in the class were the two that people either avoided or they went out of their way to avoid other people. One of those people was Constance, which meant that the other was Horatio, a boy that didn't seem to show any interest with getting along with anyone in the class, but at the same time wouldn't give them the time of day when they would try to give him a hard time. Even though the red head stretched once again as she stood up, that didn't stop her from planting her head on the male's desk after she weaved her way over to him.

"Gooood morning Horatio," she called in a sing-song voice as she rolled her eyes to look up at him, a happy yet sleepy smile on her face. It was almost like ritual that she would come pester the boy, and luckly him, they shared most of their classes together.

"-_- Hello Constance" Horatio replied in a monotone fashion. He tucked his last book in his bag and made sure all the zippers were closed before throwing it over his shoulder and pulling out his walking stick to make a B-line for the exit. "If you will excuse me, I have many things to do tonight" there was a stupid party his parents were throwing that night. He didn't even remember what they were celebrating, perhaps it was his last A in chemistry. Seriously, by College you would think that they got tired of celebrating every little thing but there was no end to the excuses they would come up with to throw a party.Of course all of his classmates from every damn class were invited but Horatio was trying his best not to remind anyone of it. Especially the ever persistent Constance.

Constance watched the boy for a moment before running by her desk, grabbing her own bag and slinging it over her shoulder as she went. Catching up to the surprisingly quick boy, she smile as she draped an arm over his shoulder. "Oh come now, it's not like we won't be heading to the same place then!" Taking her arm off his shoulder, she shoved her hand into her pocket to pull out her phone, looking at her schedule that was saved on it. "Like I would forget such an important gathering for my best friend." Sliding her thumb over the touch screen, eyes scanning over the information until she was satisfied and tucked the electronic device back into her pocket.

"You should be a little more excited about it at the very least!" She chimed happily, both hands in her pockets at this point. "At least your parents like doing this sort of thing and let you invite your classmates over."

Horatio sighed, "There's nothing exciting about a massively expensive event where the rich and famous gather to stuff their faces with escargot and brag about their many, boring adventures" he stated, though clearly he did not think any of that was quite as interested at it would sound to someone else. Honestly, he thought it would discourage the girl.

Heading down the hall he could hear several people speaking about. Something about hoping there would be champagne and other fancy booze to get smashed on. He tried to ignore them, after all, he was trying to get home before it started... raining.

Just as he was hoping for it, it was moments after stepping outside that the rain began to pour, adding a little extra irritation to his day because of course, he had not thought to bring an umbrella that morning. His place was only a few blocks away and he always insisted on walking so unfortunately there was no car waiting for him.

"Pu-lease," Constance sighed as she lifted her head to look at the ceiling. "For someone who's never been to something like that, it's a pretty big deal." Folding her hands behind her head, eyes returning to watching the people mill about before the odd duo, the girl was silent for a few rare moments. She could hear others talking but didn't really care, her thoughts were drifting and wandering as she was playing out different scenarios in her head about what was going to happen at the party. Granted, many of those day dreams involved a secret organization crashing the shindig to steal the crown jewels that were being displayed for all, or even kidnapping an ambassador or something like that. "Yup, seems like it's going to be lots of fun to me!"

Being the ever so thoughtful person she was, Constance held the door open of the blind male and let him pass through to the great beyond and freedom that lay beyond the school walls. Once he was though, she followed, stepping just beyond the safety of any sort of roof-like structure just as the heavens opened up and began their onslaught of rain droplets. "Rain's so nice," the woman breathed as she stretched her arms out to her side giving the droplets more places on her body to land. "People always complain about how rain ruins a nice day, but isn't it just really getting ready to make an even better one down the road?" The red head wasn't really paying attention to anything other than following the male and just talking. He never really got along with anyone at school so she was determined to get him to open up.

"It dulls the senses" Horatio replied irritably as the water made his red tipped dreadlocks droop into his face, "I cannot hear as well through the noise, the cold stuffs one's nose making it difficult to smell and everything is slippery to the touch. So as a matter of fact, rain does ruin the day." he stopped at the crosswalk to hit the button but nothing came of it, no tweets or beeps to say stop or go. He tried it again but nothing came of the stupid button. The blasted thing was broken which meant one horrible, terrifying thing.

"Constance..." Horatio spoke through cold, clenched teeth, "... would you be so kind as to aid me in crossing the street?" Although he could usually tell which way the traffic was flowing, this street in particular was a busy one and more than once people had nearly been run over by cars trying to turn. People including himself.

Horatio was well aware of the differences and difficulties his blindness meant in regard to other people but when it came to his own needs he was stubbornly self reliant, to a fault. So much so that there was more than one occasion in which he ventured out on his own and in one case, actually did get hit by a car. It hadn't been very bad at all, more of a powerful nudge if anything but it had done enough to stir the fear in his chest about it-not to mention sending his parents into fits of terror. He had to swear to them countless times that he would never do something so reckless again and even so it was nearly a year before they let him go anywhere by himself again.

So when it came to moments like this it took a lot of effort to swallow his pride and ask for help and the only reason he was even able to do so was because the only other option meant a dance with death.

It just didn't make sense to Constance, at least not from how she saw the world. "Perhaps you just aren't looking at the right things," she said, a total disregard to the words she was saying. "Just because it puts a hamper on one thing, it brings out the good in others. It won't be too hot when it rains and there's a coolness and smell that only comes with such wonderful weather." She smirked at her own reply and nodded as she paused beside the male at the crosswalk, her eyes watching the busy cars go back and forth through the green light.

Even though her mind was wandering, she was quickly brought back to reality by a simple question coming from the normally silent male. constance's face contorted into a look of absolute shock, her red eyes locked on the male as she sat there silent for several seconds. "Say that again?" She asked, her normally loud voice silent and meek. A man was passing by, his goal not being crossing the road like the two that were standing there, but that didn't stop the red head from grabbing the front of the male's jacket and proudly, and loudly, announcing, "Horatio asked me for help! Did you hear? He asked me to help him cross the road!" Her forehead came into contact with the confused and slightly scared male's shoulder as he just stood there frozen as the woman clung to him for a few more moments.

Finally releasing the man back to the wilds of the city, Constance quickly wrapped her arm around Horatio's and said, "Sir, I would love to help you cross the street!" When finally the light turned in their favor, the tall woman practically dragged the boy across the street as she was far too happy about him asking to really pay attention the the amount of force she was using.

Horatio was not about to repeat himself so he merely sent an irritated look in Constance's general direction. The boy just face palmed when he heard her pronounce to the world that he needed help-as though it wasn't enough of an embarrassment! "Hush!" he demanded, "If you are going to make a scene then I would rather do it myself!" and risk the oncoming traffic.

But of course, before he could object further she had a hold of him and he was left stumbling after her, trying to keep up without dropping his walking stick. "I-gah-slow down!" the boy exclaimed but of course by then they had successfully crossed the street-though not without Horatio tripping over the curb. As he fell he reached out, grabbing hold of the only thing nearby which of course, was Constance. All he managed to do however was to take her tumbling to the wet sidewalk with himself.

The woman was throwing a fit of giggles as she rolled onto her back on the wet pavement as she simply allowed the rain to splater on her face. "You take life way too seriously Mr. Grumpy pants," she chuckled before sitting up. Once she was on her feet, Constance reached a hand down to pull the suffering male up to his own. Once he was up and steadied, the woman dusted the small bits of gravel from her backside before moving on to Horatio's back.

"There now, that wasn't so bad, was it?" She asked, sticking her tongue out teasingly for a moment. Looking back at the male, who was clearly looking less than thrilled about everything she asked, "So what goes on at these big parties your family throws?"

Breathe Horatio told himself as he tried to remain calm, just breathe, but it wasn't doing him much good. His hands were trembling, partly from the cold but also from fear. There was another very good reason why he didn't ask for the help of strangers, they simply did not know blind etiquette. They did not know the fear of loosing control, of never knowing if the next step would be even ground, a pot hole or the edge of a cliff.

With all of the self control he could muster, Horatio turned away from Constance, gathered his bearings and started marching down the street without another word to her. His heart was racing and her couldn't calm it down which meant one thing. The silvery blue colour in his eyes was becoming cracked with gold as that strange ability began to kick in all on it's own. The world was starting to freeze up around him and that would mean a lot of explaining to do if Constance saw him miraculously disappear.

Mind you, if she happened to be touching him at the time, she would only join in on the ride.

Silence was what the woman was greeted with. Even though she was used to being ignored by Horatio, Constance wasn't expecting her question to fall upon deaf ears. Turning around she was then greeted by empty space as the male was no longer by her side. Brow furrowing, she looked down the street to see the male putting distance between the two of them. "Hey, Horatio, wait up," she called to him as she jogged to close that distance. When he didn't seem to slow down or even acknowledge her call she called to him once again.

"What's the matter Horatio?" And again he didn't respond. Brow furrowing as she finally caught up to the male, she reached out and grabbed his shoulder, "Hey, what's up?"

Just keep walking Horatio told himself, Breathe, walk, keep moving. Everything's fine. and it was working, right up until she grabbed his shoulder, "STOP!" he snapped, turning on her as everything around them froze in place-even the rain. The entire world around them changed, falling to shades of grey as all the colour drained from the world-all except Constance and Horatio themselves. And to add to the complete bizzareness of the situation Horatio's eyes were bright gold and staring right at her. Not in her direction, not pretty close to the mark but directly into her own eyes.

"You can't even tell can you? Are you blind? Oh wait, no, you aren't and I think that's the problem. How about you run back to that cross walk, close your eyes and go running into traffic, then come back to me with your chipper little voice and tell me how much FUN it is." he yelled at her, his voice echoing in the complete silence around them.

And in that silence he paused because it was just then that he realized what he had done. Not only had this weird time stop thing happened again but this time he wasn't alone in it. Constance was still able to move, "... oh sh**" cursed the boy as he took a step back, "you... you aren't frozen, are you?"

Constance would be what some people call 'dense'. Her actions, though she meant no harm by them, were more times than not harmful to people in some way, shape, or form. She just never thought her actions through, so when Horatio started freaking out at the woman about not understanding what it was like to be blind, the woman was frozen in awe. Then again, she wasn't exactly listening to the male at that point either.

The world around them fell silent, not only in the literal manner, but in the visual as well; everything was becoming black and white, a duo tone of mute color. Mouth agape, Constance looked at the bleak and frozen world around her in awe. The woman turned slightly, though her grip numbly remained on Horatio's shoulder as she looked around. "Whoa," she breathed out, though she wasn't aware that she had said anything at all.

After a few moments, the gears in the woman's brain finally started turning as she realized that the male with her had spoken to her many minutes ago and she had yet to reply. With his question finally registering in her mind, the red haired woman slowly turned her head to look at him, the male receiving only a blank stare as the words really processed in her mind. "Frozen?" She repeated dumbly, her brain still working through the mess of what was going on. "Why would I-?" The woman then cut herself off as her brain began to wander.

"Did you?" She then cut herself off once again, this time a sly smile formed on her lips as her crimson orbs narrowed accusingly at the male. "You did this, didn't you?" She asked the male pointedly, she smile turning into a smirk as she confidently said, "I knew you would show your true colors if I stuck around long enough."

Horatio swallowed nervously, taking in a deep breath and letting it out slowly he calmed himself somewhat. He had to calm himself, that was the only option, the only way to make things go back to normal and-were her eyes red? That didn't seem right. Mind you, perhaps he was wrong because it had taken him quite some time to figure out just what 'red' was. Perhaps he just had it mixed up again.

"You need to go" he shrugged her hand off his shoulder, hoping that would break the connection but it did not. Apparently anyone he brought into this world was there until he brought them out of it. He turned away, at least he could make it home by himself now. "Okay, look. I don't know how long this is going to last but I suppose you will have to stick with me until it does." he swatted the still rain out of his way as he began walking the rest of the way home.

His home was a large estate, there was a gate entrance but it was often left open. It wasn't just because his parents were so trusting but more so it was easier for him. It came in handy more so when things like this happened because as it so happened, the gate was on a motorized system that wouldn't work without the passage of time. Things like normal doors however were easier to manipulate so after walking up the long driveway, by-passing the elegant lawn that was decorated with exotic flowers and extravagant floral displays.

The house itself held a Baroque feel on the outside, the old stone had been brought in from several other areas to create an older look on the outside, meanwhile the inside was slightly more contemporary-particularly in the layout of it. Plenty of large open spaces that let one room flow into another seamlessly.

Horatio walked passed several people who were frozen in place, setting up for tonight. One girl looked like she was falling over and would accidentally break a glass vase so Horatio moved it gently out of the way before heading up the grand staircase to his room.

His room was surprisingly plain without very much on the walls though that kind of made sense. There was one poster that looked like a massive work of braille but that was about it. Instead the walls mostly held bookshelves, tons of them, each reaching from ceiling to floor and packed to perfection with books. You probably couldn't fit an extra single page in any of them. Aside from that there was a large desk with a comfortable chair and a grand looking four post bed with intricately carved head and base boards along with the posts of course. All in all, even in black and white, it was a nice damn place.

Constance of course was lost within her own world in the frozen wonderland around her. She looked around, amazed by the stillness that was the natural world around them; people frozen midstep, water that was being sprayed out by the now halted cars were still, with no place to go. Horatio was talking to her, she could hear it but she wasn't completely paying attenion, the wide smile on her face evidence of her amazment.

The thing that the woman did catch was the male's reluctant invitation to keeping him company. Happily sticking close to the odd-eyed male, Constance watched as he carelessly swatted rain drops out of the way. This of course, only brought a new form of entertainment to the woman as she proceeded to poke at random droplets as they continued on their way. "This is so cool!" She chidded happily, her body no longer paying attention to her soaked clothing. "I wish I could do stuff like this! I would be doing it all the time!"

As usual, the dark haired male seemed uninterested in everything the woman had said, her talking nonstop even as they entered the large estate. "How on earth does your family afford all this?!" The woman then proclaimed, her mind jumping from his abilities to the riches around her. Eyes the size of small dinner plates (which would probably be considered tea saucers to this boy), the woman stared at the scenery around her in awe.

As they made their way about the mansion, as Constance had dubbed it, the woman continued talking the whole way, asking questions like what his parents did for a living, how long they had been there, things of that nature that would eventually lead to other questions to pry into his personal life. As usual, the boy was good at ignoring her, even as he moved a vase out of the way of a falling person; an action that caused the red head to dub the male as nice, even if he tried to act like he wasn't.

Once they entered the room, Constance fell silent for a few moments as she took in the scene before her. The room was far fancier than any of the rooms in her own home, though at this point that really should not have as a surprise. "You have a lot of books," was the only thing the woman said as she just stood only a few feet within the room.

"I like to read" Horatio replied bluntly but at least he had finally said something to her. Speaking of the books, he went to the shelf, feeling along the spines of the novels until he came to the seventh one from the right on the second row from the bottom. It wasn't too often he could actually see what he was doing, so even with eyes that worked he had to find a lot of his things by touch.

Reaching behind that seventh book he pulled out a small journal looking thing and brought it over to the table. He actually seemed a little rushed at this point as he flipped through the pages. Unlike the other books in the room, it had writing instead of braille within which would have been very odd if Constance was not now privy to his little secret. The trouble was that the writing was not English, but all the same Horatio grabbed Constance and brought her over to it, "Since you're here, you may as well be useful. What does this say?" he demanded.

Clearly, he had no idea that the written words were unreadable. Obviously he couldn't read anything that wasn't braille, so all the letters looked the same to his inexperienced eyes. Eyes that now looked at Constance with hope, despite his attempts to hide it.

Constance merely tipped her head from side to side at the male's notion to enjoying reading. "I'm not too partial to it," the red head said as she made her way over and sat on the male's bed. "I'd rather play video games, ya know?" She shrugged, her eyes moving about the room slowly. "You still get the story, you just get to act through it which is really cool."

Quieting herself for a few moments, Constance stretched her arms out before her before pulling her arms up to arch her lower back. Shortly after, her palms found the mattress surface once again and the woman's body weight was placed on top of them as she watched the male mill about, going through one particular book.

Horatio eventually pulled the woman from her seat to share what he had been looking at with her. Bright red orbs scanned over the odd 'language', if one could call it that. While one could say that the scribbles resembled some sort of symbol, or symbols as it were, to the woman, they could have been made up by an eight year old child. "This isn't English," she said dulling to the male, her eyes never meeting his and missing his expectant gaze. "I don't think it's even any sort of language to be honest with you." Even with it not being something she could read, the woman was still interested in the odd designs and continued looking at them.

"It... it isn't... oh..." Horatio looked down at the pages, feeling rather deflated all of a sudden and just as suddenly the world flared back to life. Voices could be heard from downstairs as the girl they had walked by now fell. There was the sounds of music playing, birds flying by the window and now Horatio's room was bathed in colour. Even the light scent of lavender now filled the air where before it had smelled of nothing.

As the golden colour faded from his eyes, Horatio closed the book once more and brought it back to the book shelf. How could he hope to learn the secrets of these pages when it wasn't even a commonly known language? To be quite honest, the youth was looking rather defeated, "this book is the only clue I have as to why I can do these things" he admitted, his hands running over the smooth cover, "I found it the first time that happened to me. Sitting in the middle of the floor as though it had always been there but... no one leaves anything out for me to trip on. Not ever. It came out of nowhere and I can't figure out why..."

Why, in fact, was he even disclosing this to her? Perhaps because he had never been able to talk with anyone about it before. It wasn't as though he could control the ability so the once or twice he had attempted to disclose the information to someone, they thought him a silly child or just crying out for attention. He couldn't prove that he had spent hours, even days trapped in a single moment of time. How could he convince anyone that was real?

But now she knew, the most unlikely and probably the most unwanted person he would have liked to know, now stood in his room fully aware of his little secret. He turned his body towards he had last heard her voice, "You are taking all of this rather calmly Constance... aren't you afraid?"

Serk grabbed his coat, which caused Calister to look up at in with a sense of confusion on his face. "Sir?" he inquired, but knew all too well that he wouldn't warrant a response. He was the butler, after all. Why should he deserve an answer?

"I'm going out. I need to run some personal errands. You stay here. Come grab me from the market when the party starts."

"As you wish," the green haired fellow nodded in agreement too. He was left alone to tend to the house and its tidings. He had a lot of work ahead of him and little did he know he would have to entertain some unusual guests.

While Calister was at home, Serk walked his way out of his fancy community for the rich and famous. A few other wealthy snobs waved to him and he returned the genuine gesture. There was no point in making enemies, especially since so many of these people kept his secret. They all had secrets and they all stood up for one another, should it be needed. Simply ignoring them was not an option. To be an outcast in this community was to suffer and to fail. Failure was not an option so Serk conformed to their standards.

As he moved down the road, a comrade of his offered a ride. He and his wife were driving to downtown and asked him to accompany them. Would he refute? No. It was much easier to ride than walk. Boarding the limo, the trio road in style toward the town. Drinks were prepared for each and all of them enjoyed a good laugh over the day's paper. It was a thing among the rich to mock the poor and helpless. It was terrible and rude, but it was how this particular sect of rich folk lived.

Once at the distention, the trio split and went their separate ways. Lady Lawrence went to the jewelers. Mr. Lawrence went to the casino. Serk wandered down a back alley to make some shady deals. He was after a pint of blood to quench his thirst. He would order another and reward Calister with it later that evening. But first, he needed to locate his supplier, a man even more crooked than a kinky slinky.

"Can I offer you some-"

Serk's hand raised to cut the drug dealer off. "I'm not interested in your poison. I prefer something a little more," a glint of darkness swelled in his crimson orbs, "… bloody." And just like that, the city was down one bad man. It wasn't what Serk intended, but the side treat was perfect. He didn't have to wait long before his partner arrived, the Doctor.

"One should do," Serk muttered to the male across from him. "Make it the usual. You can keep the remains for yourself. I know a family of four can be hard to feed, especially if they are beasts like us."

A bout of laughter was exchanged between the two before Serk went about his merry way. The Doctor would deliver his order that evening so Serk saw no point in sticking around to watch how it was done. It wasn't really his forte. He could drink the blood, but he was never fond of anything else. Even then, he wasn't a huge fan of blood. It was merely used to survive these days.

Slipping back onto the main streets, Serk wandered down to a cafe where he would sip on some tea while eating a hot sandwich. Of course, that wasn't all he did. No, he would listen to the streets and pin-point his next victim. Serk never killed anyone who didn't deserve to die. It was just who he was. Why hunt the innocent where there were thieves to steal from?

Constance eventually looked up at the male, mostly it was the fact that he sounded so up set with her response on the notebook. The look on the male's face and the bleeding color that was returning to the world made the woman regret having just answered him so bluntly. She wasn't about to lie to him; she couldn't read the notebook and that was all there was to it and in her mind, it really did look like something someone's younger kid brother would come up with in an attempt to upset his siblings with a 'secret language' where they could write about anyone to their heart's content. The red head had been like that as a child; she loved to come up with her own secret languages to make people wonder what she was writing on top of some other things.

The woman actually had to blink a few times, seemingly in shock as life flooded back to the world around them. She hadn't been anticipating return to what was 'normal' so quickly and the flood to the scenes was slightly nausiating. Sounds and smells that were normally pleasant were unexpected and the red head found the warmth draining from her body, especially her ears. She felt dizzy and sat down on the male's bed once again as she willed herself to not be sick and to bring the color back to her face as she knew how pale she probably looked as well as the fact her lips probably looked chapped at that point.

There was a high pitch ringing in her ears as Horatio spoke to her or the woman probably would have reacted much more elatedly to the fact he was actually talking about himself. She had only caught bits and pieces of what the male was telling her as feeling slowly returned to her body once again. "Someone could have been clumsy," Constance said slowly as she lifted her head to return to the posture that she once had before being returned to the time of the real world.

When the male directed his once again dead gaze in her direction, Constance simply shrugged. "What's there to be scared about? It's not like you hurt anyone. Besides you had always been too secretive so there had to be something amazingly interesting about you other than the fact that you Mr. Antisocial." The woman was teasing him slightly as she stuck her tongue out at him. "Call it a hunch, but I had a feeling that there was more to you than met the eye."

"No one is that clumsy around here" Horatio replied, "not in this house and especially not in my room. Besides, I had already walked across the floor several times and I was alone when it had happened." the appearance of the notebook was a certain mystery, as though somehow it had been trapped in the black and white world as apposed to the colour-filled one.

Perhaps there were others would could wander that world? But what would they have been doing in his room? If they were aware of him then why never reveal themselves? The questions he had for them were numerous and outstanding and it was infuriating to think that someone could be watching afar and letting him figure it out by himself. He couldn't think of another thing he could do to work out this problem!

"You have impeccable intuition in that case" he sighed, trying to not be angered by his own thoughts, "albeit a misguided sense of curiosity. I'm more dangerous than you might think" he strayed to a clock that rested on the night table, next to the bed and ran his fingers along the specialized time piece, "there was one other whom I accidentally brought into that world with me. Some time ago, before even the notebook became present. They were... left behind." he swallowed as a pit in his stomach churned, "I've looked for them since but I think that they are long gone now. Every frozen moment is different from the next, and I can't go back to the moment where they were left behind." he paused, "I suppose they would be dead by now."

he turned away, his fingers slipping off the clock, "The party has begun. I should have been downstairs ten minutes ago. Evidently we skipped a little forward when we came back this time. There is an empty room down the hall if you need to get changed" he strode over his closet whilst loosened the collar of his shirt.

Constance couldn't exactly argue with the male on the matter of the book, well she could but Horatio continued speaking on other matters before she had the chance. She just watched the male, his actions alone tended to be facsinating enough. It probably wouldn't have been too hard to just accidentally drop something as small as a book, especially around someone who was normally blind and probably wouldn't have noticed if it had happened. The red head nodded slowly as she thought about this, eyebrows raised, lips to the side as though she were deep in thought.

When he switched gears to talk about how she was misguided and wrong about he lack of fear and thinking the male was harmless. This drew her attention as her gaze shifted to a single raised eyebrow as she looked at the male as he spoke. Constance stretched her hands out to the side before folding the behind her head and falling back on the male's bed once again. "Well maybe they were the ones that left that notebook for you if you don't think someone here may have accidentally done so," she said as her eyes rolled downward to keep an eye on him.

As he mentioned the party, that brought the woman back up to her feet as she shoved her hands into her slightly damp pockets. "And what would I change into? It's not like I carry changes of clothes with me," she inquired as she stuck her tongue out at the male, not really paying any attention to the fact that he was probably trying to get ready for the party that they were late for.

Horatio paused, "... You aren't seriously going to wear that, are you? Your attire is one of the few, tragically unfortunate things I have ever seen. I'm sure there's something in the guest room down the hall that would fit you, why don't you go take a look?" The spare room of course carried a variety of extra clothing, most of it simply no longer in use by the family members, although some was in fact bought specifically in case of unexpected guests sleeping over. Horatio's parents threw a lot of parties and they didn't mind at all if a few friends got too drunk and decided to stay the night. Thus there was a large variety of casual to elegant attire available there.

The blind boy went over to the closet and opened the door to the large, walk-in wardrobe. It only took a moment to pick out the outfit he was looking for, a rather stylish, dark suit. "At any rate, I need to change myself and considering the fact that you are not the blind one here, it would be common courtesy to provide me with a little privacy."
