Maria watched a strange man approach her home from the second floor window. This was very strange, it had been years since she had seen another person. She couldnt help but wonder what he was doing here, but her main focus was that she hoped hed stay! She wanted a friend more then anything and she hoped hed be hers. Maybe hed come play with her?

She raced down to the first level and waited for him to come in, hiding behind the door frame to the dinning room.

It had been a long day of travel and Koda was glad it was nearly over. He just needed to grab a few pictures and he could work his way back home. Why his boss had sent him all the way out here he would probably never know. When he pulled up to the house he was in a bit of shock. 'This thing will never sell! Unless the Adams Family were in the market for a new house.' Stretching a bit as he exited his car and slipping a hand inside his pocket to wrap his fingers around the old skeleton key he was given. His boss had said it would open the front and back door, including any other door he might find inside the old spooky looking abode. Although he was also warned not to poke around too much, to only take what pictures that would be needed and be on his way. Making his way up the steps he knew he wouldn't be spending anymore time in there than necessary, as it was beginning to get dark and a strange unsettling feeling was washing over him. Blinking a few times and running his fingers nervously back through his sooty black hair before matching the old rusting skeleton key up with its slot at the lock on the front door. He takes a deep breath and turns it, hearing the tumblers roll away as the lock clicks open and the door eerily creeks opens inwards. 'Well, this is it, let's get this over with.' He steps inside, letting his eyes grow accustomed to the dim light, nostrils filling with a dusty old smell like one would find in an old un-aired attic.

Maria peeked around the corner watching him curiously. She ran over to shut the door for him although she didnt realize he couldnt currently see her. She wasnt used to being around anyone especially anyone living. Once the door was shut she ran back to her hiding place with a nervous giggle, her footsteps echoing through the otherwise silent house

Koda would turn on his heel abruptly as the door shut seemingly by itself behind him, "What the?" Maybe it was just the wind he told himself, Had to be the wind. The sound of a child's pattering footsteps running across the dark hardwood floors though were not the wind. Nor was the girlish giggle that came to his ears. Immediately his pale skin breaks out in goosebumps, "H-hello?" He calls out, voice wavering throughout the lower floor of the huge house. The sense of not being alone here was quite unnerving as he contemplated making a run for it. But to leave without the photos he was sent for meant he would not get paid and this entire trip would have been for naught. He takes a deep breath, stepping a slow foot forward towards where it seems the footsteps had stopped. His eyes search the murky darkness for signs of life but could not find any. Repeating himself with a little more confidence, "Hello? Who's there?" Maybe it was a neighborhood kid playing a dirty prank on him, yeah, of course that's what it had to be...

She gasped a little when he asked whos there. He heard her! Oops! "Im over here!" To her ears she said it in a normal tone of voice but to the human hear only the end of the setance could be heard in a very soft voice. She watched him enter the room she was in from her corner curiously. It was strange to see a person after having been alone for so long. "Will you play with me?" She asked this time the whole sentance could be heard although she still couldnt be seen

Koda jumps nearly out of his skin at the sound of the voice that answered. The eerily whimsical child-voice sent chills down his spine. He liked to think of himself as a pretty brave individual, but was quickly finding out he might not be as courageous as he once thought. Inhaling sharply as his eyes search for the one who was speaking to him but to no avail. His mouth was terribly dry as he speaks, "I-I c-cant see you, where are you? Are you hiding from me?" Play what did she mean by that? Of course he wasn't going to play with the little girl. He would find her and take her to her parents, that was the plan. He just had to find her first. He crouched down to look underneath things, eventually lowering himself to crawl upon his knees, "Come out, come out, wherever you are..." He tried to make his words seem playful in hopes she would be unafraid of him and give up this game she was playing and come out into the open.

((My god im so bad about this lately its just been hectic, im sorry))

She watched from the corner as he started crawling around and giggled "Your silly!" She watched him still look and was confused why he couldnt find her. She was right over here?! "Im right here!" She sounded confused. Why couldnt he see her? It had been so ling since she had seen a living human, did she really forget how to make herself seen? Would he never be able to find her?

Koda wiped the back of his hand across his brow at the nervous sweat that had broken out there. Sitting back on his heels and sighing, "Right where?" He looked around still confused as the where the wispy voice of the child was coming from, it seemed to resonate eerily throughout the room. Crossing his arms over his chest and huffing as he began to feel quite frustrated with the situation, "You're going to have to come out now or I'm going to leave you in this spooky old place by yourself. I'm sure your family won't be happy you missed supper either." He was sure the empty threats would get through to the child, although of course he would never leave a kid here by herself. He stood up and made it look like he was walking out and sauntered over towards the front door. As his hand clasped around the handle he noticed it was icy to the touch, which was strange as it was the middle of August and it was so hot outside you could fry an egg on the sidewalk, even at this hour. He tries not to think too much of it and turns the knob but it won't budge. "Dang thing must be stuck..." He murmurs to himself as he begins to panic and jiggle the doorknob frantically.

Her eyes widdened "No! You cant go! You just got here!" She kept the door from opening "my parents are dead. This is my home". She said "please dont go! I want a friend. Ive come out! Im right here! Dont go!" She was desprate

Was he hearing her correctly? He turns around away from the door to find a small wisp of a light come through one entrances to a side room and stop a few feet away from him. Slowly the wisp takes on a different shape, the shape of a little girl. He could see right through her. "W-what's going on?" He begins to feel lightheaded and leans back against the door-frame before slowly sliding down it until he was seated on the hardwood floor. This couldn't possibly be happening to him, he was in no way the suspicious kind of guy, but this was too much. Was he talking to a ghost?

Maria looked worried and went closer to him "Are you okay mister?!"
