I think it's great.
Watercolours are hard to work with and I think you've really done a good job.

I also think it looks very nice, you used the colours really good.
I tried it a couple of times, but somehow watercolours aren't really my thing, the paper always gets way to wet ^^"

Water colors are really fussy, good for you!!! You've managed to take a medium that is delicate and use it for a solid crips line portrait. I am impressed! *applause*

I stink at watercolor. Definitely envy you! That is very nice. Even if you're not completely satisfied with it, I think you did a grand job. I really love the structure of the face, and the attention to some little details in the clothing ^^

It's incredibly good, the shading is spectacular.
I just feel something's strange with the lips, maybe it's just an impression...

This is watercolor? O__O Wow~ I didn't know it could look so crisp~

Try adding more dark in shadows and smoothing out the mid-shadow.

edit* I'm sorry I didn't see the link too well yet o3o! That's amazing~ on how your realism lineart looks so neat and simple yet incredible!

You are not satisfied?

I swear, i suck at art.. I need to learn. Youtube has no good help.

and i cant take a class. Im screwed.

But you are not. you have a whole life of great things ahead of you if you pursue that talent.

I like it a lot, it has really good style and coloring. The shading is terrific. You should be proud to give it to him. :) And trust me, a good boyfriend (or friend for that matter) will love whatever you give him, especially if you put your heart and hard work into it. :)

That reminds me, I should make something for my boyfriend. I drew him once right when we first started dating, but that was three years ago! Haha.

It's very nice. The one suggestion I have is that I think you should have left out the outlining. With watercolor the color defines the picture, outlining just makes it look clunky or overrendered.

I think you'll be much happier with your next work if you approach it in that manner.

There seems to be a strange lack of criticism.
I dunno about you, but hearing a bunch of "that looks awesome!" Is rather frustrating to me, as it doesn't help me improve anything.

I could tell your art style was anime influenced without looking at any of your other art, but I had to check just in case to make sure I was right.
Such influences can be seen most strikingly in the eye(s), as the tear ducts are not so properly shaped on the right side of his left eye.
Additionally, in the eyes as well as throughout the face, you use alot of angles, particularly around the nose etc, that are a bit harsher than in real life. This is fine, of course, if you are deliberately stylizing it. On the subject of eyes, his right eye is a bit too low. The last criticism I have is the size and placement of the ear; it's a bit on the small side, as well as the angle or something I cannot quite place.. it looks too far away.

As a closing statement, I would like to say you've done a fantastic job on this, and you controlled the medium very well. Your shading and colour theory is fantastic, and his clothing looks very natural, which is something I have a hard time with myself.

Good job/keep it up/keep improving c:

That's really good. I particularly like the nose, it's very individual. Do you ink, or do you find that it messes up the softness of your image (as well as offering up opportunities for f-up)?

It's not exactly realism, more like realistic stylisation. Your forms are accurate and not exaggerated, but just more angular than real life. I like it, its clean and attractive.

Oh, how I miss using watercolor and oils! There is just no room over on this end to even walk let alone take out my easel. Your painting looks wonderful and you sure do have much artistic talent.
