Right now I'm taking a Latin class in which we are translating the "Aeneid". It's a very small class (four people, including me) with a very intimidating professor. I have several hours of homework a day. While I enjoy the class and the translating, it's one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. However, I feel I'm getting a lot out of it because the more Latin I learn, the better my English becomes. I'm also becoming a better elitist. :-p
So, I'm curious...what's the hardest class YOU'VE ever taken? Did you enjoy it even though it was hard? Did it completely suck? What did you get out of it?

That sound rather hard but somthing really injoyable to learn as for me I want to learn Jappanesse. I don't really have any hard classes, actually I take all the easy classes since I convenst my counsler that I'm "Special" XD though I still consider PE my hardest class since I'm way out of shape DX
PS: I like your avi, it reminds me of samomo from chobits

I'm learning Russian from my grandpa, and that is a hard as sin language. He wants me to practice translating the old USSR national anthem. Commie. ="P He is a pretty intimidating guy, but if you make a sarcastic joke about Germans or the French, he lightens up.

The hardest class I've ever taken was physics. Which was absolutely ridiculous because in theory physics should have been relatively easy to learn. I mean, I understood everything presented in the text book and knew how to use all of the formulas but my teacher never explained any of the material. He gave us take home tests all the time which -sounded- easy, but it was all on obscure information that was nowhere to be found in the text and he refused to teach us.
It was a bit ironic too, because I'd taken AP Chemistry the year before and wanted to dumb down to an honors course again. -_- Bad idea.

well I haven't had too many really hard classes, but I have had an English class that all you had to do was mention the professor's name and everyone would gag. the amount of analyzing and writing was moreso than math, but now I look at essays as being pretty easy so I guess it was all for the better. I did learn a lot, but the road to the end of the class was hard, no matter what grade you were in.

Oh man! That sounds difficult. Good luck to you! And congrats on becoming a better elitist. I should take that class! :0 It'd help me become a better one as well. ;3
Hmm.. Hardest class... I've never found my classes too challenging. Even the "Honors" or "Spectrum" classes.. :/
I guess.. hm... Math has been a difficult subject for me, since I'm more "language-wired", but once I am clearly explained the formula, it's simple..
I don't think I've ever had a class that's more difficult than is normal, or than it "should be".
I mean... Anatomy/Physiology was hard for most, but it was pretty easy for me since I'm wanting to be a nurse. So it was really interesting, to the point of it being fun to study. I'd read up on the part we were learning in my free time.
I guess enjoying it makes it a whole bunch easier to memorize the bones and muscles. XD
Huh. When I get a super-hard class, I'll tell you!

Hardest class for myself was AP Government handsdown. I've never been a big fan or an expert in social studies, history, etc. That class felt even more difficult just knowing that all that was in one system instead of all over the world. Was hella confusing to me and there were only a few things that I actually carried out of that class. I feel like I've epically failed that class, but then again something makes me feel like I barely passed. Hopefully it's the latter, but he "Shit Happens" right?

I hated Maths. I had undiagnosed dyscalculia for ages so they were there, the teachers, getting all exasperated and stuff because i couldn't understand normal to understand theories and mathmatical calculations until i was in my final year and my maths teacher said i had Dyscalculia.
But i got pretty nasty tellings off from my tutors.

Math has always been my most difficult subject, and since I needed a lot of it for the sciences I had to take, I was in summer school a lot because of it.
It's not that I can't do the math, it just doesn't stick. I can do it fine up until the teacher stops teaching it and makes us do it a week later. By that time I've completely forgotten about it!
On the other hand, marketing, Language Art classes, and Histories [Especially the US Civil War] were always the easiest for me.

@RainbowSuicide - Thanks! I'm also reminded of Sumomo when I look at my avi. :-p
@Sugar Floss Decay - Wow, I want to learn Russian. But that situation sounds hilarious! I have two very "patriotic" American grandfathers, a communist would be a fun change.
It seems everyone has trouble with math! I do too, and even my boyfriend who's attaining a degree in math has trouble sometimes.

I haven't actually had a hard class.
I mean, my math and gym grades were my only two grades that weren't like 99's or 100's, and that's because I make careless mistakes in math and I argue with my gym teacher because he's a dick. And I still got A's.
I'm taking Latin next year, but there's only one teacher and everyone says he gives easy work and a ton of extra credit, soo...
Science and Social Studies have always been my easiest classes. That random crap stays in my head very well.

Hardest class ever?
Wallpaper Patterns.
Alright, so it was actually called "Mathematical Patterns and Transformations," but everyone just called it Wallpaper Patterns.
It was an experimental honors math class that I took last year. The school wasn't sure if they wanted to adopt it, so the professor got permission to hold a class of about 15 students and use us as guinea pigs. He wrote the textbook himself and controlled all the material, so it was insane.
The entire class dealt with the identification of patterns and how to create their individual parts - Rotations, transformations, repetitions, etc. We'd get a piece of paper with a certain pattern on it, like a row of L's across a horizontal line, and a row of upside-down L's underneath it, repeated over and over again down the page. We'd have to identify what kind of pattern it was (there were at least 60 different types we had to memorize), explain why this was so, then make adjustments to turn it into a different kind of pattern. We would also be given an incomplete pattern and be told to fill in the remaining elements that would make it a certain type.
It was insane.
And the most frustrating thing is that the school decided they wouldn't fund the class, so it hasn't been offered since then. (If you have to suffer, it's at least comforting to know that other people are suffering too!)

My hardest course was Advance Database Organization. The whole purpose (aside from passing the exams) was to program a database management system from scratch. That program gave me nightmares and so many other problems. I learned a lot from it and I admit, I'm very proud of the finished project but if I went back now knowing what I do about that class, I would've chosen a different programming course for my requirements. I found out it's the hardest programming course in my university's computer science department ><

All those sound really interesting! Believe it or not, the hardest class I ever took was speech. I just can't seem to be comfortable talking in front of people. Not only that, but I end up repeating myself because I forget what I am saying and I have a hard time coming up with things to talk about because my brain is so nervous it shuts off. Funny how I have no problem talking in a forum though. Probably because you're all not staring at me.

Sadly....Art.
Yup... My senior year in high school I took AP Art, and failed. I won't get into details cuz I will go into a very long rant about the class. BUT. It was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken.

I don't think I've ever taken a hard class before. If I get a bad grade in something, it is most likely my own fault because I was goofing off during class.
If it makes you feel any better, I've taken Algebra I twice. I was in an advance placement in 8th grade, but when I got into high school they didn't place me in Geometry. So I took regular Algebra I and learned about one new thing that entire year. The teacher thought he was a really great teacher (He wasn't) and I didn't have the heart to break it to him that I had taken the course before.
I am a bit worried about Spanish III this year. I can do the grammar, but not the vocabulary.

Physics. The teacher was scary, the class was disruptive, and the lesson plan was erratic. I couldn't find the subject applicable to life, or any career that I'm planning to choose.
