Y HELO THAR~ 8D

o1. The bulleted list below consists only of my own plot ideas, and existing series that I want to roleplay. Just leave a message if you fancy something different, because I tend to be pretty flexible when it comes to genres.

o2. I want this to be in a private thread, just because they seem more fun than messages and I only use MSN and the like to talk with real life friends.

o3. Literacy would be nice, but remember that quantity is not equal to quality. If you can fit everything you need to say in two sentences, then go right on ahead; same applies if you have a lot to say or feel like being pretty with your prose.

o4. Chatspeak or whatever you call it is fine and dandy when you and I are just talking casually (in clearly defined OOC to prevent my tiny little mind from getting confused) but try to refrain from using it in character because it makes me want to punch babies.

o5. Be patient, because I have a life and sometimes go outside. Chances are that you probably do the same, but you should know well enough that you occasionally encounter frightening recluses who probably look like Gollum because they spend so much time avoiding social contact and getting bleached by their computer screens. Please don’t be that person.

o6. Just so you know, I am seventeen years old and like roleplaying with people around about my own age. So if you are staggering into your thirties, maybe go and find someone else to keep you occupied… or just tell me a big fat lie about your age, but that rarely ends well.

o7. It would be cool if your timezone was GMT or thereabouts, but I wouldn’t really call it a requirement. Just makes things a little more convenient is all. Not that it makes a great deal of difference any more, since my study leave starts at the end of this week.

o8. I feel like a bit of a hopeless romantic these days, so this little roleplay of ours is going to have romance in it. There will be cookies in it for you if it’s romance of the slash variety (male or female) just because I think it’s infinitely adorable… just like a trillion other girls my age.

  • Medieval Fantasy

    • When the ruler of the struggling nation of Shanklin dies, the eldest of his two sons must take over leadership and save the kingdom from ruin.

Jealous and heartless, the youngest prince bribes the court and accuses his brother of murdering their father to secure his place on the throne. Four days before his coronation, the crown prince is tried for treason and condemned to hang, but a loyal member of the court succeeds in reducing his sentence to permanent exile. Rather than fighting the verdict and risking death for a kingdom that turned its back on him, the exiled prince leaves and is forced to make his own way to the nearest city some sixty miles away in a neighbouring country.

He gets lost along the way, but is rescued as the night draws in by a ranger trying his hand at cartography and attempting to map the woods between kingdoms.

    • Relations between dragons and elves are strained at the best of times, but after a dragon inadvertantly crashed into an elven village and burnt it to the ground, the tension between the two races is on the verge of boiling over. Neither dragons nor elves can afford to go to war, but it looks like they might resort to it regardless of the consequences.

In an effort to calm the elves down long enough to assemble an army, the dragon king has sent one of his younger subjects out in humanoid form to extend an offer of peace. If the elves accept then the war can be averted, but should they refuse the dragon messenger is charged with killing the king and destroying as much of the elven forest as he can before inevitably being overwhelmed. Perhaps not the best of jobs to be landed with, but the dragons are fiercely loyal to their own and would willingly die for their cause.

  • Modern Fantasy

    • CRAVING A war between vampires and werewolves has raged for centuries, leaving mortals terrified of venturing out past sunset lest they get caught up in the crossfire. It started in the early years of the sixteenth century, when a vampire insulted an important werewolf and failed to apologize. It might seem like a petty thing to start a war over, but vampires enjoy being antagonistic and werewolves are a remarkably proud race; being insulted or ridiculed does not sit well with them.

After a particularly brutal week of slaughter, from which the vampires finally emerged almost unscathed, the vampire leader has left his native Manhattan and come to London with the intention of convincing the leader of the werewolves into admitting defeat. This is going to be quite a problem when all lycanthropes are so notoriously stubborn by nature, but the vampire can surely offer some sort of deal to his enemy in exchange…

    • A pandemic struck the world in the early years of the twenty first century, leaving in its wake only the barest handful of shellshocked survivors.

It started in the Guangdong province of China and rapidly spread across the globe in spite of brutal quarantines imposed on infected countries. Experts blamed the illegal trade of exotic animals in Hong Kong, where the first cases were reported, claiming that it allowed the development of a new strand of the Rhabdoviridae virus that is most known for causing rabies. They said that a process of genetic recombination had created a cocktail of existing strands to create something new and terrifying that revived its host from the dead. Nothing but the limbic system was left intact, in an agitated state that caused victims to become violent in the extreme; the virus spread by means of contact with infected bodily fluid, usually in the form of a bite; the media called the infected zombies.

Many of the zombies are dead now, thanks to the enhanced rate at which they decomposed after infection, but many thousands hold on still and society cannot begin again until all of them are gone. In the burnt out remains of central London, a group of survivors has banded together to form a group that travel from city to city, killing the zombies they encounter and beginning to research a vaccine for the future.

    • Ever since the end of the second world war, governments across the world have been working in secret to develop super soldiers. Their methods are varied and often cruel, usually resulting in the death of whatever street urchin they snatched off the street to experiment on.

America is the first country to develop genetically enhanced soldiers, with enviable mental powers such as telekinesis. They are stronger and faster than the vast majority of humans, so coupled with their extraordinary powers it was really only a matter of time before they escaped. Some media sources suggest that the escape was staged, planned by the government to frighten terrorists into coming out of hiding, but the reality is that it was completely unprecedented. The government are working day and night to round up the escapees and tranquillize them, bring them back to a secure location and work on making them entirely obedient.

There is one government agent now for every escaped soldier, and the number of escapees is declining each day… their only means of escape is leaving the country, getting away to somewhere safe, away from the government that wants only their obedience.

  • Pirates

    • They like to think of themselves as privateers, the crew of The Godtouched. Their piracy is endorsed by a dethroned king, and they have yet to return to their home port and be informed otherwise… even after four years. They say that what they do is perfectly legal if you ignore the fact that they shoot down any navy ships sent after them, and that nothing of what they loot finds its way into any treasury other than their own.

Across the world they are famous, and either respected or feared. For that very reason, a wealthy warlord has entrusted them with an invaluable shipment that needs to be carried through uncharted territory to an island that no one has made it to in the last three decades. An unknown something lurks in the water there, rumoured to be a monster but in reality a fleet of vicious pirates with no allegiance to anyone but themselves and one other. The warlord has informed the captain of The Godtouched that his wives and children live on the island, protected by the pirates who will let no one pass - not even the warlord himself.

Having grown weary of a life spent doing the same thing over and again, the captain accepted the mission, crew following almost blindly. Those who questioned were cast out, because no one on board doubts the captain. No one.

  • Ultraviolet

    • Nerva/Garth

So post here if any of this caught your interest, of if you want to do something else with me. Remember all the crap that I said earlier about being flexible and willing to give your plots or pairings a try if you ask nicely. I know that the list of series is not so much a list as a statement, but it was the only thing that really occurred to me. Anyway, something quick for you to bear in mind before I disappear and wait for people to post is that I like playing dominant characters—but this needn’t mean that you should feel obliged to play a submissive one. Quite the contrary, two characters vying for dominance makes for an interesting roleplay.
