So where I live is dominant with Italian people. It's like a "rich" area per say. Like, me and maybe only two other families on my street are oriental Asian and maybe a couple of Indian families also. Other than that, looking left and right, you get only Italians.
More than a month ago, I was leaving my driveway to go to the first day of summer school (which sucked like hell) and I saw this Asian guy. I was literally, fascinated. :insane: <-This was my face. There are Asian people in my school but to see one that is not a neighbour on my street? XDD It was a whole new revelation for me at that time. =w=;;

There was this guy at school people kept saying liked me. I went riding my bike one day and saw him raking leaves in a yard down the street. At the time I was all 'boys icky' so I turned my bike around and got out of there. But it surprised me.

I live in a black and hispanic dominated neighborhood, and we are one of maybe 2 or 3 white people that live on the entire block.
I'm... not really allowed to go outside, to be honest.... it's a not bad neighborhood, but it's not really a wander around kind of place. Especially at night.... I'm limited to my back yard.

I'm not used to living in a neighborhood with some who has fairly noticeable issues such a speech impairments. My mom and I moved into a new neighborhood when I was in jr high and the guy next door had some trouble speaking sometimes. You wouldn't know it from looking at him cause he's one of those tall guys that looks like he can beat someone up despite a few nerdy attributes. One time my friend and I were out walking. He and his brother walk up behind us and they were in conversation about something. I never expected this guy to start stuttering. I knew he was always quiet, but I never expected that.

well for some reason (okay, I know the reason, it's the awsome schooling system we got here), this street seems to be filled with chinese people... xD this year there's a whole lot more of them. first it was just a couple of guys, but now it seems like they have multiplied in the basement (it has a ping pong table there, and sometimes they all gather there and laugh and are really loud.. we figured they have their multiplier there xD )
anyway, this street is really multinational because of all the schools near by :3

I've grown up in a town that used to be extremely prosperous, but has gone downhill from there. since my parents moved in from New York (Long Island FTW! ), whenever my (sorta, kinda eccentric) Grandma comes to visit we usually get a few bug eyed looks from the people on lunch break from the factories...which isn't exactly racial, but is among the same lines of something being out of place in our neighborhood.

My neighborhood is mainly white and oriental Asian. There really isn't anyone that's "different" in my neighborhood, just whites and Asians, nothing interesting in my neighborhood. : /

My neighborhood is mostly white but there are a bunch of different nationalities living here as well. The one thing I can say is that my neighbors are all really nosy Southern people. Last time we had a storm one of our electric wires got hit and caught on fire. After the fire was out and the guys were trying to fix it, pretty much the whole neighborhood walked down there to have a look. They just kept walking by making noise and my dogs were all barking because the windows were open because the air was out. Ugh. Mind your own business!

But I see oriental people walking, since they live near the school on a different street, and since theirs a school down my street. :3

I live in a neighborhood where almost everyone is oriental or Indian Asian... so that doesn't really affect me. One thing I've noticed in my area are that we're dominantly a Caucasian and Asian community. In my school, there are only two or three people in an entire grade not Asian or Caucasian. I live in the northeastern United States, so it's no surprise that we tend to laugh at the southerners who stare at us(meaning the Asian part of my area) whenever we walk into a store. =A=;;

xDDD I know how it is.
I live in a small town.
90% white people.
7% black.
1% Asian. (Like, we have ONE Asian family here, and they run the Chinese restaurant. xD
1% India. (We have one Indian family.)
1% Other.

Well I don't live in a neighborhood ^^v [no I'm not homeless >.>''] But it's really really rare to see chinese or north-american people in my country [Ecuador]. I've seen a couple of white people walking while I was at a restaurant in the city center... and everyone was like :O
I also saw a chinese woman a few minutes later... and I kept looking back to see her again, and again, and again until I wouldn't forget her weird-shaped-face xD
PS: Indian people seem to be rare in the US.. Owo'

The neighborhood is predominantly Caucasian, but the area (defined by a number) still has only a very small minority.

I know what you mean : O
When we were in Peru,
every time we'd see a white person [other than ourselves]
someone would yell "gringooo!"
It's different ^^;;
My neighborhood's pretty mixed though...
I live next to an Asian family, an Indian family, and a white family : D

Im black...and When I moved into my neighborhood it was mainly older white people.
And slowly over the years more black people and hispanics have started moving in.
It was completely dumbfounded. I was used to neighborhood cookouts, and standing outside talking to your neighbor about stuff happening in other neighborhoods.
But now its like no one comes out anymore, and when the older white people do its only to criticize things that the other people are doing or how their houses look.
Weeeeird.
I kind of want to move!

When I was younger I lived in a multicultural area, but my family saw fit to take me away and move into a white christian place. No colour what so ever! I literally didn't speak for months because I was convinced they were all ghosts. That many white people in one place? (Yes I am white.) Well by the time I moved up to highschool I was so used to the lack of colour that when this black girl came to our school I actually stopped in the school hallway and stared at her! I wasn't alone either. I'm quite sure that the first years (I was in my second to last year) had never even seen a black girl before. I felt so bad for her!

Maybe it was a relative of one of the Asians that live on your street?
My street is multicultural (:
I live next door to a government-funded house and for some reason, my neighbours (we have new ones every few years) are always loud and rude ; 3;
They keep throwing stuff over.. and the other day, the little kid urinated on the roof of his house OTL
And at night time, you can hear other neighbours drag racing.
All in all though, it's not that bad.
eg. I would go out at night time for a midnight stroll by myself (with some pepper spray/deodorant spray) xD

For my whole life, the neighborhood I lived in....everyone was really really old. There was like on 5 kids in the neighborhood, me being one of then. Then gradually, one by one, all the kids moved away until I was the only one left. The only time I ever saw another kid was on Halloween and they were probably 10 years younger than me. But I didn't care because I was like, "OMG! I'm not the youngest person in the neighborhood any more!"

My neighborhood is mostly white, European based white. I think maybe one Italian family, but I think most of us are just blends of whatever that's white. Everyone in our complex is Jewish or Christian, but the Italian family is Catholic. Nothing else really. .__. No blacks or Indians, or Asians.
And then we have two Bazillion families. They stick out like sore thumbs, becos the adult only speak basic English, and are terribly loud and obnoxious. :/ Both families have little kids, and they let them just run around, screaming at the top of their lungs every morning. One family lets their dog shit in our yard, and doesn't clean it up. EVER.

My neighborhood is pretty multicultural, so I don't pay any attention to what race the people around here are. The whole concept seems rather silly to me. I'm basically blind to "races". Everyone's a flipping human to me.
