Okay. This is absolutely true.
I live in England, and I went to Woolworths to buy water guns for my birthday party. As I was selecting some of the biggest, I noticed a sign saying that I had to be 18 to buy imitation firearms. x____X
Isn't that retarded?
--> It must be noted that my friends went to a Woolworths in another town, and there was no such sign.
So. Should under 18s be allowed to buy dangerously shaped water guns? :O

I think so. That is freakin' idiotic, just because they're shaped like dangerous guns doesn't mean they are! Come on, it's a freakin' squirt gun, people!

@ Violet; I know, right? O:
It's also a travesty that, at almost 17, I look nothing like 18. xD

Nor do I, I'm 17 too. Some people say I look 14 or 15. I hate that now, but I'll love it when I get older.

Yeah, I look 14 or 15. Maybe it's because I don't wear make up...

It's a toy, it's not like you plan on going out and shotting people with it on the street.
It's a simple toy for a party. I think you should be able to because it was meant for all ages, mostly minors, though.

I hate how my face looks young now, but wait till I get older, like 30s-40s or something, then I'd like it.

Things like that make me laugh. It's a surprise we don't see that kind of crap more often over here in America. What kind of harm is a kid with a water gun going to do? "OMG! You got me WET! TERRORIST!!!!!"

That is ridiculously funny to me. You have to be 18 to buy a water gun? That is just stupid. And y'all are talking about being on age and looking another. I'm almost 22 and people still think I'm about 15 or 16. I guess it will come in handy when I get older

"I'm sorry but I think it's a little ridiculous that they're now restricting the purchasing of water guns because they look like firearms I mean isn't that what they're supposed to look like? Only alot brighter colors then black, brown, and gun metal grey?

Great. Next thing you know they'll be blaming school shootings on the water guns. They're so violent! Just the shape of them gets the thought of shooting other people for real into my stupid little kid's head!
Unless, of course people in your town have a habit of putting poisonous liquid instead of water into squirt guns. Honestly, anything can become a weapon. But if we focus so much on that how will we be able to have fun?

You should be allowed to buy them. It's not like you and your friends are gonna go on a killing spree with Super Soakers or whatever.
They just ban them because some people (stupid ones) think they are real guns and might do something to harm you or put you in jail. . .
Stupid right?

There was a kid that threatened people with a water gun when I was in high school. I don't see why you should be 18 to buy a toy though.

LOL, threatening people with water guns! "You do this, or I'll-I'll squirt you to death!" Maybe they're lethal for the Wicked Witch of the West, but not in real life!

Yeah, the kid wasn't the brightest person. Funny thing is that they shut the library down that day because they thought he had a real gun.

LOL.
But they don't even look like real guns! I mean, most water guns are neon blue or orange with a giant logo on the side, and look nothing like a real gun.

YES!! Minors should be allowed to buy water guns. xDD
Who dies or gets seriously injured from plastic toys shaped as weapons, and squirt out water as ammo? Exactly..
Either the people there are idiotic, or someone was playing a joke.
I remember there was this one bag, people were to draw on it [I forgot what it was for], and on one side, it had a lot of designs, but on the other side, someone drew a penis, and wrote, "Do not draw on the back." Haha..

Of course minors shouldn't be able to!! You could squirt your eyes out! xD
Wow, I had no idea there were such rulings. Things have really changed since I was little. o_o Nowadays I'm hearing how certain games are being banned in the playground because "children can get hurt..." and now this? I guess society's trying to get overprotective as a means of "lowering" violence?
