Hello, all. I've decided to post a few of the poems I've come up with recently, and this seemed the right place to do it. -Looks around at shiny new thread and sighs- Well, here goes nothing...

And Nothing More...
By: Cadone

When we were kids,
we played a game,
called Seven in Heaven

I remember one time,
when it was my turn,
and I stepped into the closet

My partner, now,
She was nervous,
as I was myself

I embraced her to me,
And whispered softly,
in her ear

When we go out,
we'll say we kissed,
and nothing more.

Now, I've grown a bit,
And still today,
I play this game

My partner,
she grew, too,
and was with me once again

This time,
there was no soft embrace,
just passion running free

And as we finished,
she took my hand,
and whispered with a smile

When we go out,
we'll say we kissed,
and nothing more...

As I See the Sunrise...
By: Cadone

As I lay here
Broken
Unable to move
Amidst this vile expanse
Of ruin that is
My own creation
And consequence
I find myself
Wishing
For three
Most simple things

I wish that
Somehow
I could eradicate
All of
The choices
I made this night
To poison myself
And
Willingly
Endanger another
Whom
Is innocent
Of my error

I wish that
I
Could have
No
Would have
Said goodbye
To my family
And those
Of my friends
Who would
Have discouraged me
From this undertaking

And
My final wish
As
I see
The sunrise
Just over
The golden
Horizon
Is
For all
The people whom
I have wronged
By these
Choices of mine
To know
That I am sorry
And
Have paid
The final penalty
For my sins...

Moonlight Nocturne
By: Cadone

O'er the snow, glistening bright
Shines the soft and pale moonlight

Through the great trees the wind, how it stirs
The frost-laden branches of the pines an' the furs

The midnight-black sky is embedded with stars
Diamonds in coal forged with the Heaven's dark fires

And the moon, oh, the moon, it hangs in the sky
Calm and serene, as the morning draws nigh...

A Thousand Paper Roses
By: Cadone

One for the girl who broke my heart
A couple more for they who still hold it dear
Still more go to the people in my life
Who taught me how to laugh and love
Two for my parents who believed in me
Another for the friend who saved me so many times
Some go to the teachers at the schools
Where I’ve sat and learned at all my life
Three for my sister, I love her so
Four I lay down on a grave, why’d you have to leave
Five are sent to friends abroad I haven’t seen in many years
But the rest go to a single soul who’s almost gone
Their times almost up, won’t be here much longer
They don’t want to leave, but can’t say goodbye
For the sake of all the tears they’ve cried…

I will add more presently. Please feel free to leave a comment, constructive criticism, etc etc etc.

Ever looking forward,

Cadone

I realize, Faerie. :P

As for now, I have more examples of my writing to share!

Untitled (A free-form)

"I guess... I guess this... This is it, then?" I asked slowly, unable to believe this was happening. My fists clenched and unclenched by my sides, and my wings furled out to their full ten foot span as I bowed my head, tears running down my face. The rain stung my bare arms and chest, cleansing the still-bleeding cuts and scratches there.

"This... is goodbye?"
She turned away from me, hugging her arms to herself as the wind howled and moaned around her slender form, making her raven locks dance and sway. Her torn white dress stood in stark contrast to the dark stone of the sea-cliff she stood on, as the ocean waves roared and crashed on the cliff face below. She trembled visibly, shaking from the chill of the rain and the wind and the night.

"... Yes..." she whispered, barely audible above the noise of the waves and the wind, even to my superior hearing.

"This is goodbye... forever..."
I turned my face to the heavens, letting the rain wash my face of my tears. With a powerful downward sweep of my wings, I launched myself into the air and climbed, climbed straight up above the darkened palace and sea-cliffs, above the place where my love stood now, so pitiful, above the raging ocean waves. There I paused for a minute, and surveyed the scene below me. I could see the entire kingdom, from the palace gates to the far-off snowcapped mountains from whence I came down.

God... I murmured, blanking out everything around me and focusing solely on the small spark of my mortality still burning within my soul.

Thank you... Thank you, for letting me live again.
With that, I died, my mortal body falling and twisting through the air until it crashed into the tempest below, sinking beneath the waves. And as my soul sped upward towards the brilliant white lights of heaven for the last time, I saw her still standing on the sea-cliff, looking out at the spot where my body had fallen.

Goodbye, Arabelle... I love you.

Wicked

I'm no angel from heaven sent

I'm no messiah for your sins to repent

I'm no saviour for mankind meant

I'm no paladin against evil intent

I'm not one to softly hold

I'm not one to be controlled

I'm not one whom fate foretold

I'm not one to keep the mold

I'm a prisoner in chains to bind

I'm a martyr to be in myth enschrined

I'm a madman to his fate resigned

I'm a soul within limits unconfined

I'm the one sent straight from Hell

I'm the one whom tolls Death's Knell

I'm the one with lies to tell

I'm the one for whom wicked is well

My World

Oh, hello, why there you are, come in!
You'll be staying a while, then, I presume?
Well, then kick back, relax, you're in for a ride,
Welcome to my world, step right on inside.

Here we have fairies going by on the wing,
And angels sporting halos of silver, not gold.
The cat population is cute, though really quite chatty,
And the songbirds behave quite, well, rather batty.

There's the firebirds flying across the blue morning sky,
And dragons lairing in the mountians there yonder.
There's cherry blossom trees, they're really quite pretty,
Growing on the outskirts of the elves' own woodland city.

There's a jazz quartet playing down by the ridge,
While the rock and roll band is on tour somewhere or other.
There's country music playing just about everywhere, too,
It helps Larry run away from You-know-boo-hoo.

The dwarven lands produce great feats of the age,
Gems and metals formed into works of priceless art.
The pirates steal all of the ninja's shiny plunder,
But they steal it right back under the cover of thunder.

That's just the surface, but wouldn't you know,
I've kept you so long, you'd better get home.
But if you ever come back, know that you will be told,
Welcome, welcome to my world.
