I actually like it white; I think by having it without colour, it would draw the attention more to the characters than if it had a coloured background.

PS I LOVE YOU <3

The contrast to blue is yellow so something pale yellow. It will bring the blue out more. BUt do tell me the black thing in the back, what is it? On my computer it's to dark for me to see.

Perhaps a medium gray, leaving the circle white? That way the sides wouldn't be quite so empty. Either that, or you could go for some nature background under the night sky. Whatever you go for, your drawing looks really good so far ^^.

I don't think it needs anything, but if you really want to add something maybe put smaller grey circles inside the big one so it looks really moon-ish. And then add some yellow? I dunno, I like it as is.

>.>; Minor note... blue's compliment is not yellow, it's orange. Yellow is the contrast to purple. ^^

:ahem: On topic... the white certainly does bring you homing in on the characters, however if you're going to do that, then you need to get rid of the white in their outfits (the detailing on the navy portions of the clothing). It has a bit of an unfinished look if you leave it that way.
