Name: Elisabeth Von Reculia
Age: 37
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Height: 5' 7''
Weight: 120
Title: Mage of Light
Alignment: Light
Weapon(s): She carries upon her person only a staff and a few small daggers. As she usually isn't molested, due to having personal bodyguards and the like, she doesn't see much in the way having any reason for weapons on her person.

Origins: Eirosian, but currently in Duvah

Description: Elisabeth has long silver white hair that flowing down her backside, tho she is only 37, she appears much younger. It is full and luxerious but it came from a grisily price, the cause of an magic experiment gone astray. Her eyes are a deep green which seem to hold too deep a sorrow for her age. Her features are soft and delicate which can often belie the determined glint her eyes gets when she wants her way about something.

Personality: Elisabeth is a quiet personality, but it is a quiet strength. She has known great pain as well as great joy. They never truly balance but she doesn't regret it, it only pushes her to do better. One day the scales will balance that she promises. She has a great deal of sex appeal and no qualms about using it.

History: Elisabeth was born to a what could be be described as an impoverished noble family. Her father was an eccentric technomage who liked to combine technology with magic but was rarely successful in his ventures. Her mother was a beautiful if shy young wealthy noble woman who fell in love with his genius. They were happily in love but ran through her inheritance within a few years of Elisabeth's birth so were gently poverty stricken until her grandmother promised to bring the child up. They agreed so lost in each other and her fathers inventions they barely even noticed she was gone.

She however had her father's penchant for magary though she had no interest in technology except as how it could be used to benefit her. So she dabbled in it, a spell for lighting a room going array and instead ended up infusing her body, making her hair turn into the silver shade it is to this day, she found out there was a side benefit to this and no longer had a need for a focus for her spells so all, tho she had lost her mother, father as well as her grandmother in the accident as she was trying to show them the spell. It almost destroyed her but she carried on no matter as she always had.

Elisabeth was presented at court and served as one of the ladies in waiting. She was 17 when an older man was brought before the court and publicly disgraced. He was accused of slaughtering many innocents as well as the enemy. It would see only she could see the pain of loss within and when he was stripped down before the court and set out on the green field outside of the castle, she went to him and wrapped her own cloak around him and led his broken man back to her quarters, tending to his soul listening as he cried out his rage and sorrow.

Listening as he told her what he remembered though it wasn't much. However she could sympathize and was angered at the world that would blame a wonderful man such as this for what he had done. In her innocence she had fallen in love with his quiet dignity as every thing was removed from him and she romanticized him and comforted him in the only way sometimes it is possible.

She joined his rebel cause, eventually taking it into her heart as well. She was married off again when she was 19 to yet another noble, who was abusive and corrupt. She bore him one child ;a son, which her husband's father took away from them, due to their affairs with Eirosan rebels. Eventually, this husband got himself killed as well after Elisabeth had been banished to Duvah.

She moved her way up the ranks, due to the skills that her second husband insisted she hone during their marriage, and Elisabeth has no compunction about using her sex appeal and appetite to further her own goals. She has even been rumored to have been the lover of the now King, though those rumors remain unsubstantiated.

Name: Kadoria Silvis

Age: 19

Race: Human

Gender: Female

Height: 5' 1''

Weight: 115 lbs

Title: Bard

Alignment: Light

Weapon(s): She doesn't carry much in the way of weaponary tho she always has on hand a few small daggers as well as a darkwood staff to dissuade overeager paramours and ruffians. One light tap with the staff is enough to knock some commons sense into all but the most dense of people. Tho she has been known to make a weapon if need be out of the oddest of items that were handy, not the least of which were a mirror, a gitar string, ground pepper (admittingly the guy had an allergy to pepper but it was amusing)

Origins: West

Description: Kadoria is one of those charming beautys you think are mere eye candy, all fluff and no substance until you look into her jade green eyes which shimmer with the clever witted intelligence of a mind that would normally have been stuffed into a mage academy. That was until they heard her sing and play. Her ebony black hair flying about her animated face as she danced, the music literally coming alive around her. Her slender frame and delicate pale beauty at odds with the passion of her song coming forth from her throat, wether a gentle ballad or a lusty cant. Her appearance would be as if someone from the east with a getnle slant of eye, small build and beyond were it not for the piercingly intellifent jade green eyes and overly pale skin. She can at times she can go into a trance like state where her song compostiitons are almost unearthly. Ruining one of these trances can bring an almost shocking discordance upon the disturber as if to shatter his will.

Personality: She is a bit of a dual personality, she at first appearances appears rather meek and mild, remember window dressing. But get her in a subject she is passionate about such as music or history and watch her eyes and body come alive as she animatedly talks of them for hours on end. She is loyal to a fault if she finds someone worthy of her trust. She is a bit wary of warriors and the like, tho she will often be escorted by one who is taken with her and wants to sepnd time with her. She however isn't very free with her favors and treats each new friend cautiously until she is certain of them. Once she is a bit more comfortable her fun side comes out and she isn't above practical jokes on her friends. She loves riddles and puzzles as well as understanding people in general. She tends to fight for the underdog but she has to believe in the cause and is far from the decent fighter tho she will fight if something she cherishes is threatened such as friends or a cause she believes in. She will go out of her way to help if at all possible tho if a child is involved. She is extremely charasmatic when she chooses to be but the choice as it should remains with her and her judgement.

History: Kadoria was the typical light of her family and village's life. Raised by her five older brothers after her mother died giving birth to her, her father died of a broken heart. She cared ie cooked and cleaned for her brothers while they kept the family going with their various skills. Kadoria was also found to have the blessing of music with her and she was taught the skills that did not come easily to her such as intrument creation etc. Hoping one day as most young girls of her village, who did not marry to go and learn to be a mage, putting music behind her as all childish things must be put away. For her village needed a mage as the one they had currently was dying slowly.

Her bright and mischevious nature was the light in her brothers lives until her 12th birthday. She was embarrassed by her moonflow and went to see the village herbalist and healer to see what was wrong with her body. On the way there she was stopped by a traveling troupe of minstrals, one of whom saw her gitar on her back and her voice lifting over the meadow as she walked. Entranced with her voice and already blooming beauty he decided he must have her for himself as his apprentice and lover. She fought him but was overcome. He kept her captive for several years, refining her skill even as he used her body against her will. Finally she began to improve beyond even his teaching and he grew jealous, beating her within an inch of her life and dumping her by the side of the road.

She was found by a traveler who brought her to the Temple of light, where she spent several months in a sorta almost fanatical trance, tho it was musical in origin, someone taking down the lyrics and music as she sung them, never fully aware of anything around her. When Kadoria finally awoke, she was tended as best as possible and stayed several more years at the temple, playing for the people there till finally she was strong enough to leave on her own to seek her home, tho she no longer remembered it's name only trying to find some purpose, perhaps some friends but even so a bit of peace within herself. Her past life like bit of a long forgotten song that only the basic tune is remembered.

Name:Kalin D'Nom
Race:Human
Age:18
Weapons:A gift from the mages that raised Kalin, there appears nothing out of the ordinary about the quarterstaff at first glance. Upon closer inspection however, there are several Eastern blessings written upon the wood, burned in with great care. Each of these blessings can be called upon by Kalin in order to activate their special charms. They do not disappear upon use, but can each, only be used once a day. There are three charms upon the wood. If there ever comes a time that all three charms are used in a single day, all of the burnings will dissipate and the quarterstaff will become nothing but a simple and elegant staff for the young mage. The quarterstaff can also be used as a normal weapon by the mage, though if the item breaks, then any and all charms are null and void unless fixed by a magic repair.

Duration:Instantaneous
Casting Time: One standard action.
Powers:A white mage for lack of anything better to call it.
Appearance/Personality:A petite redhead, Kalin has bright and curly red hair that streams in tendrils down to her shoulders in a rough and ragged mop. Light gray green eyes that light up easily in amusement, there also seems to be a shadow of sadness behind the merriment, though she often doesn't stay around long enough to let people close enough to see. Slightly curvaceous, she has no real eyes for the males or even the females, flitting from one companion to another, letting none really hold her heart.

Wearing a soft lavender cloak, her entire wardrobe is in shades of purple, from the simple purple tunic and pantaloons, to the deep violet purple boots upon her feet. Always ready to leave at a moments notice, the young Kalin is always still a picture of messy prettiness. White wrappings around her wrists guard her slender bones from damage in the event she is called upon to actually fight with her quarterstaff.

Quick to anger, she will go out of her way to help others, always glad to help others, often resisting help on her own. To the frustration of her teachers, she was a clever child but often getting into mischief and trouble as she escaped classes and the temple itself as she sought to amuse herself. Few of her teachers at the Temple had the capabilities to actually hold the woman child's interest, but still she managed to excel in her studies due to self-study and aptitude.

Paladin of the Primes|

A knight bound by honor, and dedicated only to the service of the Primes as well as Eiros herself, a paladin is a singularity that defies most description. The Paladin is an elemental warrior. Putting his faith within the Primes and their elemental Power, a Paladin trains not only his body, but his spirit as well, attuning his own spirit with their chosen element. The Paladin is surrounded by an elemental aura, and focuses this aura through his chosen weapon to unleash powerful attacks upon his enemies. When focusing his aura for an attack, however, the Paladin does not gain the defensive bennefits that it offers until the ability is discontinued and the recovery time has passed; his Aura is either too exhausted or concentrated somewhere else, and it cannot be used to defend or use another skill.

At the start of his training, a Paladin takes a Chosen Weapon. From this point on, the Paladin can use this and only this weapon to focus his aura, as a part of his strict dicipline. The Paladin becomes so familiar with the weapon throughout his training that it becomes like an extension of himself; and through it he focuses his aura in order to make elemental attacks. A Paladin shares a bond with his weapon, as it has been imbued with a part of the Paladin's own spirit, and he can sense its presence no matter where it may be.

If the weapon is lost or stolen, the Paladin must seek it out and retrieve it. If the weapon is broken or damaged, the Paladin must attempt to have it repaired. If the weapon is destroyed or lost forever to the Paladin, then he must choose a new weapon to take its place.

Replacing one chosen weapon with another is a serious matter, and this should be reflected in the roleplaying. A new weapon could take weeks, even months for the Paladin to adjust to.

Other than this, there is no restriction upon what type of weapon the Paladin takes as his chosen.

Strengths:
  • Skilled in their chosen weapon.
  • Heavy armor does not interfere.
  • Ability to unleash elemental attacks.
  • Partial immunity to magic.

Weaknesses:
  • Only one usable weapon.
  • Follows a strict code.
Skills|

Warrior of (Element)

Melee Weapon Knowledge - (Weapon)
General knowledge with the chosen weapon is known, such as which end is held, and which end goes into things that you want to die. A few basic techniques are known and a little practice has been had, enough to give an advantage over someone unskilled in that weapon.

Faint Aura of (Element)
The Paladin is surrounded by a faint aura of his chosen element; this aura grants a slight resistance to magical attacks of the opposing element and allows the Paladin to sense magical energy of the same or opposing element up to a distance of 50 feet.

Imbue Weapon
The Paladin's weapon takes on his elemental aura (ranging in strength from faint to overpowering depending upon the strength of his aura). Attacks made while this ability is active carry the elemental subtype for damage (such as slashing damage AND fire damage), and a sufficiently strong strike from an imbued weapon can harm even spells.
Casting time: 2 seconds | Recovery time: 2 seconds | Range: Self

Transferrence
A Paladin is able to protect others by extending his aura to them. If the Paladin is within range of an ally, he may transfer all defensive bennefits of his aura to the ally (note that doing so prohibits the use of aura techs until the ability expires).
Casting time: 1 second | Recovery time: 2 seconds | Range: 20 feet (1 Ally)

Crusader of (Element)

Melee Weapon Training - (Weapon)
A little bit of training with the chosen weapon has been undertaken. Practice makes perfect, and though this level of skill is still far from perfect, it reflects perseverence and dedication to improvement. A trained weilder can easily best a clumsy oalf who has just picked up this weapon.

Weak Aura of (Element)
The Paladin is surrounded by a weak aura of his chosen element; this aura grants a little resistance to magical attacks of the opposing element (reducing their damage categories by one rank, to a minimum of 'minor') and allows the Paladin to sense magical energy of the same or opposing element up to a distance of 200 feet.

Empower Weapon
By focusing his aura into his weapon, the Paladin empowers his own attacks; increasing his strength and adding elemental damage to his blows. This elemental damage oftentimes will go through even if a strike is blocked, but not with a missed attack.
Casting time: 2 seconds | Recovery time: 2 seconds | Range: Self

(Element) Guardian
The Paladin can concentrate his aura into one place, forming a solid elemental shield that can be used to block attacks or to attack. Anything touching the shield other than the Paladin will suffer minor elemental damage from his concentrated aura.
Casting time: 1 second | Recovery time: 2 seconds | Range: Self | Duration: 5 minutes or until destroyed

Paladin of (Element)

Melee Weapon Training (2) - (Weapon)
A slight improvement in skill with the chosen weapon.

Aura of (Element)
The Paladin is surrounded by an aura of his chosen element; this aura grants a resistance to magical attacks of the opposing element (reducing their damage categories by one rank, to a minimum of no damage dealt) and allows the Paladin to sense magical energy of the same or opposing element up to a distance of 500 feet.

Wave of (Element)
When the Paladin's aura is focused into the weapon, the Paladin can unleash a purely elemental attack with a sweep of their chosen weapon. Only one such attack can be made for every time the weapon is charged with aura. The wave moves outwards along the path of the sweep until it collides with an object or disperses.
Casting time: 3 seconds | Recovery time: 2 seconds | Range: 20 feet | Damage: Moderate

Martyrdom
The Paladin is strictly devoted to his beliefs, and will not stay down if it means compromising his morals or failing the elemental spirits. The Paladin is able to retain conciousness for 5 minutes when he otherwise would have fallen due to exhaustion or injury (this does not effect Sleep status). Unless the Paladin recieves healing (for substantial injury), he will slip unconcious again when the duration has expired. This ability does not stave off death, merely unconciousness.
Casting time: Instant | Reuse time: 24 hours | Range: Self | Duration: 5 minutes

Chosen of (Element)

Melee Weapon Proficiency - (Weapon)
Time and training have made a skilled warrior out of what once was a clumsy youth. Proficiency reflects knowledge and training in every aspect of the chosen weapon's use, and the beginning of true skill.

Strong Aura of (Element)
The Paladin is surrounded by a strong aura of his chosen element; this aura grants a significant resistance to magical attacks of the opposing element (reducing their damage categories by up to two ranks, to a minimum of 'minor'; spells that cause 'minor' damage by default instead deal no damage) and allows the Paladin to sense magical energy of the same or opposing element up to a distance of 1 mile.

(Elemental) Strike
By concentrating and extending his aura, the Paladin is able to strike out from a distance with the aura itself; firing a blast of elemental energy in a straight line outwards from him in a direction of his choice. This elemental blast will continue on this course until it collides with an object that it can not push, break, or penetrate, or until it reaches the maximum distance.
Casting time: 5 seconds | Recovery time: 5 seconds | Range: 100 feet | Damage: Critical

Shield of (Element)
Similar to the (Element) Guardian ability, the Paladin concentrates his aura to create a solid barrier. The barrier covers at most 10 feet by 10 feet of area, but can take any shape as long as it does not exceed the size restriction. Anything that comes into contact with the barrier other than the Paladin suffers Moderate elemental damage.
Casting time: 2 seconds | Recovery time: 4 seconds | Range: 20 feet (originating from self) | Duration: 2 minutes or until destroyed

Hand of (Elemental God)

Melee Weapon Mastery - (Weapon)
Unlocking the full potential of the weapon, a Master is able to use it in ways that a novice could only imagine. Strikes are fast and accurate, and a Master fighting with his head should be able to best nearly any opponent in close combat.

Elemental Existence - (Element)
The Paladin is surrounded by an overpowering aura of his chosen element; this aura grants major resistance to magical attacks of the opposing element (reducing their damage categories by up to two ranks, to a minimum of no damage dealt) and allows the Paladin to sense magical energy of the same or opposing element up to a distance of 5 miles.

Heart of (Element)
The Paladin's aura concentrates around himself, forming an elemental shell that grants full resistance against elemental attacks of his opposing element, and deflects most attacks made against it. While in this shell, however, the Paladin's movement is restricted, and he cannot move faster than a slow walk. Any object that comes into contact with the barrier other than the Paladin suffers Major elemental damage.
Using this ability for long periods of time can quickly become taxing for the Paladin.
Casting time: 10 seconds | Recovery time: 15 seconds | Range: Self | Duration: 3 minutes or until destroyed

Wrath of (Elemental God)
The Paladin's aura erupts around him; creating an elemental storm all around which will harm, if not outright destroy any object caught in it. This ability is incredibly taxing upon the Paladin, and will use up most of his reserves in exchange for the sudden burst of destructive force.
Note: The casting time for Wrath of (Elemental God) is instantaneous if Heart of (Element) is already active. Wrath of (Elemental God) cancels Heart of (Element) when activated.
Casting time: 10 seconds | Recovery time: 2 minutes | Range: 50 feet | Damage: Major | Duration: 30 seconds
[/quote]

This is just the base abilities of a Paladin of the Primes. Each Paladin has their own further skill and ability list that differs from person to person with need.

Original Informational Write up by Joshua Weber

History: Blessed by the Primes themselves, there is only one Paladin each generation. Unfortunately for the Kingdom of Eiros, there has not been a True Paladin since Adrin Mheron, now retired. But upon the sighting of the mark upon the skin of a female child almost 18 years ago, there was great rejoicing. Despite her gender, there would be another Paladin, and this was seen as a sign of great prosperity.

Despite his age, Adrin Mheron trained the girl himself, alongside his grandson, restoring honor to his family as well as prestige. The Paladin is considered the representative of the country, even more than the royal family in some respects, representing the entity that gave birth to the entire country.

Djeren the Bard
Age: 23
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Status: Citizen
Class: Troubadour, Crewman (on Marlon's ship), Archer/Gunman (Basically, ranged arms. If guns aren't alowed, then just a bow and crossbow)
Origin: Krakos/Duvah (explanation in history)
Weapon(s): Bow and arrows, rifle (I don't know what's avaliable, fill me in?)
Physical Description: Djeren is a tall young man, and although he is a little bit heavy he always tries to look presentable. He has dark brown hair that he keeps rather shorter than the norm so he doesn't have to tie it back. His dark brown, almost black, eyes are very keen. Often described as an 'honest-faced man', Djeren has a friendly, welcoming countenance.
He has a way with instruments, and when he is not on the ship he is often seen with a classical guitar, in its case, strapped to his back. He also has an intricately carved mandolin, the family heirloom. He sings to accompany many of his songs.
Personality: Djeren has always been good with his hands, and even though he only has two instuments with him on the ship, he can play several more and learns how to play others fairly quickly. This gift has also made him quite talented in long-distance weaponry and machinery. Often, when he is caring for his instuments and weapons, he goes quiet, concentrating only on what is before him. Other sailors claim that when this happens, he is communicating with the soul of the item; he has never claimed this to be true or untrue.
At times, Djeren seems overtly patriotic to Duvah - he is actually just very loyal and thankful to a country that has given him so much. He is usually very calm and welcoming, only truly getting angered when his country is insulted or endangered. People who try to be an annoyance often find themselves at a loss around him, as he just smiles back.
History: Djeren hails from an old Krakos family of musicians, and the secrets of his trade were passed on to him. When Djeren was young, his parents gave him up to a Duvahian family friend and merchant, who raised him as his own in Duvah, always by the ocean. Being raised in such different cultures gave his music a very unique quality that earned recognition among the Duvah nobility, and he has often been invited to social gatherings to perform. About ten years ago he decided to take up archery, and has never lost interest in missile weapons ever since.

Joseph Demeter

Age: 20

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Status: Citizen

Class: Merchant

Origin: Duvah

Weapon(s): He is usually seen with a two foot long shashka, slightly curved and with a sharp edge. The hilt is guardless, with a ruby encased in the pommel. The double fuller near the back side of the blade is the only marking on it, and other than the gemstone it appears to be a common Duvahian sword.

Physical Description: A young man who has a wiry frame, or at least appears to have one at first, he stands at 5'4" and weighs 145 pounds. He has more of an atheletic build than anything else, and while not massively muscled, there is more strength to him than first appearance shows. The light brown hair 'pon his head hangs down to about shoulder-width and his hazel eyes seem to turn into gold, with the right light on them.

Personality: A man with a jovial personality, he is rarely seen frowning unless it's over a matter that is truly important to him. He has an uncanny business sense, which is why he was placed as a part of Marlon's crew in the first place. That, and he can fight, but fighting is of secondary importance to him.

History: The son of a prosperous Duvah merchant, he grew up around weights and scales, learning the tricks of his father's trade. Often teased at by his friends as having "no interest in women", he began to pick up on their habits and soon found himself a real charmer, though he never really did get himself a girlfriend before he joined the Duvah Navy. That didn't mean he wasn't looking, though.

By the time he was age seventeen, he was an experienced seaman, but better with matters of money and trade than with fighting. That said, he could fight well, and had proven himself to be an effective soldier. He has recently been chosen for Marlon's crew due to his skills, and is currently waiting for their eventual departure.

Tatianya "Tati" (said "Tah-tee") Sherstibytov nee Tanja de Paulain
Age: 21
Race:Human
Gender: Female
Status: Aristrocrat
Class: Gossip

Origin: Originally from Erios but imported to Duvah at a very young age to marry the elderly Lord Nikolas Sherstibytov by her father.
Weapon(s): Her wicked tongue. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a safety mechanism and is apt to go off at any time without the victim knowing it. Though she doesn't own a gun (her husband does), she's also an excellent marksman. She fairs best from far distances and would make a very good sniper if it wasn't for the fact that she felt she looked too masculine holding a gun.

Physical Description: Normally straight long blonde hair that she curls meticulously every day into a half up-do that is fashionable of the younger people in Duvah at the moment. Fair skin, brown doe eyes, and impish features allow her to get away with a lot more than she should really. Of a normal height, around 5'5'' and of a plumpish build. While skinny would normally be much more desirable, Tatianya's build only really shows in her chest and cheeks making her look like a cherub. Usually appears in what is known as "baby" hues, but only the ones that flatter her the most (see Green, Blue, Pink, and Yellow)
Personality: Tati is very cheerful, flirty and endearing by nature. However, being the horrible gossip that she is she can be extremely mean and spiteful behind another's back. Devoted to her friends (until they do something that doesn't please her or she finds no use for them), unforgivingly wicked to her enemies... behind their backs. She is also very feminine and considers herself a princess of sorts. She could care less about politics unless there was some juicy gossip to be had in it or she could be the first to tell everyone.

History: Tanja was born in Deinos, Erios, to a very wealthy noble family of the de Paulains. The youngest of two children (she has an older brother Frederik IV), Tanja was given everything she ever wanted. Happily for her mother, Tanja has always been very pretty and her mother taught her every trick in the book to use those looks for her own benefit.

Her father, Frederik III, knowing the value of a pretty daughter sought her a well established husband immediately when she began her woman cycles. Although the de Paulains were of the nobility, her father had serious invested interested in trade with Duvah and looked for a noble with similar interests and situations. After a few initial discussions with several candidates, the only man who, in Frederik's opinion and Tanja's horror, fitted the bill was the extremely elderly Lord Nikolas Sherstibytov. An ex-general in the King's military, landowner, extremely wealthy and known to have favour with the royal family, Nikolas was unmarried and looking for a young bride to continue on the family name. He and Frederik immediately came to an agreement and Tanja was shipped off to Duvah at the age of 15 to be married.

Taking her husband's name and changing her first name slightly to make it more acceptable in the Duvahian circles, Tanja became Tatianya. She has been living in Duvah ever since but still keeps her ties with friends and family in Erios strong and has made many friends from Chiazu in the meantime. Perhaps this is why she seems to know a lot more than anyone else in Duvah besides the members of the Royal family and the King's privy council. She really doesn't have much else to do either, besides gossip. Her husband only dotes on her in expensive things since he knows that love grows fonder with absence and she's only required to see his bed twice a year.

She has a young son, Wilhelm, whose looks are all his mother and nothing like his father. It has been debated the as to the identity of the father but both Nikolas and Tatianya swear Wilhelm is legitimate.

Princess Bridget Anya Zephyre
Age:10
Race:Human, though there is a few who question it.
Gender:Female
Status:Spoiled Brat
Class:Undecided
Origin:Duvah
Weapon(s):She plays with a bo staff, but she is far from proficient, though she has an evil left hook. As sworn by her brother.
Physical Description:Neither tall nor short, Bridget is rather average in height if not in looks. Thankfully, she; unlike her brother, did not inherit the Zephyre nose, instead having a tiny and pert little nose like a princess aught. Bright green eyes twinkle with mischief and if there is trouble to be found, she's usually at the cause of it...or if her brother's lab is being blown up. She is just beginning to develop curves, and you should feel sorry for the men when they start paying her the attention her looks deserve.

Her hair is brown in color, and the shape of it varies from day to day, based on whim or fashion which is beginning to mold her choices. She is often in a scandalous mixture of female and male clothing that she picked up from her brother's less...savory companions.

The one oddity she has about her appearance is a set of small pointed ears, that when she was younger led people think her mother had bred with a demon. Now they just think that it's just her inner personality showing through.
Personality:She is a brat. She wants what she wants, when she wants it. And while she has her kind moments, she has been spoiled due to the relative ease of Duvah life.

Social Expectations.

Please remember, this is a medieval RP, and as such, we need to keep in mind the social strictures of the time. There are rules of society that need to be obeyed. Yes, this is an RP. Full of fantasy and whatnot. However, we still want it to have a rich and realistic flavor to the mood. As such, we decided to set up a little code of conduct of what to expect ICly. This are not things that are absolutes, but remember GMs can take advantage of these things in order to make life difficult on your character.

Clothing:

In Eiros ,Duvah, and Chiazu:

As much of a tomboy as your character may be, your female *coughSerefinacough*, you cannot run around in gender opposing clothing without a valid reason.

Such valid reasons would include but are not limited to:

They are of the warrior class. Such as paladins or knights.
It would be unsafe to wear a dress. (On a ship, near a forge etc.)
They are in disguise. (If caught, they could still be prosecuted for indecent exposure and the like)

If they are out and about, and erhm...Pardon the pun...exposed, they they have to deal with the consequences. For a woman caught on a boat in disguise, they could be flogged and tossed overboard. For a woman simply wearing pants, then they could be locked up in a female jail until a male relative came for them (Although Duvah is more lenient, it is still an aristocractic society. And Chiazu's clothing in general is more gender neutral.)

To a degree, you can get around with wearing pants IN society, if you are rich, eccentric and the like, but again, you can and probably will be harassed and the like.

Womanhood in General:Despite the progress that Duvah has made, the rest of the world is still behind. Women are still expected to marry, have kids and gossip. It is the exception rather than the rule for a woman to carry a weapon. For a woman to be a priest, is unheard of. The only reason that a female paladin is even remotely heard of in Eiros, is the fact that there was the whole High Priest (Pope like dude) giving it his blessing because even he couldn't deny the signs...and the only other paladin in existence saying so. And even then, the poor girl has to take on another identity all together so as to not be too different, in case she has to rule later.

Tends to dress in a pair of black pants, a black tunic, black boots, black fingerless gloves, and a black leather collar with a sterling silver charm on it in the shape of a wolf's head. When she is meeting the nobility of Duvah, Alex does change into a skirt, even though she hates them.
Weapon(s): Alex likes small blades, keeping several knives on her body at all times. There's one knife sheathed to her back between her shoulder blades, two sheathed to the inside of her boots, and two dirks sheathed at her waist. When in Duvah, he only carries her weapons when not in an audience with the king or other nobility.
Equipment: Black leather backpack, which she carries supplies in when traveling, her book of shadows, various herbs and magical components, a ceremonial athame, a deck of tarot cards, a pendulum, etc.
Weaknesses: Alexiel is mortal and can be killed, though she is slightly more resilient to damage then most normal humans, due to the magick she has tapped into. Another weakness lies in her loyalty to those she considers friends, especially her brother and avian companion.

Abilities

Alexiel has a natural affinity for magick and is far better in the magickal arts than she is in combat.

Storytelling: An ancient art passed from generation to generation amongst her people. The elves’ storytelling magick is an illusory magick. The magick, according to legend was first developed in order to assist with the handing down of their people’s history. Through the use of illusion magick, the elves could bring their stories to life and further impress them on the minds of young and old alike. For the weaker of the storytellers, their magick is simply illusion but the more powerful mages can use their magick to truly bring the stories to life, making the illusions a reality. Alexiel is well trained in the art of storytelling, though she is yet unable to give life to her illusions.

Telepathy/Empathy: Alex has always had a natural sense of empathy, she’s quite adept at reading how people feel and this is often closely tied to her storytelling ability, because she often uses her stories to affect people’s moods. She is also skilled in the art of telepathy and uses it quite often to communicate with non-humanoids and sometimes with other humanoids. Through the use of telepathy, she uses what she likes to call, 'The Sight'. She can see through the eyes of other beings, if they allow her. She often performs this technique through her familiar, Daemon, using him as a spy of sorts. And she can use her ability to get other creatures to help her as well. She has always had a closer relationship to animals than with others of her kind.

Magickal Rituals: Alexiel can perform rituals, much like any witch could, though she only reserves such magickal workings for dire situations.

Natural/Racial Abilities: Improved hearing and sight, as well as better sight as night. Elves live far longer than humans as well and it is not known how long they can live naturally. She’s capable of living off the land as well, her people being very close to nature.

Description

Alexiel is small and fragile looking, lacking in extreme physical strength. But don’t let appearances fool you. She’s quite capable of taking care of herself. There is a set of scars on her left shoulder blade, that run diagonally towards her spine, the claw marks of some beast. She is deathly pale, with an almost luminescent sheen to her skin that is particularly noticeable in the moonlight when her skin almost seems to glow. Her figure is slender in nature and she is unusually flat-chested for a female of any race.

Her hair is naturally a strawberry blonde color, though, through the use of her illusion magic, her hair often appears to have blonde streaks in it. She keeps her hair cut to chin length and it gradually gets shorter in the back, this keeps her hair from getting in her way most of the time as she can keep it tucked behind her ears. Her eyes are largely cobalt blue in color with flecks of grey and lighter shades of blue mixed in.

Her clothing is usually black in color and she almost always wears long-sleeved tunics and pants. Her shoes of preference are leather boots, usually calf-high in height. She’s never seen wearing anything other than her normal attire, unless it is an occasion of importance that requires her to wear a dress or skirt. When traveling, she wears a black hooded cloak to shelter herself from the elements. If her clothes are black, they are always trimmed in silver. Those are her colors of preference.

Personality

Alex is quiet and shy, never really saying anything to anyone unless they happen to be a close friend of hers or she’s performing her duty as a storyteller. In fact, the only time she seems too actually like talking is when she’s telling or singing a story. When not weaving the magic of her people’s legends, she prefers to be alone.

Alex prefers to rely on her wits instead of brawn, she’ll often sit back and watch in order to get a hold on a situation before she rushes in. She might not appear to be physically strong, but she has a strong spirit and can be quite stubborn sometimes. Her mood tends to switch, from playful to serious, and if she’s in the wrong mood or the wrong thing is said to her, her temper will flare. Most of the time though, Alex is rather reserved.

Alexiel is a very loyal person, doing what she must to ensure the safety of those she cares for. Some people would say that she is loyal to a fault. Alexiel also has a kind heart and is almost always willing to help another. She is not without a sense of justice though and will try to avoid helping those who don’t deserve it. For Alex, there are three things that are important to her and that take precedence over all else, including her own safety and well-being. The three things that Alex values more than anything else are her family, her people, and nature.

History

Alexiel was born in Itztli to a powerful and wealthy family, her parents being members of her tribe’s council. She lived a fairly normal childhood, her parents raising her with the intention of marrying her off to the son of another council member. Alexiel was never quite satisfied with training how to be a house-wife though; she always preferred to wander off on her own into the forests and jungles of her homeland to write and play with the wildlife. To her, the animals were much better companions than some silly husband. Besides, she liked talking with the animals and they liked her. It was something the rest of the village noted, but never concerned themselves with very much. It wasn’t until Alex reached the age of 13 that her life drastically changed, that was when she got her first real taste of the magick that flowed naturally in her veins.

Alexiel had always loved listening to the stories that the tribe Storyteller told, the legends of her people and the Storyteller’s magick had always fascinated her. The old witch would speak of great warriors and mages who had defended their tribe from the hordes of the trolls and she would weave her magick, bringing the stories to life. Alex wanted to bring her stories to life. It was around the time of her thirteenth birthday that she began experimenting on her own with the magick of the Storytellers.

For awhile, Alexiel managed to hide her experiments from her parents, but when they found out what their daughter was doing, they became angry. When Alex was told to stop meddling in magicks that she had not been chosen to study, she refused. When her family tried to force to continue her path as a house-wife, she refused. Alexiel’s family disowned her. They threw her out of their home and refused to acknowledge her as one of their own. It was up to another member of the tribe to take her in. A stroke of luck befell Alexiel as the tribe member who was kind enough to take her in was none other than the tribe’s Storyteller. The old elf saw the potential in Alex, the powerful magick that lay dormant in her blood and spirit. She took Alexiel in and began her formal training as a mage.

It was during her time with the old crone that Alexiel found her familiar, Daemon. She had been out venturing in the woods when she came across the young gryphon. His mother had apparently made her home in the unused den of another creature and her body was lying at the mouth of the den, the gryphonet curled at her back. There were signs of a struggle and the evidence clearly pointed to the den having been attacked and the mother being mortally wounded in the fight to defend it. Alexiel took the young black gryphon home and nursed it back to health. It took her some time to tame the young beast but eventually he warmed up to her and has been with her ever since.

Eventually, time took its toll on her family and her parents passed away. Before their deaths, Alexiel returned home to reconcile with them and found that all was not well with her family. Her older sister, Elizabeth, had been hiding a dark secret. Her parent’s failing health was not merely the ravages of time. Elizabeth had slowly been poisoning her own parents because she wished to inherit their belongings and power. She had hidden her scheme well from her brother, Aerinn, but Alexiel was a different story. Elizabeth couldn’t hide her murderous intent from her sister’s empathic nature.

Once her sister’s treachery was revealed and she was exiled from the tribe completely for her crimes, Alexiel was accepted into her family once again. As the eldest of her parents heirs and a trained Storyteller, she took up her parent’s position on the council until such time as the current Storyteller of her tribe stepped down, at which time she would become the official Storyteller of her tribe and her brother would take her place on the council. When Duvah took Itztli as a colony, plans changed and the tribes gathered to select an ambassador for their people. The old Storyteller who had raised Alexiel, one of the oldest among the elves, nominated Alexiel. The tribal councils voted and Alexiel was chosen to the ambassador.

Theme Song: How Soon is Now by Love Spit Love

Familiar

Daemon is a gryphon, which are creatures that only occur naturally in Itztli. Gryphons are like the ones from legend, only house cat sized and they grow no larger. They're not super intelligent either. In Itztli, gryphons are used in Gryphonry, which is exactly like our Falconry. They can also be kept as house pets, though they may grow bored if not allowed to hunt. Taming wild gryphons is extremely difficult and it is highly recommended that one take them from the wild before they've hatched and train them from birth. Daemon, in particular, is a solid black, male gryphon.

Name: Taria Parish

Age: 19 years old

Race: human

Gender: female

Status: Nobility of standing

Class: Sorceress

Origin: Eiros

Weapon(s): She loves daggers of all kinds. She wears harnesses for throwing daggers in her right sleeve, a hand dagger in her left sleeve, a sheath for a bodice dagger (those things hurt if you don’t sheath them…) and one on her left thigh. The one worn on her thigh is her ceremonial dagger and is one solid piece of ornamented silver. The pictures on it are of the nightshade flower and the crescent waxing moon.

Physical Description: Her intensely red hair flows in straight lines to the middle of her back like a river of tomato soup. Her eyes are the color of pine needles, and her skin is so pale that you can see the purple blood run through her veins. Her breasts are the size of grapefruits and their pertness betrays her currently unwedded state (no children…). She is slender, though lightly muscled, and stands about 5’5”.
(I don't always talk like this... I was in a odd mood.)

Personality: She is a happy-go-lucky, sweet, friendly woman… at least in public. People are drawn to her and tend to quickly feel as if they can trust her. Many people who spend any length of time with her have come to love her deeply. She treats people with respect, no matter their station. However, she holds status and station in deep regard and expects people to treat her as her birth requires. She is flirtatious and sassy, but is known in court to be of clean reputation.

History: Her father raised her to a love for the peacock strutting and intrigue games of a royal court. Her mother raised her to the hidden life of a witch. Not a mage or elementalist, mind you, a witch. Her family had passed this matriarchal worship down for 10 generations and she was raised with the oral tradition for bedtime stories. What a scandal it would cause if it was known that a noble household had practiced these atrocities that could not be spoken in polite society, for over a century. She was raised in her parent’s manor in Deinos and her regular attendance at court allowed her to win the hearts of many people. She is headed to Duvah and Chiazu to meet possible suitors. She needed to marry someone within her religious practice, and most of those in Eiros were related to her. It wouldn’t do to have a suvorian witch subservient to a man, especially one who honored the Triad.

It is not as long as most of the others, but when I have read more and have a little more experience, I will expand it.

Name: Cinta

Age: 27

Race: Kracosian

Gender: female

Status: slave

Class: diviner/herbalist

Origin: Kracos

Weapon(s): not allowed to carry weapons, but she is skilled in maces and clubs.

Physical Description: A curvaceous woman of 5’9”, the defined muscles of her life of physical labor don’t detract from her shapely figure. She has darkly tanned skin and hair the color of wet soil that is always plaited down her back. Her eyes are a golden shade of hazel. Her owners dress her in vibrant shades of blue and green silks that drape over her body in sensuous folds. They are embroidered with gold thread and hung with coins and bells that jingle when she walks. They cover her in golden jewelry and paint her eyes with black night and her lips with red blood whenever they go out.

Personality: She is quiet and meek. She doesn’t like the life of a slave, but doesn’t lash out. Her greatest joys in life are healing people and assisting new life to enter the world. She balks at sharing her insights into the paths of the future, but her owners have made it clear that they will punish all of the other slaves if she does not.

History: Cinta was born among the tribes, but was kidnapped in a raid when she was 17. She was originally taken to be a prostitute, but as time went on, she began offering her skills as a midwife and herbalist to the other slaves. When she told a dying woman that the son she was giving birth to would not live in slavery, people assumed she was simply comforting her. When he was sold in secret to a noble couple who had lost their baby, they were suspicious. When she told a fellow prostitute not to go to the river that day and the spot she would have drawn water from was hit by a flash flood and washed away, the owners heard about it. They began selling her services as a fortune teller as well as a prostitute. She began to bring in more money than all of their other slaves combined.

Name: Shaelthin Bluesmokesight
Age: 27
Race: Caprataur
Gender: Male
Status: Shaman, within his tribe
Class: Shaman
Origin: Outside Eiros
Weapon(s): A trio of three-foot iron-tipped spears, and an old but well-maintained dagger. Shaelthin carries the dagger with him at all times, and the spears only when he knows he will need them.
Physical Description: Shaelthin and his people are half-goat and not half-horse, so they are therefore shorter and more compact than centaurs. Shaelthin stands about five and a half feet tall, with his spiraling horns adding another few inches. His human half is of healthy build, but he is not particularly muscular. The fur covering his goat body is white and curled like an angora goat's, and trimmed upon his arrival as he has recently been traveling. His hair is of the same hue and texture, and hangs to about his mid-back when he wears it loose. More often, however, Shaelthin keeps it in two ponytails to keep it out of his way. He also has a bit of a beard.

As far as clothing goes, Shaelthin's people traditionally only wear colorfully-woven ponchos over their human parts, as their long fur is enough to keep them warm in their mountain valley home. Since he is planning to live among humans, though, Shaelthin had a more civilized-looking coat and shirt made. He traded beads and cloth to a tailor in a human town near his homeland to have the clothing made; the navy coat and white shirt are well-made, but may appear a bit back-woods in style since they were made on the fringes of Eiros. Shaelthin wears these along with an indigo and white blanket woven by his family - the patterns woven into the cloth are meant to be for safety and good luck.

Finally, Shaelthin wears a bit of jewelry that identifies him among his own kind, at least, as a shaman. A few wide bracelets in various shades of wood grace his wrists and ankles, and there is always at least one string of beads around his neck or draped about his horns. A leather belt hangs low on Shaelthin's human waist, where he carries his dagger, a small leather pouch, and a carved bone pipe adorned with a few beads.
Personality: Shaelthin is calm and collected, and known among his own people for sound judgment. As the shaman for a clan of about thirty, he knows everyone but is not particularly close to any of them outside of his own family; since this has been the case since his selection as shaman when he came of age at fourteen, he is a bit lacking socially. Shaelthin is accustomed to being able to speak his mind, and he always does so - when ever he sees something in a vision or dream, it is his duty to tell the rest of the tribe in order to guide their decisions.

Though he is not allowed to say anything about it, Shaelthin is hopelessly addicted to the herbs he smokes in order to have his prophetic visions. Every few days, one might be able to find him late at night surrounded by the blue herbal smoke, in a deep daze. Anything real that happens when he is in such a state is generally lost to his memory when he awakens. In spite of this vice of his, Shaelthin has never had alcohol, and firmly refuses to ever drink any.

History: Shaelthin's tribe lives in a range of mountains on the fringes of Eiros; during the growing season, they reside in a fertile valley within the mountains, and then migrate to higher altitudes where they disappear into caves for the winters. They are known for the cloth they weave, both from the variety of cotton they grow in their valley, and the wool they sheer from their own bodies in the summer. They have always traded with nearby human settlements, but recently they have noticed humans venturing further and further up into their mountains.

The last two years or so, tensions have run high among Shaelthin's people as they wondered what to do about the encroaching humans. Shaelthin, who had been the clan's shaman since he had been chosen as a boy by random lot, provided them with an answer - he would go deeper into the human lands in search of whomever might be the human's chief or shaman, and negotiate. And so Shaelthin left the valley where he had lived his whole life to head into Eiros to better understand the humans, and ultimately somehow meet their king.

Name: Lei Tong (( Lao Hui ))
Age: 73
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Status: Craftsman/Fireworks maker
Class: Engineer
Origin: Chiazu
Weapon(s): A folding steel fan
Physical Description: Lei Tong's hair has already finished going white with age, and he actually still has most of it; the left front of his head is completely bald as a result of an injury he suffered at a much younger age, however, not due to his advanced years. His otherwise-cheerful features on the left side of his face are visibly scarred as well, and Lei Tong has a smokey glass replacement for the eye he lost in the accident. He is short a few teeth, as well.

When he is not working, Lei Tong prefers to wear loose-fitting clothes, usually in reds and yellows, with a red bandana tied over his head. On his feet are a pair of sturdy leather boots. When it is not raining or otherwise inappropriate to carry a firearm, the old man keeps his gun at his side, and carries several leather pouches with bullets and other equipment for maintaining and using the weapon. Lei Tong also generally carries a few small fireworks on him, insiting that they could come in handy at any time. He also keeps a folding steel fan with him, as well, with a red and gold tassle on the end that he tends to fiddle with.

Lei Tong wears a pair of heavy red-dyed leather gloves when he knows he will be dealing with his explosives, to help protect his hands from burns. He also dons a matching leather vest printed with dragons. On his head, he wears a shallow conical steel helmet like that of a Japanese ashigaru. Across the knuckles of each of his gloves is a piece of flint, so that with those and his steel fan handy, Lei Tong can get a spark when ever he needs one. The steel fan is almost always in hand, too, as the leather garb can get hot. Though the fan is not bladed, it is still heavy for its size and function, and easy to use to deter theives and bandits who might want to prey upon an old man.

He is fit for his age, and has little trouble performing any of the tasks necessary to his profession. Lei Tong practices martial arts in the mornings, which helps him maintain his strength and agility as well as he can, but he is still not a match for a younger man. Also, he has had the time to grow accustomed to his lack of a left eye, since the injury happened when he was in his early twenties. His other eye is still fairly sharp, and Lei Tong has gotten used to getting around, and even firing a gun, one-eyed. The matchlock is fairly primitive and inaccurate, anyway; at longer ranges, luck rather than aim determines whether or not he can hit something.
Personality: Lei Tong is a fun-loving man, even in his old age - something he maintains is essential for one like himself, who makes a living playing with gunpowder. He makes his explosives for the joy of seeing people's eyes light up at the sparks the fireworks produce, and is therefore perfectly content to be appreciated for his talents and not for his actual presence at parties and celebrations. Not to say that he does not like a compliment, though; Lei Tong specified the designs for his red dragon-patterned outfit with the hopes that he can be recognized on the street by it.

He has some degree of fame in parts of Chiazu, usually in big cities, and since coming to Duvah for research and some time away, Lei Tong still acts like the locals there should know his name. He insists that it is just habit to act that way, but does not deny that pride plays a part, too.

Lei Tong trained one apprentice earlier on in his life, and earned himself a reputation as a good but demanding master. Right now he is in Duvah primarily with the intent to look into their firearm technology, but he may also have an eye out for someone to take as a second apprentice. He was married for a long while, but his wife passed away five years prior without leaving him any children. Nowadays, Lei Tong will whistle at pretty girls, but he is not an old lecher - he compliments women, and then tells them to make sure they marry crazy young men like he once was.

His love of fun combined with his age and line of work makes him come off as reckless and more than a little off-kilter to some, but Lei Tong is at least careful enough with his fireworks, as he does not intend to repeat the accident that cost him his left eye when he was younger. As someone who makes fireworks for celebrations that are intended to drive out demons, Lei Tong is also extremely superstitious.
History: Lei Tong was born into a family of mine workers, but quickly realized that he did not want to spend his life underground. He left home as soon as he came of age and, after a year or so of near-poverty while he searched for his niche, finally found himself an apprentice to a fireworks maker. The job suited his need for some degree of excitement, and the need to travel, and so Lei Tong worked to become a master, in spite of the rigorous training, and an accident early on that cost him his left eye.

When he finally completed his apprenticeship, he returned to his hometown to give a fireworks show for his family and old neighbors, then set off to travel around Chiazu. Lei Tong never really gained a big name, but in the area he traveled, he was at least somewhat well-known. He dated several women throughout his youth, but found that none of them were willing to travel as much as he did. By the time he was in his forties, Lei Tong had just about resigned himself to a life as a single man when he met the woman who would become his wife until her death.

Though he was quite happily married, Lei Tong never had any children before his wife passed away just three years ago. He remembers her fondly, and freely says that he is content to follow her "whenever his time comes". Satisfied with his life so far, and with a feeling of complete freedom due to his age, Lei Tong recently decided to head off to Duvah, to see what the people there do with gunpowder, and just to catch the scenery. And, of course, to show the people of Duvah some real fireworks.

Weapon(s): Drache's weapon of choice is a large, heavy two handed sword, with the hilt extended an extra six inches to give him more maneuverability. He can, however, use other knightly weapons such as a spear, or the sword and shield combo. As a note, his weapon is as tall as he is. He also has some skill in hand to hand combat, though not really of any particular style anymore. Ten years can alter what you use quite a bit, when you stopped training at ten.
Physical Description: Drache is a tall man, though not really huge in any other obvious manner. Standing at 6'2", as tall as his grandfather before him, he's not as...bulky as one would expect on a knight. Yes he has some bulky muscle, and like any well trained knight his muscles are obviously defines, but most of it is lean muscle, added and compacted through years of practical training. Beyond that Drache has short black hair, kept trim so it wouldn't interfere with a helmet when he went into combat, and eyes so dark they they too could almost be seen as black. He's too large and rugged seeming to ever be considered a pretty boy of any sort, but Drache is quite handsome really, as a whole, with no obvious defects. Well, beyond the scars on his body, but so far his face is unmarked.
Personality: Having been raised in two societies that value honor, Drache is a knight through and through. He tries his best to uphold his honor, and be chivalrous, even if his natural more relaxed nature doesn't always show that. He can be a flirt at times, but being ever mindful of his position as a knight he has never let it go any further than a stolen kiss.
History: Drache's history takes a little explaining of his family history, at least recently. His grandfather had been a great knight of Eiros, a man looked up to by many younger knights. Really, most would have seen him as a man without fault. However, he spent months or years away from home at a time taking care of his knightly duties, and therefore the mans son was left in the care of the boys mother, who was a spoiled, scheming wench that he had been married to by his father.

Frankly, Drache's father grew up to be a bastard,

Now years passed, and the grandfather doted on his son like any father would. when his son showed no sign of wanting to follow in the knighthood, he wasn't forced too. And then, finally, Drache's father convinced his Grandfather that when he had produced an heir to continue the line, Drache's Grandfather should step down and devote all his time to the knighthood.

Drache was born, and his father inherited. Soon, Drache's father began to show just how rotten he was, and it was then that the Grandfather took Drache away, to raise him himself.

Now, we reach Drache's actual history, including him himself.

At the age of 5, Drache went with his grandfather on a knightly mission to Chiazu, to act as an envoy of sorts. There, they were met by the emporer, and counted as guests there. For five years after that Drache lived there with his Grandfather, as guests there, making friends with the people around, learning thier culture, and even learning the language. Then, as his tenth birthday approached, Drache was taken back to Eiros by his grandfather for it was the age for him to begin his knightly training. Training that Drache wanted dearly, even if it meant leaving his friends behind, as he idolized his grandfather.

So at the age of ten, Drache started his training, and met his own father for the first time in his memory. Needless to say, Drache was appalled by his fathers lack of honor and chivalry. If he had spent more time with his father, he might have been able to prevent the tragedy years later, or he might have just been dragged in himself.

You see, seven years later, before Drache had reached full knighthood, Drache's grandfather was assassinated. There is no proof as to who did it of course, as the old man had had many enemies among the court and knighthood for promoting peace. Drache inherited his Grandfathers huge sword, the same weapon he wields now, and was left alone to finish his training. Without his grandfather, he was no longer seen as a threat.

after finishing his training, Drache didn't go home for another two years, instead preferring to stay in the knights quarters at the palace, or travel. It wasn't until his father was executed for treason that Drache returned home, to set the affairs in order. He only stayed for a short while before leaving again however, having found more crimes his father had commited, and being determined to regain his families honor.

This path has taken him back to Chiazu for now, in the city where he had spent his childhood, just in time for the tournament...

Country: Chiazu
Character Name: Sukira ("Suki") Mai
Employment: Currently Acting Captain of the Persistence; formerly second lieutenant on the HMS Constance in His Majesty's Royal Navy.
Age: 18
Weapons: A modestly decorated sword of naval portions and a small double barrelled pistol.
Physical Description: Suki is of average height (probably 5'5") and of an average, but athletic build. The only really extraordinary feature about her is her flaming, wavy red hair which she usually keeps in a loose ponytail or bun at the nape of her neck. Unlike the rest of her family who have green eyes she has hazel eyes, but she has carried on the family sailing name of Mai.
Personality: Suki is incredibly driven to go far in life. She demands the best out of herself at all times and is constantly pushing herself. She might be a little type A. Suki has a general sense of humour which helps her get along with the lower hands but she still knows the rules of decorum (which she abides by meticulously) and how to speak with people of higher, more important standing. Suki hates things like pride, vanity, and indecision and puts all her worth into things like honor, valour, and decisiveness. She rarely lets herself enjoy a moment of glory however and tries to remain humble. She usually comes off as a little frosty because she sticks so much to the rules of decorum.
History:Suki comes from a long line of sailors. Her father, a former Captain in the navy, took his only child with him everywhere on the sea to teach her everything he knew. Even though the men had a superstition about a woman being on board, they took to Suki because she could dance a jig so nimbly to her little flute and entertain the men all night long when they asked. In return, they put up with her incessant questions about rigging, the loading of the guns, measures of grain for the daily ration, how the rats eat, and all other important matters on board. Suki just soaked it all up. When she was older, she left her father's ship and became a midshipman where she quickly impressed many higher personages with her quick mind, eagerness, and determination. Suki didn't want to attract the notice of these influential people but she has, and has been able to rise a little faster than normal to the role of second lieutenant. On her mother's side is a long line of merchants and Suki may not have learned as much from that side of the family but she certainly has picked up a few things regarding trading, sales, the economy, and the ways of the merchant guild.

Eri Mao, Scion of the Empire

Origin: Chiazu

Age: 25

Sex: Male

Race: Human

Status: Royalty

Title(s): Prince of the Empire; The Divine Spear

Class: Warrior

Weapon(s): Eri prefers all manner of spears, from the standard leaf-blade spear carried by the guards to the more intricate snake-head spear. Occasionally, he is seen wielding the jian, a thin, three foot long, double-edged sword that is favored by scholars of the Empire.

Physical Description: Standing at five foot six and weighing in at 155 pounds, he is what most would call a handsome man. His black hair usually hangs to the middle of his back, when he doesn't have it tied in a ponytail, and his brown eyes have a catlike slant to them. Decidedly stronger than he looks due to his kung fu and chi kung training.

Personality: A man who radiates a surety and confidence in all of his actions. He has always been bored with the affairs of running the Empire (though he is well-versed in them), and would like to be considered a normal person instead of a prince. He is also a known charmer and is a bit manipulative at times, but is honorable for the most part. Is inquisitive and has a knack for seeing what is underneath one's surface.

History: From the age where he could walk, he was born and bred to rule the Empire that his ancestors had built from chaos and disorder. Culture, history, politics, military strategies; like those before him, he was trained almost ruthlessly to become the next Emperor.

The stress that was placed on him as a child became too much at times, and Eri often snuck out (using the same clever tactics that he had been trained in) to search out those of his age who were unrestricted by rules and protocol. The young prince gave himself a different identity, and though he could not change his face or appearance, his false name was well enough to fool most people.

This skill would, no doubt, help him later in life.

Eri made many friends in his young life from the common people, and learned of their problems and their way of life. Because no one knew that this oddly perceptive child was the next ruler, no one minded telling him their various stories.

Of course, they were surprised to have their burdens lifted by the emperor himself a few weeks later, but they were never the wiser about who the boy really was until his tenth birthday. When he was missing from the palace on the eve of his celebration, the guards combed every nook, cranny, and small hiding place in the capital until they finally found him playing with the friends he had made.

Though his advisors advised it to him with no end, Zen Mao did not dicipline his son. Indeed, he was doing his nation a service by acting as the liaison between the throne and the people, and besides, he deserved a break from his relentless training.

After being dragged back to the castle without any sort of retaliation however, Eri was somehow more focused on his studies. The problems he had observed and retold to his father had inspired him. He vowed to himself to make the Empire a place where these sort of problems did not exist- or at least, to lessen the burden on the people greatly.

So life went on like this for a while, and Eri had a reasonably normal childhood for a prince. Then his fourteenth birthday came, and everything changed: Every prospective heir to the Empire had to make a pilgramige to one of the five temples in order to complete their studies. Forced to say goodbye to his friends in the capital city, Eri chose the Temple of the Tiger, after hearing about their fierce and yet soft and supple martial arts.

For eight years, he studied within the halls of the Taoist temple, and their teachings appeared to be right up his alley. The theory of ruling by serving, the energy inherent within all nature, and the prospect of effortless action aligned with his own personal outlook on life. Not to mention that he was excited by the temple's martial arts, Xing Yi Quan, and dove head-first into learning how to strike with penetrating force.

In five years, he had mastered the style. At age nineteen, he was given the choice of any weapon in the temple that he wished so that he may study the more advanced techinques, and true to form he chose the spear. Of course, the same techniques could be used for any weapon, and he chose the jian as a secondary measure of defending himself.

Three years later, he had the complete combat system under his belt, including the techniques for harnessing and controlling the energy of the wind via his chi. Many were saddened to see him leave, and considered making him a full Disciple of the Tiger, but Eri did have to return home. However, he was shipped right back out again, this time to sea.

In the three years that followed, he and a small crew sailed the seas, visiting the other countries and exposing himself to their cultures. As it usually did, his time on the oceans toughened him. Pirates besieged him, storms thrashed around him, and he was forced to use the very tactics he had learned at a young age to survive.

Survive he did, and he and his ship made it back home.

Now at age twenty-five, and the head of the Chiazuite Navy, he sets out to make his mark in the world. Hopefully, he will not fall to a band of pirates before he does so!
