My first attempt at a watery background and serious attempt at mermishness. No, that isn't Stonehenge in the background.

The merman is quite interesting. =3 I feel that the fins on his back, though, look sort of meaningless; they don't support anything. Fins on fish are supposed to help them swim strait, so if you have two on your back, you might be a bit unbalanced. D=

It is nice over all, though. =3 I think if you worked a bit more on your shading on it, it'll come out nicely; it could use some more darker tons in it. =)

Well, they are kind of meaningless actually. The story behind this has my little merman here as the angel of th element water. Since you can't have big feathery wings underwater, they turned into vestigial fins.

Thank you. I do need to add some more darker tones, I'm just a little hesitant to add more when I think the picture's coming out somewhat nice. (Afraid I'll ruin it or something.)

I like the tail as well
However the hands are a bit too small for the body
