It was on Paramount Comedy, though it might've been on UKTV Gold once before. n.n

@ Kitty - Yes, the Fish Slapping Dance is truly exquisite. <333

  • You mean the Fish slapping dance? It's so great, my friend was always talking about it, but I didn't see it until quite a bit later. Laughed so much it hurt, so good. ;D

Capsule, I keep forgetting you're in the UK. :B

I've seen The Holy Grail around 5 times...
and I've seen The Meaning of Life (which was highly disturbing to me)
I've also seen some episodes of Monty Python's Flying Circus..

I really like the Galaxy song, from The Meaning of Life. I almost have it memorized!

Whenever life gets you down, Mrs. Brown,
And things seem hard or tough,
And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft,
And you feel that you've had quite eno-o-o-o-o-ough...

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,
That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the "Milky Way".

Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.
It's a hundred thousand light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,
But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide.
We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point.
We go 'round every two hundred million years,
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whiz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.

I love Monty Python and The Holy Grail, although it has gone mainstream nowadays..every time I see something with coconuts on it, I have to say,
"Coconuts? But this is a temperate zone!"

Love the Galaxy song. And just how Eric looks while singing it, so cheesy and lovely. Ahhhh. Need to see it again soon, really.

Capsule, yeah. I was confused because for some reason I thought you were from the US, so I was surprised to hear you'd seen it on telly. ;Š

Hey, it's Anna, on my new account.

I've memorized the Galaxy song, and I've practically memorized the Philosopher's Drinking Song.

"III-mauel Cant was a real pissant who was very rarely stable. Iddeger, Iddeger, was a boosy begger who could think you under the table.."

Monty Python <3 <3

Such great humor! We have all the movies except And Now For Something Completely Different . My husband pulls the "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" line and no matter how many times he does, it still fits the situation and gets us laughing. ^_^

I'm glad to see many people hold interest in it!

British mother. British humor. These are the reasons I found Monty Python. And also the reasons it kicks ass. Ministry of silly walks was awesome.

I've become so addicted to Monty Python lately. Blame it on them releasing The Flying Circus on Dvd.

I love the Dennis Moore sketch, the spanish inquisition, and the one where all the people are being turned into scotsmen. Although honestly, I love them all. The argument always gets me giggling.

I adore Monty Python! I fell in love with it when I was like 16 and I hadn't even seen an actual episode or movie. I used to watch those stupid infomercials late night when I was supposed to be asleep so occasionally I would see an infomercial about the dvds of Flying Circus. Then when I was a Sophomore in high school my English teacher played Holy Grail and I fell in love more.

Edit: My favorite Python is Michael Palin followed very closely by Eric Idle.
