Well we all know, there are tons of stereotypes especially in school, nerd, emo, preppy, jock, goth, etc.
I find it stupid, but I guess it is sort of true sooo...
What do you think of stereotyping?
What are you stereotyped as?
Any other opinions on stereotypes.

I think stereotyping is kind of dumb, but at the same time not. lol
I'm usually stereotyped as either emo, punk, rock, or goth. Which i'm none. I have a style of my own.

Streyoptypes have been around for like fore ever. and hte truth is, they are ture. They play off what people like, so what you like puts you in a steryoptype. These steryotptypes make the status quoe, and school systems.
I believe that i am called a goth...
Sterotyupes are just natural, get used ot themm

Everyone does it, and who ever says they don't sterotype is lying :K
I try not to do it that much.
I was a known as the "Anime loving vegetarian", Yes lovely title I know (x_X)
If you revolve your whole life around classifying people then that's just a waste of time and lame. :/

Stereotypes are unnecessary in my opinion. It annoys me greatly because I know how it feels to be stereotyped.
Yesterday, actually, my brother kept calling me "emo" and constantly going on about how the music I listen to is retarted and how "emo" I am for liking it.
People at school say I look emo too. I don't get it. >>;;

What do you think of stereotyping?
-Stereotyping is a pointless label that divides us all as people that should get along with each other and hang out with everyone happily.
What are you stereotyped as?
-Ugh. Everyone knows I hate stereotypes. No one labels me. I think they secretly label me as "Punk skater."
Any other opinions on stereotypes.
-Stereotypes are the things that make some kid's high school years awkward. Poor out casted high school population...

It's immature, but flattering that people take the time to look at me and try to find an appropriate label.
I get called, emo, goth, scene, and I've been called a fake or punk at times.
I'm actually quite Nerdy.

People that don't know me often label me as a bitch :S I don't know why..
but when they get to know me they can tell that I'm clearly far away from a bitch >.>
I don't know how to label myself D:

What do you think of stereotyping?
A: I think stereotyping is honestly moronic and lazy. If you look at person, say an attractive blonde teenage girl, you might think something along the lines of 'Prep', 'Ditz', 'Cheerleader' or even 'Whore'. You do not know this person, and have never taken the time to find out what they are like but based on your personal opinion and perhaps the gossip of others, you base a totally unfounded belief on this person. Or you look at some guy wearing a dark, long-sleeved shirt in a coffee shop or something. You think, automatically, 'Goth', 'Punk' or other such stereotypes and assume he wears long sleeves either because he cuts himself (making him 'Emo') or he shoots up drugs and is trying to hide the scars. What you will never realize is he is wearing the long sleeves because he has very poor circulation and thus gets cold very easily (I, personally, have no experience in this area because I have excellent circulation and thus I am the crazy girl who walks around town in 45 degree weather wearing a t-shirt) and his shirt is dark because it is the only clean shirt he could find in his messy bedroom.
These generalizations are not fair to the persons being stereotyped.
What are you stereotyped as?
A: I am simply a 'Bookworm' (which is true), a 'Computer Geek' (also true), a 'Weirdo' (once again, true) and I am considered a 'Goth'. The last one is unfair to me. I may listen to some heavy metal rock music (and what teenager does not?) and I do wear dark clothing sometimes, but that does not make me gothic! It is, once again, an unfair generalization.
Any other opinions on stereotypes.
A: Yes. I believe that the media shares the responsiblity of all stereotyping because of how they push stereotypes down our throats every time we turn on the television. From our first days, television tells us that the attractive gal of the show is a bimbo, the athletic man is an ignorant jock, the girl with glasses is the brain and the dude with the dog is a druggie (guess what specific show I am talking about here).
It is unfair of them to do so and is also unhealthy for their viewers. To see these generalizations of character everyday like this would give many kids a bland, generic view of what is normal and expected of them.

i used to be stereotyped against
i used to shave my head, and wear steel toe capped boots everywhere
and because of this some people used to automatically think i was a neo nazi, which just isnt true
same with gabbers
they are skinheads with the combat gear and steelies etc, but they aint nazis
im sure you do get nazi gabbers, but considering a good percentage of gabbers are also black i think you'll find it hard for them to be nazi's too
damn stereotypes

I'm a prep I guess.
& Stereotypes aren't bad.
It's human nature to divide people in certain groups, like elderly people, middle-aged people, Teenagers etc.
It's not that big of a difference in high school.
If you don't like being called what they call you, change?
Or just ignore it.
Nothing else to it.

well personally i dont like Stereotypes or labels.
i mean who are we to judge someone else based on their appearance?
i usually get a lot of different stereotypes
because i usually dont just dress one way or hang out with one group of people.
but i dont think that someone should let what stereotype they are put into define who they are.
i mean i'm friends with this really "preppy" girl at my school and she's one of the smartest people i know.
yet she's also humble and down to earth.
i know that its a hard thing to get around in high school.
but i really think that you shouldn't judge someone until you know them as a person.

I'm so weird people don't know what to call me, so I'm just the different one that no one likes. The outsider. The moron. And so on and so forth. It annoys me when people try to label me. I may dress a certain way, but it doesn't mean I'm trying to join some cult or pretend life is all happy happy joy joy. I'm not a soup can, keep your labels to yourself.

nerd, asian, girl, geek, bookworm, chinese, short, teenager, 16 year old, sloth
I don't like how they say 'all stereotypes are bad'
that's what I learned in Health/Life Management class
some people like taking advantage of stereotypes
what I don't like about stereotypes is it makes it harder to really know someone and meet people without 'assuming' something about them.
AND, some people are proud of their stereotype. For example, YES. I am Asian. I am Chinese. I am a Girl. And I AM SMART. <3
But wouldn't it be better if I'm not 'labeled' but someone takes the time to know me first and then go 'hey, that's Cyndi' instead of 'that's a nerd right there'

I'd have to say that I'm stereotyped as...
Well, I don't know.
I am a new kid at my school still so I haven't found my place yet. I can't even say what other people may think of me because I hang out with so many different crowds...
Still, stereotypes destroy people. Seriously.

I hate stereotypes :D I'm labeled "gay" For not having a single guy friend and all of my friends are girls and I dyed my hair blue. But suprisingly stereotypes aren't too bad in our school. Escept for the World of Warcraft players, poor them I feel bad
