There are so many good books I want.. but I just don't have the money.

Every time I check out at Barenes & Nobles they ask if I want to get a members discount card, and I never do.. but I really ought to get one.

Good thing tho there are libraries :) Tho to be honest I like owning a good book too. So I was pretty glad finding a job and being able to jus walk in the bookstore and buy some as my hearth wanted!

I know. Barnes and Nobles is a store that teases me with all of their good books. It sucks being broke all the time. And the library system where I live is absolutely horrible. It is a disgrace to libraries everywhere.

Isn't B&N the one that charges like $25 for their book card? A lot of stores have the same cards for free with the same 10% off... I don't know if I'd be willing to pay $25 bucks for a book club card.

Yeah, the card is 25 bucks.. 10% off.
You have to buy a lot for it to be worth it.
I finally have a good paying job.. so maybe I can get some books later... after I pay for school. XD

I know what you mean. I spend a long time in book stores, trying to decide between a couple different books that look good because I can't take them all home.

I have only bought one book (EVER!) from a bookstore, and the one I bought it from was going out of business, so it was really cheap.

I am a cheap chick, so while I love Barns & Noble, I will go to the store, armed only with a pen and notebook and write down the title and authors of anything that looks good.

Then, I will go to my library, see if any are there. If there are not, I will see if there are any in our library district system (basically, any library within a 50 mile radius). If not, I'll just buy them at a discount off of the internet.

I save a lot of money that way. And the more money I save, the less money I owe my dad for paying the amount of college tuition I could not afford.

That is so funny, because I go with a tiny pad of paper and pen. I thought I was the only who did. Granted my library system is horrible, but the next city over has an amazing library system. It's funny how all I have to do is go to the next city which is a ten minute drive for me. I can get books from those libraries because my grandmother lives there, so I just use her library card. I don't even have a library card for my city libraries.

I love bookstores! It's a good place to sit down and read.

But they can be expensive so I check out local Goodwills to find books first.

I live in a crappy little town with no bookstores. ><
There's a TINY waterstones in the next town up, but it's not worth looking in. The closest decent one is about 45mins by train, and they have 1 Borders and 2 Waterstones. Hogging bastards. So mainly I buy off amazon.

But when I do go to bookstores, I usually spazz over the manga section then sit there for hours choosing what to buy. 8]

Aw... I love bookstores. >_>; We have a Books-a-Million in the area, and I'll be dropping by there today because I have a coupon to get $10 off my purchase of $50 or more. (Which means my total would be about $40.)

My local-est library is tiny. My college library is large, but geared towards Research. The next library system over is in a bad neighborhood. So unless I'm doing research (which I often do), I don't go to any of my libraries.

I love new books. If I have a choice between a new book and a used one, I'll choose a new one. I'm also relatively cheap, so I don't buy new books as often as I'd like to. :c

So I hit up Amazon.com and Half.com frequently and wait around for a good coupon at BAM.

I use to have a BAM card. Still do, but it's expired now.
It only saddens me when I'm in for a certain book and they don't have it. T^T
Sucks ass.

Yes, that is indeed a tragic situation to be in. Especially if you're like me and don't have a job. :( However, my friends and I have just gotten into the habit of returning books we've already read and exchanging them for others while they're still available to be exchanged. Sure it's a bit odd, and I feel cheap for doing it, but it's better than the manga nerds I know who stuff manga down there pants and walk out. At least I'm paying for it.

That's how I am at Borders. My mom works there so we go in there at the least once a week. Each time I go there I always find a new book that I want, but never have the money.

It's really upsetting if you go into a bookstore and find the book you're there for and then see like 10 others you want... then you rationalize that you might as well get yourself at least one of them now, save on gas you know... And you end up spending wayyy too much money.

If you can't afford a book maybe try to find it in a library. If you can't find it in a library though, Barnes and Nobles usually has chairs and/or a cafe. Find a time in which you won't be really busy and just go read for a day in the book store. :)

I sucked it up and bought a Chapters/Indigo one the other day. If you buy books frequently throughout the year, you should definitely get one.

I hate that. Except I don't have it happen in a bookstore but instead at school. My friend brings in all these interesting sounding books and it tempts me to read/get them.
