Well I've been browsing through the various OOC threads here, and I keep seeing a pattern where people seem to think that a good rp has to be a complex one. Unfortunately, I don't have the attention span, time, or mental capacity to handle a large, detailed, complex rp. I just want something simple :] I don't want to have to know some in-depth world where the creator has the blades of grass recorded, different characters have some multitude of abilities and characteristics, and I have to search my soul and being to come up with a character well-rounded enough to participate in the rp.

I'd like an rp with any of the following genres:

• Modern Fantasy (Werewolves, elementals, abilities, etc.)
  Medieval Fantasy (Dragons, knights, mages, kingdoms, etc.)
  Pokémon (As the people, not the pokémon)
  Fantasy (Sky pirates, ninjas, etc.)

I don't like any of the following genres:

• Vampire-based
  High School
  Medieval
  Media-based (Books, anime, manga, movies, etc.)

If you have any ideas, feel free to shout them out. Even if you think I wouldn't like them, say it anyway. I'm a pretty open person, and I'd like to think I'd try anything once.

Romance is a bit iffy for me. I don't mind if other characters get romantically involved, but I'm happily in a relationship irl and rp romance makes me a bit uncomfortable.

Again, I'd like this rp, whatever it turns out to be, to be simple. Simple plot, simple characters, simple settings. Simple =/= cliché or flat, though. Then, perhaps the rp will grow to be a tad more complex. Naturally the characters and plot will develop as time goes on, which will make things all the more enjoyable.

Well anyway.. let's brainstorm!

On another site I had a role play going for a bit that was based in real life 1750s colonial Louisiana, with a bit of magic thrown in for flavor. Would something like that be up your alley?
