Hey, General Discussion.
I was wondering, what are your biggest pet peeves?
One of my biggest pet peeves are spelling/grammatical errors online and off. I constantly correct my friend's spelling when we're talking in IMs just because it bothers me to no end. As for grammar, don't even get me started. T_T
My other is bad singing. I admit, i'm not a great singer. I'm good, and with lessons I would I would be a lot better, but I can't take lessons. I, however, realize this. I can control my voice, and I know my vocal range. It irritates me to no end to hear people with bad voices randomly singing without any sense of control over their voice. I've actually flipped out on someone for doing it once. I felt bad afterward, but it was worth it then.

Hello, Soul~! How are you doing today??
As for me...my biggest pet peeve of all time...ism when people don't put away their shopping carts~! I hate (and I don't use that word lightly) when people just leave them all over the place...especially when they leave it in an empty space next to them or something. I see people do it all the time, even the cart thing is right next their car but they just can't walk to steps to put it away. I hate that...
Another thing that's really annoying me right now is these people at the Library that keeping walking past me looking at what I'm doing. We may be in a public place, but does that give you the right to invade my privacy???
There are a few other things...but they escape my mind at the moment.

I get 'peeved' when I'm trying to sleep, and my cat comes to lay by my feet, which is usually fine, and it doesn't bug me, but sometimes he's very... 'Lovey' and he comes to lay by my face, then he sticks his little cat toes out in my face and makes me scoot over, half the time I just give up and sleep on the floor because he's too precious to move when he's sleepy.

Miralema; Hey. :3 I'm doing pretty well today, and yourself?
Hm, shopping carts? That never really irritated me, but it can when there are a bunch of them at once out of place. I know a lot of people get irritated by that, though. Oh, yes, the Library dwellers. I love the library, but I have an odd tendency to go where I apparently don't belong. xP I hate it when i'm in the adults section because I have the reading level of a college student, and the adults look at me like i'm lost then if I don't have someone with me, they try to look over my shoulder and make sure of me. Yet when I go into the Kids section for books that get assigned to us ( I wish they didn't, but what can I do?) all the small children look at my like an intruder. D:
Sidhe;
Oh, yeah. My puppy does that. It irritates me, but just like your cat he's too precious for me to move. Plus, whenever I wake him up he makes a little weak groaning noise, and I feel bad. x3

Soul; I'm not too bad today~!
It's used to irritate me less but one day I say this guy leave a cart in a Handicap space and ever since then I just get really angry about it.
Also, I'm like you on proper spelling/grammar. All of my friends make fun of me because even when I'm texting, I use proper punctuation and what-not. On the subject of texting, something else that really irritates me is when people use "Lol" too often. My best friend uses it ALL THE TIME and it just bugs me so much. She says it even when nothing is funny. Like I'll ask her how she is and she'll reply, "good lol how r u?" I'll say I'm good and then again she says, "lol thats good." I mean...what's so funny about that? Gah~! That annoys so much that I try not to even use it anymore.

Miralema; Well, that's good. ^^
o_o Wow. In a handicap space? That's just rude.
Yeah, I don't have a cellphone because I can't afford it right now, but whenever i'm doing something like that I use proper grammar. I can't imagine what my bills will look like when I actually can text.
Oh, yeah, the "lol"-ing thing annoys me too. I used to do it, until one day I was looking for avatars/icons and found one that said," Lol- The overused word." Then it shows two stick figures having the conversation," My sister died today."
"Sorry! lol!" After that, I pretty much stopped saying it at all. It lost it's effect for me.

Ooh... I have a couple of really extreme pet peeves...
I hate the sound of cards shuffling, the feel of really soft fleece (I always imagine the feeling of the same fleece being in my mouth... *shudders*) and the sound of people chewing things!
They all bug me to death, sometimes to the point of an anxiety attack!!!

i couldn't agree more with you on the grammar thing.
my worst peeve is the misuse of apostrophes.
it makes me grind my teeth something chronic. D:
other than that, i dislike it when people pronounce the escape as "ecscape".
and when people ask me who i'm dressed up as when i go out in sweet lolita. -____-;;

I think my biggest pet peeve is how my place is set at the dinner table. Plate must be perfectly centered on my mat, knife and form must be in that order on the right side of the plate. The napkin must be folded in half and on the left side of the plate while my glass is set just above it. I don't care about proper etiquette or how fancy pants people do it, it just drives me mad. v_v
But other than that, I'm not a big stickler on proper grammar and such. I don't like it when people type like monkeys, sure, but if I can understand it's not so bad. But what I do hate is when people use the excuse: "well I'm on vacation/it's the internet, so I don't need proper _____." I want to whack them in the shin with a brick.

I really hate it when people smack and pop their gum. The sound of chewing, and other mouth noises, other than talking and such in general get on my nerves, but when they have gum and they start popping it, I just want to slap them. I usually end up wanting to break something when I'm having to constantly hear it.
Totally horrible Grammar is another one. Mainly in RPs though. My grammar might not be perfect, but at least I try, unlike others. And I really HATE when people use text talk. Honestly, are they really that lazy that they can't type out all they want to say?

I have tons! But most of them just depend on the mood I currently am in.
One of the is when people who try to keep talking to me in class. I don't know why they think I can hear them or why I'd want to. See, I have always had ear problems so sometimes I can't really hear that well. And I definitely can't hear you if you're whispering/muttering. lol
Another is.. how my grandma is such a neat freak. For instance, a few minutes ago the books were just slightly crooked and spread out on our little table by the door, and she just had to stack them all up perfectly.
La la la.. I have a lot concerning her, actually. How she whistles, reads my syllabus to me after I have already read them in class, talks during a movie/show, worries constantly, calls me grumpy in the morning (does she not realize that it just pisses me off more?), touches my shoulder/head when she walks by... Yeah, this could go on awhile.
I also hate any beeping noises. They just annoy the hell out of me. I despise my alarm clock so much.
I think I'll just stop here.

oooooohhhh
i dont think anyone wants to get me started ahaha

i also dont really like when people ask millions of questions in the matter of two seconds.
like you say something and their like 'really?! where, when and why' i have a few friends who constantly do that and its just so irritating.(im not sure if i spelled that right...hmm....)

When my mom talks about me to her friends. I don't care if it's good, don't care if it's bad. It just drives me insane, because she usually exaggerates. I need my iPod to block her out, like right now.
And when people are acting goofy. Not just silly but downright stupid.

I hate texting and having to talk to people on the phone =u=
Also, I hate repetitive+forgetful people who tell me what happened to them in 6th grade about 600 times. I'm not forgetful, I paid attention, why do I have to hear this again?? D:
I also hate copycats. There's this annoying girl a couple of years younger than me who used to copy my posting style, steal my ideas, and then try to get away with it by using her "cuteness" to try and charm me. WTF I can't be played like that; I'm the one that does the charming shit. xD
I have other pet peeves. But for some stupid reason I don't remember any of them. @ [email protected]

And when chicks come out of the bathroom at school and go straight to class without washing their hands!! D: Or sometimes to the mirror to do their makeup. I mean, seriously, how hard can it be to WASH YOUR HANDS??? D:
And then they go and touch their faces, their lunches, borrow pencils, etc.
And you're stuck with their nasty germs. ;___;

This is probably going to sound very bad, but my biggest pet peeve is stupidity. I don't mean the occasional honest mistake. I'm talking about people who are either too lazy or in too much of a hurry to use their heads. It bothers me a lot in other drivers. Seriously, does it really take that much brain power to figure out that turning right from the far left lane isn't really the best idea? But the absolute worst is people who act stupid. What possible point could that make? Is it really better for the world to think you're a blathering idiot? Grr! Wow, it even bothers me thinking about it!

I spent a long time learning English, can't they do the same? :o

You know, I can never really remember my peeves until I encounter them again. I'm pretty good at putting them out of my head. Although, I do suppose one of them is my obsessive arrangement of certain things--like the floor towels. They must be perfectly flat and in certain spots or else I flip out. My brother likes to come in and mess them up right after I arrange them. ~_~

I've noticed that proper grammer has been mentioned a couple of times. That is one of my pet peeves as well. It really bugs me when people use 'good' and 'well' incorrectly and/or when 'I' and 'me' is used incorrectly. I usually tend to correct people's errors and they just stare at me and say "Why is a physics major correcting my English?" or something along those lines.
Another pet peeve I have is when people walk really slow, and I mean realllllllyyy slow. It annoys me even more when there is a group of like a billion people walking across the sidewalk width-wise and they won't move if you're trying to get by in a hurry. So in order to bypass them, you have to either walk on the dirt or on the street. I just think that's very inconsiderate of them.

Hello everyone! So pet peeves? I like this topic. I have one big pet peeve. Have you ever been getting ready to go somewhere and you are going with someone else and they are driving? My pet peeve is when people tell you that they will be somewhere at a specific time and then they end up being an hour or so late. It drives me up the wall I gotta tell ya. That's one of my big pet peeves.

That's how I am-I have quite a few but can't remember them until I run up against them again. Off the top of my head, though, I can think of two right now.
I hate it when people talk crap about our military or disrespect our flag. I'll defend their right to do so, but that doesn't mean I like it-at all.
Pregnant woman who act like they're handicapped or disabled or something. You're pregnant-not handicapped. Get over yourself and stop whining. Most of your complaints are just you trying to get attention. And yes, I've had four babies and was active duty army for the first two. You ain't pulling crap over on my eyes, so don't try. It's hard, it's rough, but you don't deserve any special treatment. And oh, those "stork" parking places I'm seeing more of? Ha, if I can't find a place to suit me, I'll park there. It's not something you can get a ticket for, it's merely a courtesy, or actually a catering to the whims of some pansy pregnant women who screamed about how hard it is for them. WALK a few more steps-it'll actually do you good if you're pregnant. If you're so bad off that you indeed have a valid medical complaint because of your pregnancy, then your doctor can give you the means to get a handicapped sticker for the amount of time you may need it. So can you tell this is really one of my peeves or what !
Oh, and I agree with the one about buggies being left in the parking lot. Are you so lazy you can't walk a few steps to put it away. I don't want your cart rolling into my car. And because of you, I can't get that nice little parking spot because there's a buggy sitting in the middle of it. And the ones who leave it in the handicap spot? How more thoughtless can you be people? I mean, whoever parks there is HANDICAPPED-it's probably hard enough for them to get in and out, now they have to try to move a buggy out of their way, too?!
Ok. have to step away now! Smiling and trying to calm down as my blood is beginning to boil thinking about just these three!

People who lie. Little lies not the big ones. Like "did you get the mail yesterday?" Lie: "yes i did" Truth: "nope i didn't feel like it." What is the point in lying about something so pointless? If you're gonna lie at least have the common courtesy to make it a good one. Not something like that. I hate when people lie about something small and them admit to it later. Then you have to be forced to ask them, "Was there really a goal in lying about something so unbelievably stupid?" I don't think so.
Another one is grammar like a few others in this thread. It isn't that hard to type words properly and with the right punctuation is it? I don't think it's a big request. Simply pay attention to what you type. The errors are underlined in red for the love of god. That's all I have for now. I will be back later with more though. I can assure you of that.

Honestly, I agree on about the grammar and spelling. I can't stand it when my real life friends start talking to me in chat, and I've never talked to them online before, but suddenly, they are using all sorts of improper grammar that makes me want to run and hide. And it's bad because I don't want to be mean to them, but I wonder when I thought they were very intelligent in person. Then again, I view such things as a bit of a reflection on the person's intelligence. I mean, if it's someone's second language, I can understand, but for someone born and raised American, it grates at my nerves to read it from them. Especially when it's not that hard to write out full words when you learn how to type. >>
But probably my biggest pet peeves is having to repeat myself a great deal of times, and then being accused of not saying it clearly. Mainly through my parents. Then again, I've noticed pet peeves from them as well, like I absolutely hate being mocked or mimicked. It makes me want to throw a fit or something. Dx And I hate it when I'm trying to joke around, and someone takes me serious. >< Especially when I'm joking around with friends who know it's a joke and they jump in to the conversation.
>> Simply put, lots of pet peeves here.
