How old is too old for Menewsha?
I don't mean like an age limit just how old do you have to be before you're too old for avatar sites? Someone said there was a 46 year old man on Gaia (could be a lying age or an role playing age, still kind of creepy) and I thought, that's a little too old for an avatar site, although sites like super poke pets and pet society have older people on it :O
Maybe you can never be too old for these sites ? ^^

It really doesn't bother me as far as age. I'm 21 and, though I find myself more on Gaia Online since this site is new for me, the more mature users seem to find eachother and keep to the guilds and such. Therefore, there really is something for everyone.

I think this should belong in the Communities Discussions instead of General Discussions ^^;
I don't think one could ever be too old for an avatar site. There are plenty of people of all ages and from all over the place on avatar sites, I think there's also a few long-time users on Mene that are well over 40. I don't think there's an age limit for sites like these at all. :)

Yeah, I don't know.
I came across a girl that was 30 something on Gaia
I don't think you can be too old, just as long as you're not flirting with the young-uns
Though at 40+ you should be spending more time with your family and not strangers on a forum.
So my verdict is- You're never too old for an avatar site as long as it doesn't rule your life and is just something to have fun with in your free time.
You could probably keep in better touch with your child (if the person has one) if you both go on the same or similar forum sites.
You can keep up with the newest slang, know what's considered cool to kids and teenagers. ect.

I am a 57 yearold grandmother, and I am on Gaia, Menewsha and Zantarni. I have even played Maplestory, I know of a 70 year old on Gaia. Go check out the Geezers guild there theres about 20 of us over 50.
Why would it be weird to play here? Since when does having fun roleplaying have to be exculsively something for young people? We have imaginations too you know. And I like writing My friends know my age and don;t have a problem with it. I don't hide it. My grandson thinks I'm cool.

I used to go on Habbo a lot, and there was a woman who was 55. I don't think you're ever too old for things like Menewsha. It's basically just socializing.

Since this is more appropriate for the Community Discussions forum, I'm going to move it on over there. :)
Personally, I don't think anyone's "too old" for these sites. It's just a fun little game with forums. Hell, I'm 18 and I still sit on the floor and play with the legos in my dentist's waiting room. You're never "too old" to do something that you find fun.
I really don't understand why you think it's so weird? Aren't adults allowed to have fun too? :P

It's all about mind-set I think. I'm 24, but most people think I'm in high school. I'm in college, and most people there assume I'm a freshman. I've even been hit on by a few guys who admitted later that they wondered if I was really even 18, let alone 24...
It's not just my looks, though. I act more like a mature teenager than anything else.
But as I was saying, it's about mind-set, not actual age. Some people manage to mature without losing the positive qualities of youth. Those people tend to be fun to talk to on sites like these, and aren't creepy or anything.

That's it entirely. The mind-set that keeps you young without putting you into either creepy or unable-to-socialize-with-younger-people categories.
As long as your mind is young and there is enthusiasm in you, there's no such thing as "too old".
In my humble opinion, anyway.

No-one is ever too old, but those who think that older people playing online is "creepy" are quite possibly too young! In mental attitude at least

Saying someone is too old for Menewsha is like saying people get too old for fun and social interaction, both of which Menewsha is. Nobody is ever too old for fun! Thus, nobody is too old for Menewsha.

It doesn't bother me really. I think it's a good think there are such different ages socializing. It gives you a chance to talk to people of all ages on these sites, when in real life, you wouldn't talk to them, just the people your own age. Personally I find it better talking to older people.

I don't usually talk to many people my own age... even in college, most of the people I talk to are three or five years older than I am, and most of the people I've gotten along with at various jobs have been ten or fifteen years older than I am...

Im 51 and I love Menewsha. I am also a member on Gaia, playlist.com, Solia, and Facebook and twitter. You are never too old to have fun or enjoy meeting other people. I think you would be surprized that a lot of older folks are on a lot of different websites.

That quote sums up my opinion pretty well.
If you ask me you're only too old for a site like this when YOU decide you are. If that's when you're 20, fine; if that's when you're 30, then so be it...if that's never, then I love you. In fact, I have to say it makes me very happy to see people older than me - even significantly older than me on here.
I'm only 20 - a common age on Menewsha - and have been criticized on other avatar sites for "wasting my time," which just makes me sad. It's my damn free time, I can spend it however the hell I want. When I was on a certain other site, I remember seeing people not much older than I am now flamed for being "too old" to be there...it sickened me. There's no age limit on fun.
Fact is, no matter what someone's age they'll usually be on a site like this for basically the same reasons - to chat, to make friends, to have fun. Not everyone over 25 on an avatar site is going to be a child predator! If you can't see that...then your mindset is probably a little too young for our community. ;)

I've always kind of worried whether or not I'm the oldest person, but I guess I have nothing to worry about.
I'm always sort of nervous when it comes to my age; some people say I act much younger, some say older. I just say that I'm 35, I may be an adult, but I'm too young to be old. I'm having too much fun!

Another question is, does gender make a difference? You're creeped out about a 46 year old guy, but would you have been creeped out about a 46 year old woman?
I'm just curious since a lot of people tend to have very different perceptions towards the two.

Personally I don't think gender should matter much, Cami...I'd be interested to see how they dressed their avvie though and whether or not they would openly admit if they were a guy or not. Of course one would never know... :XP

No, it wouldn't matter to me the gender of an older person being creepy. It's the same thing that would make a younger person creepy: trying to get 'close' to someone very quickly, especially if that 'closeness' was or seemed to be romantic/sexual in nature. But people who only want to be friends can be creepy too if they take that too far too fast.

I'm 23 and I am on several avatar sites, though only active on here.
Personally I think there is a double standard.
I think it's creepy for a 40 year old man,
yet kinda motherly for a 40 year old woman.
At least that is how I have seen people react anyway.
