I like hero type anime with super powers of sorts.

Some of my favorites include sailor moon, dbz, fruits basket, Inuyasha, and yu yu hakusho.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Perhaps Baccano? It's not quite hero type, but it does have some powers. It's really good, and if you don't like it... it's short! Besides, the whole thing takes place during the early 1930s, when everyone is super amazingly classy.

Not so sure how you are on space misadventures. If you like it, then check out Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star.

And for a classic I did not see mentioned, look out for Escaflowne. Awesome stuff right there.

Well, I just finished watching a girly anime called Petite Princess Yucie.
Not everyone has powers here, but this world runs on magic and the sorts. It was really cute and pretty good, despite the name.

Ohhhh, a girly anime o.o I most certainly will check that one out.

Theres a little dog Menchi (who looks like a cat O.o) and he is excel's emergency food supply haha its kinda sad but its so funny, cos she is insane and completely oblivious and everytime she goes to pat him he basically craps himself and faints!!!!!

PreTear is somewhat similar to Sailor Moon, in a Hero Girl kinda way, while keeping a completely new and interesting story. One of the few Anime I bought and own (Only 1 season though)
