In anticipation of the first volume's release on the 25th of this month (it would have been more appropriate if it were on the 11th) I thought I should start a thread. XD

So, how many of you've seen Darker Than Black? Honestly, I've only got to watch 7-8 episodes from what I remember since Funimation started pulling the episodes after licensing it. I really liked what I watched so I knew I was going to end up buying once it was released on DVD. ^^

Speaking of which, Funi posted the first two episodes of the English dub on http://www.completethecontract.com (password: BK201). So far, I'm pretty content with it. :3

i love Darker then Black. Hei is awesome. it has something that about humans and contractors even though they are all human. i think its an interesting series and i think that i will start reading the manga soon since i love the anime so much i keep watching it online.

I remember watching them when they first came out; I think I got about as far as you did Digital Kakashi before it got licensed. I really enjoyed it though.

I watched the anime and i think it's really good, nice story. Hei is very cool. It really kept my attention from start to end.

Darker than Black is awesome. I love how cool Hei is as BK201. The super powers given to contractors are also delivered in an atypical way, which makes it refreshing. Too bad the ending sucked, but I did enjoy the rest of the show very much.

I've only gotten a few episodes in so far (darned school), but now I have time to get caught up!

I really liked what I've seen so far, I was a little confused at first but then it sort of clicked a little bit.

Darker Then Black is a fantastic anime, that they're making it into a manga makes me jump up and down in excitement ^_^. It's so hard sometimes to find an action/fantasy anime that still has a plot that's captivating, it doesn't go on for 50-300 episodes, and the characters are so well developed it makes your jaw drop.

I am looking forward to being able to continue this series. I watched a few episodes before it became licensed and pulled from the various streaming sites I was visiting. I might ending waiting for a boxset and buying it all at once but this will be one of the anime I buy. The beginning set up a few different side stories that I hope are explored.

Besides, who doesn't like talking cats?

Anyone else excited about season two? It's gonna start airing on the 8th! \o/

I am more than excited about season 2 of DTB. I've been waiting for this since they announced it back in April/May. the only thing i'd heard was it would start up in Oct. though. didn't know it'd be the 8th, which is today! hehe

Just saw the first episode of the new season and I liked it despite [spoiler]April being killed off. That made me pretty sad since I liked her. :c[/spoiler]

i believe there are 25 episodes to the first season. every one is great and really leads up to a great ending, imo.

This is a great series! I was hooked after episode one and finished the series in a week! That's pretty crazy considering I have classes, papers to write, and work (35 hours a week)! Means I really loved the series. Hei is awesome! I also love Yin! I actually mentioned in another post today that I was going to cosplay as Yin for the 2010 Sakura Con.

I tried to read the manga, but I couldn't really get into it.
I'm going to try watching the anime when I get the chance, and when I get completely caught up with Hetalia Axis Powers.
I really do like the idea for all of it, so I'm going to try and stick with it.

I loved Darker Than Black. I love just about everything Bones produces, though. XDDD;;

I'm also really loving season 2 as well! I just hate having to wait a week between episodes... >.<;;; But I love it~

I just looked it up, and they have the second season in Japanese on Youtube. I think I found the first episode in japanese w/o sub on veoh.

Agreed! When I finish the latest episode, I always wish that I could immediately watch the next one, and then the next week just drags on forever.

I agree. XD The wait between episodes is unbearable sometimes. I haven't been this crazy over an anime in a long time.

Oh yeah, for those who want to watch or finish season one: Funimation uploaded all of the episodes subbed including the OVA (and they also have the first 4 dubbed episodes too).

I really love that Funi is doing that now. It's so much easier to preview things before I buy it this way. Do we know if they've licensed season 2 yet?

They're making one now! ^^ It's currently airing in Japan and there are only 4 (or is it 5 now that it's Thursday?) episodes out so far. It's called Darker Than Black: Ryūsei no Gemini and it takes place two years after the events in the first season. It's pretty good so far~

I'm happy they're doing this as well but I have half of the DVDs at home since the dub isn't all that bad (I really like November 11's voice). I don't think they licensed the second season yet but maybe once its done airing they'll license it hopefully.

I heard that Yen Press is gonna release the manga (unfortunately, its the shoujo DtB manga and not the one that takes place after season 1). :c

ah my friend actually recommended this anime like 2 days ago.....I do plan to watch it soon, she showed me the opening and it looked good! ^^
