Here in the Philippines, it's on November 2.
November 1 is All Saints Day but people keep celebrating it as if it were All Souls Day. xD
You see people rushing off to the cemeteries to light candles and stuff pre November and by the time it's already the actual Day of the Dead, no one's around...barely.

I always thought it spanned the two days...I know I'm not catholic so I'm not 100% sure (nor am I a Mexican) I think that's what the Spanish teacher told me way back in uh '99?
