As the title says, I'd like to know what people's favorite yaoi and/or yuri pairing, and why do you like it so much?

I guess I can start off. My current yaoi obsession is Lucci x Paulie/Paulie x Paulie from One Piece (they're in the Water 7 arc :yes: ). And the reason I love the pairing is just because I love a pairing where there is tension between the two characters. I am a firm believer of the opposites attract theory. I mean, yes there should be some things they have in common...you can't really have a basis for a relationship if there are absolutely no common grounds.

I'ma fan of the classics. Zoycite and Kunzite from Sailor Moon and my personal addiction is Iason and Rikki( Ai No Kusabi).
Zoy x Kun because theres just something about them that draws me, maybe its the way they stay devoted to each other even if they are bad guys.

The Iason Rikki this is because I have this obsession with long haired anime guys... and blondes. Plus the whole do you hate me or do you really care for me tension really makes for a good plotline.

and why? that was the show i first discovered yaoi on.
[trowa and quatre. you don't see it? then you're blind.] and i love heero and duo's interaction with each other and the pairing has some of the very, very best fanfiction out there. :]

I'm familiar with the Gundam Wing pairings you mentions...The Sailor Moon one I was aware of...just I never really looked into it.

I'm not familiar with the Iason/Rikki pairing though. Never watched that series.

Alright, I really don't have any canon yaoi/yuri parings anyway.
And like most girls I'm fond of slash. OriginShipping (Wallace/Steven) specifically.
I'm not really sure why, but part of it is naturally finding a pairing with my favorite character.... and I know I'm not the only person that does that, because I have a franky/ferard obsessed friend, and I've had to sit through revising most of her stories, but that's getting off topic. The other half is probably just that they're two men acting really... cute, with each other. Like the Special and the theory behind the name for instance. From what I've heard the 'Origin' in 'OriginShipping' is referring to the Cave of Origin. In Ruby/Sapphire apparently Groudon/Kyogre are in the cave and you go into the cave to capture/defeat it. Wallace can't go inside the cave because he's a denizen of Sootopolis or what-not (which is BS because he was in the cave in Emerald) and Steven was there to quote "comfort" end quote Wallace.

And that was a really long, unnecessary reason. Sorry to say but you just wasted about three minutes of your life reading that.

Its ok, you search images of Ai No Kusabi and its the two main characters. I should have added that sense it is a novel/ anime based entirely on yaoi that its kinda hard to find if you don't download it off the net. It is the original yaoi masterpiece.

Well,I have many but one of my all time favorite's got to be Keith/Matsuka from Toward the Terra (Or Terra E... if you want (yes, dots included))
It's just so deliciously sad when you think about it and makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.Not to mention it's hot to bits.
The anime (2007 remake) had lots of scenes that just shouted gay (don't know about the manga,thought) And somehow the pairing seems just so right.
I can't explain it in words.One should experience it for themselves...

I honestly don't like a lot of official yaoi-characters because of how they portray the uke. But that goes for most official yaoi/yuri.

I prefer however my yaoi and yuri for my original characters in roleplays I do. ^^

@Fox: eh...I agree with you on one level about official yaoi pairings...I only have a small number of official yaoi pairings I actually like in anime and manga. The stories tend to be a bit ridiculous and overly campy at times. Though there are a few that I've found that are actually pretty good...and there's a series or two that is pretty campy and silly in some parts, but I still like it.

There's one series that I stumbled uppon recently called Vassalord...I love the two main characters...but the story is confusing as hell in most parts. It could be that I was reading a fan translated version of the manga...the whole first chapter just.......yeah.....it made absolutely no sense. all I was able to get out of it was the establisment of what their relationship is like. I think it could make a really good series if it were less confusing. maybe I'll try and see if it's been printed in the US and buy the first volume to see if it makes any sense. I absolutely love the two main characters...they make me giggle with how their relationship is...but yeah...anyways LOL. Wow...long rant xD

Like most girls, I've got at least a few big yaoi-ships. My biggest ones are:

Hunny x Mori from Host Club - BUT THERE'S A CATCH! I can't stand how most people slate Mori as the "seme" and Hunny as the "uke" based on their size. Anyone who reads the manga I *HOPE* would agree with me that Hunny is way too manipulating to allow that... Or is it just me on here? ;_;

Puzzleshipping ( Yami no Yuugii x Yuugi) from YuGiOh! - Oh, come on. He wished on the puzzle to give him a friend. It did. Anyone who had someone so close to them twenty-four hours a day would either have to hate or love the other person... Don't you think?

Ritsuka x Soubi from Loveless - This one gets complicated. I'm more of a manga fan for this series by FAR, and yet, so many people seem to be into it for the fuzzier anime. Oh well...

Akabane x Ginji from GetBackers - Technically, this is more of a guilt pleasure than a ship, but... xD

I have a few Yuri ships, too.

Nami x Vivi from One Piece - Even deathly ill, Nami still couldn't help but put the princess' needs above her own. She tried to protect Vivi over all the others for the short time she was with the Strawhat crew. Not to mention the affectionate looks.

Mitsuru x Fuuka from Persona 3 - Mitsuru, bossy and all knowing, yet inwardly shy. Fuuka, strong willed, and yet socially awkward. If you've played the game, I'm confident you'll see where I'm coming from with this one.

I'm not all that fond of Loveless...I read the first two volumes when I was at a Barnes and Nobel, and I was sitting there scratching my head while reading with a 'wtf?' expression on my face xD I didn't necessarily hate it...it just wasn't something I'd probably pick up and read in the near future

Zakuro and Mint from Tokyo Mew Mew. They're not an actual couple during the series, just an implied one. But I think it's cute how Mint has a crush on Zakuro practically from the beginning. I just think they're great together.

For yaoi, I'm going to have to go with... Fai x Kurogane from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle.
They fit together, and CLAMP totally made them canon. I just wish they would've had more... interaction, but not extreme stuff. Just more serious talk that didn't revolve around Sakura and Syaoran, as much as I love them.

For yuri, I'm going to go with Readman x Nancy from Read or Die. They fit together as well, and I think the way they interact through the series makes them amazing together, especially at the end of the series. Maybe that's just me.

I like Kunzite/Zoicite from Sailor Moon. .... I'm sorry, I can't picture characters who are not originally paired up being with each other O_O. For instance, I had a friend once who liked Hotohori/Chichiri pairings from Fushigi Yugi, even though there was not any romantic involvement at all.

A cute yuri couple is Carol and Shiori from Chirality by Satoshi Urushihara. =3

Ah, Vassalord; I've read it- but it's back home in Virginia. Honestly you probably want to see if you can get the actual english versions; I think there's 3 volumes out now and it makes perfect sense to me... So you may just have a bad copy. Vassalord is more of a shounen-ai than a yaoi in my opinion. There's a lot of hinting toward boy-love or honestly in my opinion it's "guy love" the guys are so scruffy in it. But I really do love the series; too bad the chars are so manly that I can't cosplay from it. None the less it's a really awesome series thus far. X3

Lady_Megami: I... Love love love that pairing. Kunzite and Zoicite... ;_; so sad. But yeah I love them.

As for the non-canon pairings, they have to make sense for me... Like SteinxSpirit, it can't be like some of the weird pairings like JirayaxNaruto.

@Fox: No. It was the manga, but I got it off of MangaFox.com...and yeah....could be whoever translated it didn't do that good a job. The whole beginging when they were dealing with that little girl who's a vampire had me so confused. Most of everything else that I read wasn't that confusing, though there were a couple of parts here and there that confused me a little bit. I generally got what was going on...as I said, there were just a couple of spots that didn't make sense to me.

I love the two main characters. *giggles* gotta love Charley and Johnny. What I enjoyed about the series was their interactions. they amused the hell out of me *giggles*

I agree with you about the non canon pairings having to make sense...but the thing is, pairings will make sense to some people, but don't make sense to others. So it's a matter of perception I guess. I know there are some pairings I like that don't make sense to other people, but there are ones other people like that don't make sense to me. As I said...it's all a matter of perception.

My first yaoi paring that I can think off the top of my head is EdgeworthxWright, never even played the game before, I just like them together for some REALLY odd reason. XD
The Riddler and Two-face are pretty awesome too. :)

I think the only yuri couple that I support at the moment is Harley and Ivy. I don't mind yuri but most yuri writers make yuri well dirty and disgusting.. :/

@Demon: :/ I hear you there. It's so hard to find good yuri fics. It's kind of disappointing actually. I started rping yuri with a friend, and that's how I came to like it :yes:

There are a couple Yuri couples that are fine though, but yeah good Yuri is hard to find. :/ ( i'm sort of guessing because most of it is written by pervy men who think that women would do dirty things to each other. >__> *shivers* )
