I don't even watch dubs anymore because I've found that I like subs a lot better.
Also some dubs cut scenes out or put things out of context so I don't want to risk that, I want to know EVERYTHING.

Except for when they're absolutely horrible, I don't generally have a problem with dubs. I try to appreciate subs and dubs as separate entities because they're done for two different audiences.

Subtitles gets you closer to the original, but sometimes there are things in them that don't make much sense out of context of the culture. It can lead to some serious moral values dissonance at times. Dub companies sometimes make changes that better fit the mindset of the culture they're intended for.

To me it doesn't really matter. It all depends upon which one I watch first. I watched Ouran High School Host Club subbed, but then an episode was missing so then i was forced to watch the dubbed. When I watched it, it felt all wrong. Then when I watch something dubbed then subbed it's the same way. Once I get use to a voice for a character, it's hard to hear it with another one.

Though in some cases the voices are almost identical. Like for instance Death Note. Both of Light's voice actors sound very much the same. The english actor tried extra hard to do so and it paid off. This is job dedication at it's best. I wish more voice actors and dubbing copanies would do the same. Taking the extra effort and making an ok dub job to one that is so fantastic and far above all of the rest.

Dubs I can't stand include everything done by 4Kids except what I already mentioned, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors, Detective Conan (aka: Case Closed), ect.

I found Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ouran Host Club, and Bleach to be decent.

All Ghibli movie dubs that I've seen have been excellent, though I haven't watched all of them yet.

The only anime that I found I couldn't watch in either language was DNAngel. Both of Risa's voices are annoying enough to turn me away from the anime after my first run-through.

Poke'mon and Yu-gi-oh are a hell of alot better in Japanese. Poke'mon dubbed the first few seasons are better than the ones they have now. Damn them!!! You can find the japanese episodes of Poke'mon on Youtube and probably on ebay. When Yu-gi-oh first came out and it was actually good, my ex-best friend bought the DVDs in japanese and we use to watch the episodes way head of the ones they put on tv. I want to see the real first season of Yu-gi-oh.

I actually could handle Sailor Moon in dub form until I got to the 3rd and 4th season. DAMN their voices were annoying. I actually did like Cardcaptors until I started watching Cardcaptor Sakura. Way better. Oh, and you can find it on veoh.com.

Ouran High School Host Club just sucked in the dubbed if you have seen the subbed first.

Only like D.N.Angel in subbed and in manga form.

I couldn't stand watching Sailor Moon in English after her second voice actress came in. She tried way too hard to sound like the first voice actress. Saying it was terrible is a huge understatement that woman should be fired from the voice acting business.

Death Note was probably the only dub that I found to be good. Yeah Light's english voice actor did a very good job though Ryuuk still sounded a bit odd.

it is the same in what they did to Pokemon. It was actually some what good before, but now they brought those new people in, it SUCKS!!

From what I noticed in many anime, I mean like the stuff I watch on tv and then the stuff on dvds (or vcds that was popular in the past), the dubbed version pretty much came out only so they can serve up the series to a younger audience or those who are not familiar with japanese culture. I mean I remember an uncle of mine going, why arey ou watching that thing in another language? xD.

But if ya ask me, i prefer sub because I can read what they're saying and I don't have to turn up the volume of the tv set so much. I usually watch at night so i don't wanna disturb everyone or for them to know I'm still awake watching anime LOL.

Dub versions depend on what anime it is. If it's a serious anime, dubs are so boring! I can take a dubbed version as long as it's some form of comedy. The actors can like inject their own humor to their voice and the situation even if it's dubbed.
