What is Jellyfish Day?
Jellyfish Day: n February 14, observed in honor of bitter souls as a day for the exchange of general snarky remarks and other tokens of bitterness.
How does this concern me?
It doesn't, really. But you're welcome to come and join us in the celebration.
Do I have to be a bitter soul?
Nope. I'm not. I just get a kick out of celebrating jellyfish seeing as I don't have a boyfriend and currently don't want one either.
So what's the point?
Well, originally while I just got kicks out of celebrating a day dedicated to Jellyfish, in the past several years that I thought well if I'm single on Valentine's Day and looking for love, do I really want to be reminded that I am single? (No offense to single awareness threads). I figured celebrating Jellyfish instead of being single was much more fun. Not that being single isn't fun. xD
Where did this come from?
If I recall, it started on an oekaki board which my best friend was a member of. Several of her friends were also members, so it spread through their small school. My friend told me about it, and well I've been celebrating it since.
You promised Chocolate!
*hands out chocolate* <3 While we support Jellyfish, it doesn't mean we don't love chocolate.
So come on in. I don't sting! Just a poor lonely soul. xD
