Could someone please explain to me what Purkle is?

Also, Happy Multiple Holidays and General Enjoyment of Said Holidays!

President's day is this Monday too, so it's kind of like a trifecta of holidays all together....!

Morning Purkles! As usual, I'm a day late for the event. I kept waiting on an email for some reason saying the event had started, but just thought I'd pop in today..and here it is! :)

We have basically no snow here, just maybe a light dusting. The weather channel says its supposed to be snowing everyday starting Sunday though. I HATE snow :(

Well, there's no snow here... just more cold, nasty rain (I'm too far south for snow. *ponders* Although earlier this year, it actually DID snow just a few towns away! ). However, if the rumors are to be believed, it *is* supposed to be snowing in the Florida panhandle. If I didn't have so many things going on today, tonight and tomorrow, I would have contemplated a drive up (except for all the people there flipping out because they don't know how to drive in rain, nevermind snow!)

Morning Ladies. If anyone is interested, California is sunny and 65 degrees right now. This weekend it looks to be in the 70s and clear. Perfect for laying out in the sun. Hooray!

It's cold and nasty and raining here in "sunny" Florida again... and I've lost my mind -- I'm actually considering jumping a flight up to the northeast to throw the kids in the snow! :gonk:

You'll meet me in Philly, huh Queen? I could use the help babysitting! ;) I really must have lost my mind... the lack of sun in Florida... the persistent cold rain... *shrugs* I dunno, but I am seriously considering it - if I can find a cheap enough flight (that doesn't have me and the boys sitting in an airport on layover for hours on end)

How much is on the ground now, Jess?

Snow. *shudders* We keep getting little bits of it here, but oddly enough the clouds go north and south of our town, so we haven't had much. Enough to make walking to my internship a pain since no one seems to know how to shovel the sidewalks. At least it is not an ice storm. that would be horrible to walk afterwards. The snow and consequential ice is bad enough as it is.

I am also very grateful that Monday is President's day. Kids hyped up on sugar the day after Valentine's Day is every teacher's worst nightmare.

HAHAHA. I'll bet the day after a candy day is murder on teachers.

Candy! And if I was a teacher around this time of year and Easter, I'd just lose it!

Yes, we shall meet up, but I think I am suppose to go further on to MA and hook up with Jessi. Let me see what a flight would cost.

*is the teacher... but is also the holder of the candy* ... it usually works out fairly well around here, fortunately... although we do have our days!

Seriously? I may be in Philly in the next week or two... just to throw my Florida born-n' raised kids into a pile of snow! (ok, to visit some people too while we're there... ;) ) It's about a 5 hour drive (in the snow) from Boston to Philly...

This thread Blaze. I couldn't find it earlier.

Pile of snow.....it's more like a mountain of snow at least here it is. Approximately 26 or so inches in 24 hours. It was horrible. We are expecting more this weekend but not so intense.

Dunno where the Purkles got to, Roo... I'm sure at least a couple of them will resurface soon enough though...

Snow. snow. snow... I'm going up north to the snow!

You don't want to be up here with this snow. It's just too much. We are running out of places to put it.

LOL. Too late... already bought the plane tickets! :XD

Actually I know exactly what that looks and feels like; I grew up a lot closer to Jessi and the snows are generally more severe there than they are in Philly. Although the last time I was in snow like that, I was literally IN the middle of it, and helped to shovel my whole city block (not just my car) out before the snowplows could get there... we were snowed in for something like a week!

My kids have never seen snow. They won't know what to do with it! It ought to be utterly hilarious (for me)!

Last time it snowed like this here was in 93 and everything was shut down for days. I also helped shovel out people on my block. I didn't have a car at the time and since I didn't have to go to work, I had nothing better to do and it felt good to help others.

I have to say we're getting off pretty easy so far compared to those in Rue's part of the country. Ellie's family has made fun of her the last few winters since she moved to Boston...needless to say, the tables have turned.

Of course, THIS is the year I finally have a driveway and plowguys...

Blaze, where up here DID you used to live?
