Seeing as it's Valentine's Day, I think it would be nice to talk about our significant other's and ours stories. You know, how did you meet? When did you meet? How long have you been together? When did you get married, engaged, whatever?
I myself am in a wonderful relationship. My boy is a person I have been crushing on since I was 11. He was 17, and he, of course, didn't share any of the feelings I had. He taught me a lot about everything, though. He taught me how to roleplay and about how to make friends, and video games and the internet and everything. It was one of those weird feelings you just have when you're little: the person is like your older brother, but at the same time, you crush on them. You tell all the little girls at school about him. That is how it was when I first met my boy.
As I grew older, we slowly became better and better friends. He had a girlfriend, but I still crushed on him. Ah, how sad. When he was twenty or so, he asked her to marry him, and it made me so sad. It did, but I congratulated him anyway. He didn't like me at all then, and I knew it. So I just grinned and bore it (I never thought I'd have him then anyway).
But she hurt him later, and a lot. This also tore me up. It made me so sad to see him hurt like he was. But he slowly got better, and he even started noticing me a bit more. He'd call me pretty, and say that he thought I should have been older, etc. I was being slow, of course, and I didn't get it, but I did know that I wished even more that I could be with him.
One day, he did finally ask me if I liked him, and I blushed and said "maybe". He said "It's okay, I like you, too". I was still really young (and am, I suppose), but I considered him my boyfriend. We didn't do much, our friendship continued on, but with much more holding and a few kisses.
...We'll be celebrating our second anniversary in eleven days. I am so glad it worked out between us, and every day with him is absolutely magical.
So, let's hear your story!
