neon glanced over at her and shook her head. "no thanks, i prefer not to eat things that were once alive. you can go on ahead though." she smiled weakly and patted another bug as it reached her kneck, and kept going.

"Wasn't everything once alive though? Even plants?" countered San. She had always been confused with the concept of vegetarianism. Giving the spider another good look up and down, she decided that it would be safe to eat. "Thank you," she told the bug before crunching down on it's head. At least then it wouldn't feel any more pain as she ate the rest of it.

neon looked back at san and shivered seeing her crunch down on it. "yeah, well anything that was once alive with a heartbeat. plants are good. tasty even." she shrugged and heard her stomache grumble, hearing her talk about food. "wonderful." she sighed.

Hearing Neon's stomach grumble, San asked, "Couldn't you just eat something just this once? Living things are tasty too," she informed her elven friend while taking another spider and chomping down.

neon frowned at the spiders and shook her head. "no thanks. i can wait until we reach some different plants or something." she said, swallowing hard and hoping they would be past the tall grass soon. out of total curiousity, she picked a peice of the grass as she walked and popped it into her mouth. bitter. all she could taste was its bitterness. when plants were bitter, it usually meant they were poisonous, or just very dirty. neon wasnt about to take any chances so she spit it out and dealt with her stomache by herself.

"Mmm," San teased as she rubbed her belly. "What did you eat?" she asked Neon upon seeing her spit. Hopefully none of the plants. Most here would probably be dangerous in some way or another and they shouldn't take any chances.

neon grimaced at san. "oh. haha. very funny." she said sarcasticly, rolling her eyes. her stomache was calming down, but she would still need to get something to eat within the next day or so, or she would die of starvation. she continued throught the grass until she spotted a tree. she stopped and pointed at the weak, evil looking thing. "do you think the bark is edible?" she asked aloud, though not meaning to.

"Haha, I know, it is," San countered light-heartedly. Following Neon, she frowned upon seeing the tree. Walking past the elf, she started to circle around it's base, sniffing at the dark bark and vomit-green leaves. "Hmmm," she murmured before placing one foot on the trunk of the tree, bracing herself as she started to pull at the bark. Almost immediately, a branch of the tree came swooping down and striked her across the face. Turning her slowly so she faced the tree once more, San's eyes boring wholes into the tree. "DIE!!" she cried out, lunging at her new plant foe.

neon watched aith the smae curiousity as san did and pulled back when she heard a rustling of leaves. she was jsut about to reach out to san when a branch struck the side of her face. seeing san's reaction to this made her freeze. her face went from tan to pink to red to purple until finally she broke out laughing and fell backwards from laughing so hard.

Ignoring Neon's laughter, San dodged the branches as the lashed out at her. Leaping from branch from branch, the tree kept missing and ended up breaking off it's own branches on accident. Laughing out deviously, she soon felt her heart drop as her feet slipped off the branch of a tree as she tried to land on it.
"AAHH!" she cried, slamming into the ground with such great force that she ended up a foot down in the ground. "Ouchies," she whimpered pitifully as the remaining tree branches swung back and forth as if dancing a victory dance.

neon wiped some tears away from the corner of her eyes and smiled at san. "im sorry to say this...but that tree just kicked your ass." she laughed quietly and looked at the tree. she stood up and walked slowly to its base without having a branch brought against her. "i thik you have to be nice to it for it to be nice to you." she thought aloud as the thoughts came to her. she wanted to test her theory, but she didnt know what the outcome would be. she shoved the wary thoughts away and petted the trunk of the tree akwardly. the tree began to move its branches and swaved back and forth, but didnt hurt her like it did with san. neon perked up and smiled back at san. "i guess its an elf thing, huh?" she grinned.
