This was the first yaoi series I got into. At first I though boys love was icky, but got sucked in after the first kiss.
The plots are a little sketchy, but fun. I love Bikky and the sub-stories involving him. ^^
Anyone here care to have a discussion about this great manga series?

Ah this story was kinda awesome. It was the first manga I read that wasn't a doujinshi that was yaoi. xD
But as much as I loved the pairing, I think I really enjoyed the sub-stories with Bikky instead.

I never really read the manga but I watched the anime movie.
One of the first things I saw involving yaoi.
Should I check out the manga?

FAKE was the series that forever corrupted me to yaoi. JJ was my personal favorite character, but I also loved all the Bikky side stories.

Faaaaaake. <3 I loved this manga. I still do. And the bit of anime that was made for this was also love. I adored Dee and Ryo; I thought they were incredibly cute together.
And volume 7 was my first real introduction to yaoi, as opposed to simple shonen-ai. And man did they corrupt me forever. xD I've been a shameless fangirl ever since.
I remember bringing volume 7 home in the car... I was under the age for buying it, supposedly, but I'd gotten it anyway. And my parents wanted to know what I'd gotten at Border's. o.o I was all "Uuuh... it's a story about cops solving crime. >.>" Thank goodness they never looked to see for themselves. Or if they did, they never mentioned it.

haha I know how you feel. My parents don't know anything about my yaoi/shonen ai obsession. ^^;;; I suppose I'll never tell them either. >>

Buckwheat, that's hilarious! I'm so very glad that you can't tell from the cover what's involved, not that there's any shame in it. I had to specially order it from Chapters. I love the first and last mangas best. I love that Ryo came around about things, and all the jokes. THis really is at its core a great comedy, don't you think?
That and it's super hot. Prrrrrr...

FAKE was the second BL manga I got into (of course, back then it was shounen-ai). I never really liked the art - it was okay, but not amazing. I loved the random plots.
Has anyone seen any of the new re-release of it? I've got the first chapter scanlated. The art is *fantastic*.

FAKE was the first yaoi manga I read. I love it. :D The characters backgrounds are interesting, especially Ryo's (to me). JJ's like the only one that doesn't have any big drama. :P
Bikky and Carol did the nasty. B: They make a cute pair. I was really thrown off when he grew up and I was all "Nooo make him a little kid without so much testerone again DDD:"

Funny thing, FAKE was also my first acutal Yoai series. Since it was my first series I was hooked and I love it! I have all 7 volumes, the DVD, and I'm looking forward to some merch.
I love the setting in New York, I'm in love with the artwork, and the characters are so great to relate to, because two of my family members are cops -- and I think about them every time I read -FAKE-. Speaking of reading...I think I might read it again tonight. :D
I'd love to talk more!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel in love with the art! I thought it looked almost real.....(Alichino artwork is AMAZING?!) But my favorite characters would have to be Dee, Bikky, and JJ.

FAKE was the second yaoi manga I got into...the first one being Gravitation...but FAKE is better <3 I loved the fact that it took place in New York...AND there's one other fact that makes me laugh my head off xDDD the fact that their precinct is the EXACT same one as the precinct that's in the original Law & Order series xD 27th precinct I think...but yeah...that had me laughing and I started jokingly thinking of crossover ideas for it xDDD
Bikky...oh dear god don't even get me started on that little cock block...there were some times I wanted to brutalize him. JJ too...though JJ has grown on me.

FAKE is my favorite Yaoi series. I like how the story seems realistic instead of overboard like Gravitation and other Yaoi series. I didn't know there was an anime. I only read the manga, but I absolutely loved it! The sex scene was pretty nice too. XD
