it's interesting that they are re-making it so that it is like the manga but i think the other one will always be my favorite just because that is the one i saw first

Wow, I was so excited when I went to Justdubs.com (which btw, is a fantastic place to watch your fav anime shows, they have almost every anime show on there, and its free, sub or dubbed) and saw that there was another fma on there...I had been hearing about it from my friend for a year that they were making a new series. I might have to get used to it, but I think its quite good so far...but I miss Al's old voice. And in all honesty I agree, the old one is still going to be my favorite!

I've been watching FMA Brotherhood in Japanese with subbing, and there up to the 45 episode.

It's REALLY good. Much better then the first season in my opinion. It explains a lot more, better storyline and it doesn't have any filler. :x I love it. ♥
It's completely different, it's actually following the manga which is nice.
I also like the change in animation they made too.

FMA Brotherhood makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside since it follows the manga. D: I did like the first anime, it was an interesting re-telling, but the manga was SO much better. All the characters had so much more depth to them and the story was way better. <3 CGI Envy was pretty amazing to look at. The Sloth in the manga made way more sense than Ed's mother being Sloth. Seriously. Plus there's Lin. 'nuff said. Lin is win. <3 He's the most awesome Greed ever. Obviously the homunculi are supposed to represent their respective sin name and I think they do it better in Brotherhood than in the first one. D: Plus it gives Winry a purpose for her existance! And Hawkeye. <3 I love this series. <3

I'm loving Brotherhood, but I haven't heard the dub. I watch it with subtitles and they kept the Japanese voices of Ed and Al the same as from the first series, which is very nice.

~Funny I just finished rewatching Fullmetal Alchemist and the movie with my mother (because she wanted to see it and we have netflix ^_^) and then I saw an avertisement for Fullmetal Alcehmist: Brotherhood on Adult Swim. I was surprise. I didn't know there was another version of the storyline. So I went and researched it on Anime News Network to find out the story line because it looked similar to the first one. That's when I notice it said it followed the manga story line closer (which I've started to read after seeing FMA the first time, only got as far as vol 6 ) Anyway I have it recorded on my DVR and can't wait til I have the time to sit down and watch it. I'm not sure if I'm gonna like Al's voice or not cuz I do like his voice in the first one, but time will tell. I didn't like the dub of Host club until I watch a couple episodes and I got use to it.

As a side note, I despise Al's voice because...he sounds like he's shooting up helium. Seriously.

If your following the Japanese version(or the Manga) like I am, as opposed to the current english version (Nothing against it just don't have a TV) You've really gotten to know most of the characters.

The Manga and Brother hood have really turned some of the characters on their heads for me. And while I still absolutely LOVE Izumi Curtis, I find myself loving more characters I didn't originally love so much. And loveing some that weren't mentioned in the original Anime. (Olivier Mira Armstrong :D )

Like Bradley, Kimbley and Hawkeye.

But President Bradley. I have NO idea why I love him so much. The Fight scenes with him... they just drive me bonkers I have no idea what side I'm rooting for anymore LOL.

I mean I'm still Gunning for the brothers in the end... but sometimes I just want Bradley to win fights.

Anyway what do you guys have to say on this matter?

Any other Bradley lovers out there?

Also has anyone noticed that there are so many strong female characters in this. I love that about this anime. I also love the way Edward has been sneakily getting taller and more adult looking as the show progresses :D

I love Brother hood it's so good and the music is Great! I really like it when they have Winery seeing her in diffrent clothes for once. I mostly watch it online with english sub's on it I tired to look at it on adult swim. I laugh my ass off at how girly sounding Al's voice was now. to bad oringel voic actor for Al's voice sounds so diffrent now.

Well when he did Al's voice before he was only like 12 or 13...
and now he's older.. That's what Puberty does LOL
I really liked that they tried to keep a lot of the original VA's. LOL though I doubt many would turn down voicing such awesome Characters.
But I think Al's new VA does pretty well.

I was very disappointed by Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It's like a "cliff notes" version of the regular Fullmetal Alchemist. Vic was super excited about it, but he is super excited about anything he's in because he's his own biggest fan, lol.

in the beginning of both series, they are very similar with only the subtlest of changes in who did what, really *shrugs*

and i have been reading the manga as it comes out in english volumes, and it has been very true to it so far... but Nyx is right, in that it seems kind of 'cliffnotes' like... but that's how it happens in the manga too... but things are going to get very different soon enough!!! :squee:
