Mai Hime was an excellent series. I read both the manga and the anime. I preferred the anime for the fact that it was more toned down. For a comparison of what I mean, the manga seemed rated R at times when the anime stayed at a PG-13 level.

The one thing that disappointed me was that Haruka wasn't a HiME in the anime, yet she was in the manga. Also, that funky triangle with Yuuichi in the manga was creepy. I won't discuss that any further to prevent excess manga-spoilers.

I'm just waiting for the dvds to be released in a complete boxset before picking it up. ^_^

Anyway, I know what you mean about the 'rated R' comment. I've only read the first two volumes of manga but it's so... different. I like Haruka as a HiME so that not being in the anime was a little sad but she was still one of my favorite characters. In the manga everything seems more hostile and such. Both versions are fine by me but as of now I prefer the anime.

I have seen a few episodes but never really had the time to continue the series so I think I will have to re watch the episodes I left off on so I can remember where I was at.
