I'm going to have to vote against this particular feature for mennies. Personally I've been on more than a few sites with "Premium memberships" and I can't say I like them one bit. The word premium tends to go to the heads of the "Premium" members and they always seem to think they're better than the normal members. Not that everyone would be this way but from personal experience it leads to that. Not to mention the fact that from an onlookers point of view a Premium member would appear to be better than a regular member. This is something I just can't agree with because I don't want to be belittled as a regular member. I can't even afford enough mennies for a CI so there's no way I would ever be able to get a Premium membership and it would be so frustrating not being able to get the experience that Premium's get.

I'd have to agree with Sky on this particular issue.

-I roleplay mainly to ... erm... relieve myself...? I mean, sure, I am in it for the make-outs, but should I do find a group RP that I really want to join (and I haven't...), then I could have fun with other people.

-I chose Mene to do my Role-playing because sooner or later, new faces will show up, and they might offer things that I am interested in.

-I am fine with the PG-13 restriction, but there isn't much 'leg room' for my Romance genre preferences. So an 18+ forum would work fine for me, gold gain or not.

-Maybe a kind of tag that lets you know what tightly specific genre we're dealing with outside of the specific forums. There's High Fantasy, Low Fantasy, General Vampire/Gothic, Romance, Comedy (Like that will show up), Realistic, Modern, Mythological, and whatever else I didn't mention.

-Hm... That's a tough one. I'd say a 'replacement' avatar system for whatever RP you're doing.

-Back when I was playing on *cough* that other avatar site, there were special themes that allowed you to change what your post 'balloon' looked like. For instance, two of those that I would have used were a brown parchment and an 'elegant' gold frame. However, that site became a 'casino'. Let's leave it at that.

People want what others have, it's the way the world works. If they dont have equal opportunities, they complain. But why can't they become rp ers and earn it themselves? Why should they get to be lazy, when we work for it? I like your idea, but your right. People would bitch about it.

It would be great if we had an 18+ thread, as in the roleplaying forum, I notice a LOT of immaturity in some of the roleplays.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't be one of those people to use it, as I detest group roleplays(The a-- am I allowed to swear?-- on Gaia traumatized me for life); I only do one-on-ones.

I roleplay because I love the stories you can make out of them. Especially ones filled with drama and blood and the main heroine dying and romance. :heart:
I didn't choose Mene for this, I've never roleplayed with anyone on here. ^_^;;

Bringing up Facebook, it would be really cool if you could IM people while they're online so you could talk about your RPs. Sending PMs seems like too much, and it's not as quick and direct as an IM ^_^

The only problem with this is that it wouldn't be right to those under 18... at least not if it went in the 18+ forum.

But currently nothing 18+ can be done, which isn't right for those who are 18+. The goal isn't equality, but to let us to do what we're allowed to do.

Just no. It wouldn't be fair to the people under 18, plus we don't want the roleplay threads filling up with people who don't even want to roleplay or just can't roleplay, they just want the points.

Fun fact: My best drawings come from roleplay scenes.

I mainly am too shy to do any public role plays, but I role play with my friends here. I do this simply because we love to write and it's so much fun to write stories together :) :3 It makes life happy. But we also love avatar sites, and Menewsha is the preferred place since it is so homely and not commercial and WAY TOO BIG like gaia, so we can earn gold by posting stories together.

I personally really just love being able to write together with my friends and I can't think of any features that would make that any better :P It's already awesome :D

I am not really interested in a PG-13 section, though... And my brain is not being very creative as to how we could go about using Mennies in the Role Play section... D: Sorry I couldn't be of more help...

Why do you roleplay? Why do you choose Menewsha for this?

i roleplay for the same reason i dress up on halloween-to pretend,to live out a life that isn't mine,but mostly to escape the stress of everyday life.it's helpfull.plus it's fun to be part of a story,just to contribute and see where it takes you.i choose menewsha for this because mene was the first rp site i ever came to,nearly everyone is friendly,and there are so many choices,so many people you can be,so many stories you can live out.and everyone is generally pretty accepting and understanding,so you can ask for advice and stuff.i really like it here,it just feels like i finally found somewhere i belong. :heart:

It is a suggestion forum. I'm not demanding it : D But, for me it would be really cool to be able to talk to my Mene friends with an IM that's not as personal as handing out my yahoo account.

Especially if your RP partner has a problem or suggestion with something you wrote. They'd have to PM you to fix it, then you would have to PM and say ok, then after you fix it you'd have to PM back again saying that you changed it. Even worse if there's a larger, more complex problem.

And I've run into my fair share of those >_<

I personally think that an 18+ part would be an interesting Idea even though you wouldn't earn gold. Then roleplays could take their 18+ parts over there, and the pg-13 on the gold earning parts of the site.

Going to second Amber in regard to the liking of the idea of an 18+ roleplaying forum. Even if gold weren't earned there, having a place for further darker and/or more romantic development for our characters would be lovely.

Okay, well I know since one of my relatives made an IM feature for another website and it took him a long time to get right, so I'm just saying.

I roleplay on neopets and gaia. Both don't have many people on during the day or late at night. Neopets topics for roleplays are always the same: gifteds, vampires, high school, and boarding schools. Also the literacy level for most of their roleplays are advance, and you get a lot of spam in their roleplays.
This site has people that don't spam us every five seconds.
The 18+ section should be like some shows and movies on youtube. The site knows when someone younger than 18 has clicked on something that is rated r and doesn't allow the person to view it.

Nah, I really enjoy character design and development. It's my career focus. So it's great for me to really get into there and dig around inside the core of a character like that.

I was DRAGGED to Menew and ended up just liking it. Gaia is too busy, Solia too dead... (And Gaia is full of illiterate angsty bastids)

I would love MOAR FONTZ. My immediate thought is a caligraphy script style.

I really can't think of anything that I would pay for in relation to forum RPing. Maybe like a $1 per pack font pack. 5-10 fonts a pack, new one each month? (I personally wouldn't buy very many if any of them ._. )

I am still hoping to get a comment from staff about moderation for the forum re: gold earning. I just don't see how it's possible to go into an 18+ separate category and have no one monitor it, and therefore I don't understand why we can't have gold if it's a moderator issue...because something like that will need monitors.

I have got not many comments, since I have not RPed in Mene and overall for ages, but I would like to suggest that if 18+ rp board was added, it would be available only for members who actually ARE 18+. As in, like we right now can't access Administrator areas, underaged members couldn't go there.
Otherwise, I think it couldn't bring any good popularity to Mene.

I think an 18+ section would be great. I haven't actually gotten to the point where I write any explicit content on this website, but I thing it would be a great opportunity for my fellow RPers.

I roleplay because I enjoy finding new creative outlets, and I've been a fanfiction writer for a year or two now, so roleplaying is a way to flex my writing muscles while having a good time with others and making new friends. ^^ I roleplay on Menewsha because it's much simpler than Gaia, and almost everyone's literate, and because I love this site for everything, not just the roleplay forums. So why would I go anywhere else?

An 18+ section would be really awesome, but I really think that 15/16+ would be a better age limit.

A bunch of people had said this earlier- I'd really like to be able to delete a post of your own- and not just on the roleplay forum, either. It would make things a lot simpler.

I fail to see how this would accomplish anything as it would still fall below the "R" age. The terms of service would not effectively change any of the content which could be posted of the age was even 16.
