I've been very busy these last two days delivering prizes in relation to the Grand Shipwreck Ball mini-event!

Those who participated in Lise's writing contest, Aimee's art contest, or Cessy and Jeryck's raffle were given an:

Iridescent Jelly Squid

...for each contest/event they entered. Some extras were given to a few of the Charities and game threads on Menewsha. Each Jelly Squid was specially caught by Lance from Headworks during the event. He says they're not native to these waters and it was extremely unlikely they'd ever be seen again. He gave me less than 300 of these Iridescent Jelly Squids to hand out and all of the remaining jelly squids were given to the Quest Raffle account for future Quest Raffles.

Lance also had made up a special version of the ship hat he sells, just to give out to those who were particularly active in the Grand Shipwreck Ball event. Those users who qualified were given two:

Les Voiles d'Or

He said he made less than 500 of these hats and has no intention of making any more of them. There were a few more hats made than there were users who qualified to earn them, so again I sent the remaining hats to the Quest Raffle.

If you think you qualified for either the jelly squid or ship hat and didn't get a trade notice, you might like to check your trades anyway. Some people report not getting a trade notice. ^^;;

Totally felt like you guys were doing the best:
-Rewarding activity during an event (specifically an event that did not have event rares obtainable with tangible currency - in this way, our levels of activity, both in posting and participating in the contests, were the currency we paid to receive these treasures).
-Not forgetting the charities; you guys always have an excellent way of keeping these limited items well-circulated by donating to charitable organizations, considering that has a trickle-down effect that benefits buyers/sellers/questers, as well as the economy and community as a whole.

I love you for releasing them like this, and wouldn't mind having frequent events of this caliber (in other words, no need to have fancy event forum layouts designed, no need to release a set of event items, etc., etc.) in the future. :) Really! Honest!

...Also, were the Captain's Hooch items released just at random? Or were they given to users for specific reasons as well?

I really love that you always organize so many contests so that we can always choose at least one from, but even more contests/games wouldn't hurt ;) It is usually the games and such that make me post in the forums during events, but that's just me because I am anti-social like that xD

Oh man I feel so lucky right now! I saw Inso wearing the hat and was jealous, only to find out I get one too!

I have no idea. I didn't know Trade Notifications existed until this message. I just check after someone mentions they send me something. If I hadn't seen this, I never would have thought to go check my trades. ...and I was sitting here wondering why people weren't telling me these things. ^_^"

I think there are too many events.
Didn't we have one last month?
And we have one next month too.

I'm generally quite hyped up during events, but when there are so many it takes the special-ness of it away.

I didn't really understand the point of this event, and there weren't very many "hooks" - things to get me interested (ie avatar contests, purpose, story line, etc). I entered in the staff competitions, but that was about it.

Thanks for the squid hat though. :]

I'm disappointed I didn't enter the raffle. I really want an iridescent squid hat, as they look so much cooler with the transparency.

I did post a couple of times, and I have been a fairly active menewshan for the time I've been here. *begs for a squidhat in here...sorry no better way to put it :XP*

While I am here, I will give my two cents. I know you guys are trying your hardest to make sure these SNGs are obtainable for anyone, I really prefer the other methods of item distribution.

The only reason I'm whining though is I would like to one day be able to say I collected them all, and with the limits posed on the items (300 for one and 500 for the other), as well as it being kinda a spur of the moment feeling giveaway I guess I don't feel I have a chance to collect them.

I probably would of been more motivated to participate more given if there were at least some sort of special event items in the special event store or EIs, even if it were the couple of SNG items made (and that was it...).

I didn't participate much in the event so i can't leave much feedback. I just wasn't very motivated to do so, nothing really drew me in. But i hear a lot of other people had a good time. :)

To be honest, I really thought I was going to be burned out by this event, especially since we just had Feast of Fools, but it was surprisingly entertaining the whole time!

The only thing I was really missing was the usual event FAQ. I don't know if I was blind or if there wasn't one, but I had a hard time figuring out how long the event was supposed to last (within the event forum, I'm sure I saw it somewhere else but couldn't remember where).

I really enjoyed this event, I think the new transparent squid looks amazing and kind of hard to pixel, with the colours changing and all that <3 (I wouldn't really know, of course...)
As others have said, I wouldn't mind having an event like this again. <3

I do agree with Keyori--I had a hard time remembering when the event ended.
I know I saw it mentioned somewhere, but then I couldn't find it again.

If we have another commons mini-event, can we have the dates of the event in the announcement?
I don't think we need a faq for something like this, just a quick mention in the original announcement. :yes:

But you should know the incentive prior to the event.
That would get even more people participating.

I think they want more people participating in all events and mini-events. They can't release new items all the time, so I think this is their way of getting everyone to participate regardless of whether or not there are free items.
