I love all of Lemony Snickets books! I was very sad with how the series of unfortunate events ended.

I love the Series of Unfortunate Events!
I thought the ending was brilliant, personally. It was happy enough for it to be an ending, but sad enough to be a fitting ending for a series of unfortunate events. It obviously wasn't going to be a happy-happy-everything-is-solved kind of ending.
Lemony Snicket is also really witty in his own way ^^

By the way, Shiki, I love your sig ^^ Just had to say it

I was really sad for Count Olaf as well! Is he Beatrice's father then? And by Beatrice I mean Kit's daughter. I don't think Kit ever actually says who the father of the baby is...
I was really miserable when Friday and all the other islanders went off in the boat as well. Well, I didn't really care about the others but I liked Friday!

Well, the first beatrice was of course Violets father. And I read 'The Beatrice Letters' where you find out the Beatrice and lemony were in love but then the daily punctilo or whatever said Lemony was dead and she after like a year married bertrund ((violets father)) then Lemony turned up and she sent him a 200 page book about why she couldn't marry him, and the ring back.

Dewey I think was the father of Kits baby.

So has anyone else read 'The unauthorized autobiography of lemony snicket'?

I read it. it confused me the first time i read it but i think i understood it to a point after the second time. i didn't quite understand when they were referring to eachother as letters, i figured out who like 3 of the ppl then gave up knowing who the others were.

I started reading the books when I was like....8 or 9. I haven't finished them yet. Too many books to read for other things.

Oh! Love this series~ I'd almost forgotten about Lemony Snicket's brilliance.

I actually met him (Daniel Handler, that is) a few years back when I was around nine... he came to my city, said the usual "Lemony Snicket couldn't make it, so I am here instead as his representative", did a brief little... presentation (if you could call it that. The man is insane/hilarious/brilliant.), and then a book signing that went on for a few hours. I came up to him with my copy of "The Penultimate Peril" and hardly said anything, I was so shy. He asked me, "How's your life?" I said, "Fine." To that he replied, "Don't worry, it'll get worse."

Basically, I love him. XD

I read the Autobiography and was so pleased with myself when I discovered the use of the Sebald Code in book 12. When they first go into the hotel and Frank informs them of their duties, he gives them a coded message in his great long speech when the bell rings, but none of them knew the Sebald Code >_<
I reread the whole series after that searching for any other codes, but I haven't found any yet

I love these books! ^_^
I love the way they are written and how he talks to the reader. I really enjoyed reading them and was always hungering for more after each book. I'm a little sad with how it ended, but I guess it makes sense. (I haven't read the books in a while.)
I'm really curious to read the autobiography now! =)

The autobiography is a good read, if a little confusing. It's very useful though. It comes with an alternate cover so as not to look suspicious while you're reading it ^^

I was okay with the series. The plot line was intriguing, but there are just so many orphan stories out there. After a few books I started to really like the characters, though, and it was starting to get a lot more personal as opposed to face value knowledge. BUT what really got me off the books was the few paragraph rants Snicket would get into. After a while I would skip pages and the introduction just because the tangents weren't interesting. I wanted to hear the story, not this.

I know, When I finished them, I was sad. I didn't think I could read another series without Violet Clause and Sunny in it!! D:< And I haven't been able to finish one since them. :\
