4 seasons encase the earth as it turns round and round. This happen, some good and some bad. People say that the earth will warm up till the point where the icebergs unfreeze. But that is ahead of any thought. A normal winter, a normal town, a normal school, what's so different about this? Well here is the thing, this school is starting to prepare for the Winter Ball Dance at the school's gym. The big night is here, some get all dressed up and a few are there because they were made to go there. However before this night there were some warning that the town might have a snow storm.

Everything is going okay until the lighting seems to dim down, no one can see out of the windows, something is blocking them. Some kids try to open the doors, however every door in the school opens out and something is blocking them. Unable to open the door, or the windows, the kids put on the TV to see what is wrong. Well that snow storm that the reporters told them about, well it hit and destroyed. So many places where snowed in, it is advised to either stay in if your trapped, or if you are outside to get out of this town as soon as you can.

So here starts our adventure, what will these kids do, we are not going to follow all the kids, only a select few, 6 to be exact. What will they do, how will they deal with this. They have food and shelter, but will that be enough to survive this snow storm?

Ember Rose Hart

Ember groaned as she watched the dancers on the floor go about their way. She watched the King and Queen, a slight hate for them caused her to growl softly. Looking around she sighed, finally standing up and walking to the doors to the rest of the school. She felt like going outside, getting some air. Walking down the halls, it seemed slightly darker then normal, however Ember just shook it off. Finally reaching the front door, she stared at the windows. “What the...?” confused at why the windows were blocked, she though it might have just been a prank. Pushing the door forward with all her might, it was closed shut. As if someone had locked the door and bordered it up. “What...” she grunted, pushing more and soon opening it just a bit to let the snow fall on down her and to the floor. Gasping she quickly shut the door, causing her to stumble over the snow and falling into the wall next to the door. Groaning she fell to the floor, things seemed to spin, then go black.

* Friday *

Running down the halls, Ember finally made it to the outside world. Dressing in her jeans and a jacket, she pulled the jacket close to her body and stepped out into the snow. Smiling she ran off to the park where she met some of her older friends, here they spent the school day talking, playing and doing a few drugs. This was a fun time for her, just hanging with her friends, not at school. She wanted to spend as much time with them as she could, before being shipped off to a new foster home. However this, no know will know about. She doesn't want anyone to know about it, though wishing that one day someone would save her from it.

Coughing softly she looked at her watch, sighing she hugged her friends and put out the smoke. “I'll see you guys tomorrow. Love you all!” she shouted as she ran all the way back to school, opening the doors wide open as the kids got ready to go to their last period classes. Smiling Ember made her way through the crowd and too her locker. Unlocking the lock she soon pulled out her backpack and her books.

“Hey Ember!” suddenly her locker closed and a group of three guys where around her. She looked at the guys and glared slightly before calming down and standing straight. “What do you want?” The leader walked towards her and lifted her chin with his hand. “You know what we want, you got it?” rolling her eyes she slapped his hand away and tossed him a book. “Yeah the book is false, have fun, now move.” She spoke, brushing the guys off and slipping through them. She could hear them talking about the drug being the real stuff, god she hated being the messenger for her drug friends, but she really didn't care anymore. But this part she hated.

Yelping softly as she was grabbed out of the school and pinned to the wall outside. On her tiptoes she looked at who had pinned her, it was that leader. “What?!” he snickered and looked her over. “Been thinking of something you could do for me, didn't want to ask you with the boys around now did it.” his hand was at her throat, pulling her higher in the air. Gagging quietly, Ember stared at the guy. “Let me go, I warn you!” her words took a lot to get out but she did, struggling she heard him laughing and then he pressed himself against her. Oh he thought that just because she weighted nothing and was a short girl, that she couldn't fight, think again. At a perfect moment she lifted her knee faster then her could detect. Dropping to the ground she saw him bent over in pain. She couldn't help the next thing. She lifted his head and punching his face down, raising her arm for another one when...

her arm stopped, being held back by another force, another person. “Miss Hart, my office now!” shivering from the voice, Ember turned around to see the principle. Nodding she turned to follow the man, but not before spitting at the stupid boy. Walking into the office she sat down on the chair and waited for her detention. “Miss Hart, this is new for you, fighting.. what happened?” sighing softly she shook her head and the man nodded, “alright then, don't talk, but you have detention for 3 weeks now. Or I can cut it down to 1 week and you help out tomorrow with the Winter Ball Dance?” Ember's eyes shot open, “That stupid dance thing, it's for popular kids, I wouldn't fit in, even as a helper, my hair my outfit my style.. wont work. But I don't want 3 weeks, so yeah, alright I'll help out.” sighing she agreed and was soon let go. She went to her last period class, the rest of the day was normal.

* Morning before the dance *

Ember groaned, waking up early to help out with the dance. She rolled out of bed and did her thing. Bath, clothes, hair, makeup, mirror. Standing in front of the mirror for a final check, she looked at her hair, making it stay in place with the spray. Staring at her outfit she looked at the cupcake shirt, her black skinnies, and her fluffy boots [leda's boots but black]. Sighing she looked out the window, reaching to her chair, she grabbed her familiar jacket that she wore almost every day no matter how it looked.

Looking around she smiled and went to her window, opening it up and climbing out. Running to her school she soon busted through the doors and went into the gym. During her time there, someone started talking about the weather forecast that was predicted for tonight. She heard that they said it would snow and such. Sighing she went on with her work, until they were called over after they finished. Everyone left to get ready, Ember had to go to the dance to help out she she decided to wear a little dress to it anyway.

After her shower at home she looked at her dressed, not that many options; her summery, or her other dress... picking the other one she slipped it on and some black leggings. Putting the boots from before back on, she soon grabbed a older leather jacket she hand and headed back out, soon arriving at the school.

* Back to the present *

Groaning, Ember rubbed the back of her head, slowly standing up she stared at the front door of the school. “Must be dreaming.” Getting up, she made it back to the dance, looking around, wondering if anyone saw what she did. Her hand still on the back of her head, she walked over to the side lines and sat down in one of the chairs.

Jake looked around "this is the most boring thing ever" he mumbled, he was never really a fan of dances, he hated them, epicaly the fact he had to dress up in something other then his leather jacket, he walked over to the side lines and slumped down into one of the chairs "bloody dance"

Ember sighed softly and finally took her head down from her head. Glad that there was only a small once of blood on it, she reached over and snatched a napkin. Whiping her hand she looked at the people dance and soon watched as Jake walked over to a chair and sat down. She stared at him wondering where his girlfriend was. Looking around she noticed that the dance was close to being near the middle.

Shivering softly, rubbing her dress, brushing the frozen ice off she pulled her legs up onto the chair and leaned back. “I thought you would be with your girlfriend, having a fun time like you seem to always be.” smirking softly she turned her head to Jake and then after giving him a small smile she turned her head back to the ceiling and closed her eyes.

Jake heard her and chuckled "thats a fine thing to say, i just don't know how to feel with her" when he looked and saw who it wa he blushed "it... oh... i never knew you was there... im sorry" he said and looked at everyone "i couldn't find her... thats why im not with her"

Opening her eyes, Ember looked over to Jake and caught a little of him blushing. She titled her head, confused as to why he would blush, but then she just shook it off and smiled. “Ah I see, so your confused about your feelings for her and you can't find her right now.” smirking softly she giggled softly. “She might be coming soon.. I don't even see about half of the kids that should be here, making a later entrance I guess.” shrugging she reached over and grabbed two cups of the punch. Reaching over she held one out to Jake.

Jake listened to her and smiled "ok then, i suppose your right" he took the punch and drank it quickly "i don't get why its called punch... it doesn't exacly punch you does it?" he joke and chuckled, he also blushed more

Ember's eyes widened as she saw him blushing more, raising an eyebrow she drank her punch and then smiled softly. “I don't know.. maybe at the start, they called it punch cause of the flavor, giving you a punch of flavors. I'm not sure.” she laughed softly and then turned her body to face Jake. “Okay question.. and you have to answer it! Why are you blushing?” she waited like an eager little child.

Jake blushed bright red and looked away "i may have some feelings for you" he addmited and feel his face burning up under his blush "ok, alot of feelings" he said looking away and then he got up and moved a few chairs down and started to try and calm his blush down

Ember's eyes became wide, blinking rapidly she stared at Jake. “Why!?” She was confused, it's not like she was pretty or anything, hell she didn't even have normal hair. No guy has ever really showed an interest in her, she didn't care though. She would have rather gone through high school with her eyes and head in a cloud, daydreaming about things, then to actually worry about boys.

She watched as he moved down a few chairs, thinking about what to do, she looked around and then up. Staring at the ceiling she squinted. The windows seemed to be covered by something, but she didn't care. Looking back at Jake, she thought about what to say, try to figure out the best thing to say. Watching him she sighed soft and stood up, walking to him.

Poking his shoulder she sighed softly and then smiled. “You have a girl that loves you and you shouldn't have feelings for me.. cause I am nothing, not worth it and you should know that by now.” nodding she pulled some candy from her jacket's pocket and began to eat it.

Jake looked at her "you are worth it, atleast i see you more often, she is always dissapering... but... i suppose if you don't want me to then i wont love you then" he sighed and shook his head "now i just feel silly"

Ember saw how he was feeling, the look on his face gave it away. Sighing softly she sat down on the floor in front of him. “I never said I didn't want you too.. I just said you shouldn't doesn't mean you have to stop.” blinking rapidly she looked at the floor. “That sounds weird, anyway, cheer up. This dance is over in an hour or so and then we can get out of this crappy school!” smiling like a happy little child, she stood up and kissed his forehead quickly skipping on to the doors.

Stopping suddenly when a teacher stood in her way, Ember stared and then pouted. “bathroom?” she asked shyly and then sighed as she teacher shook his head. Groaning she walked onto the dance floor and took out her cell. Reading her missed texts she soon started to shiver again, that pain on her head came back. Taking a deep breath, she soon fell to the floor quietly as she breathed slowly, her head really was starting to kill her.

Jake blushed and watched her, when she fell to the floor his eyes widened with terror "no way" he gasped as he quickly got up and slowly picked her up, he walked up to the teacher "she needs to go to the medical room" he said as looked at her, he blushed but then shook his head "she is injured... and i can't see where"

Ember's eyes were closed and all she could hear was the music and a few murmurs. However soon she felt arms around her body as she was picked up into someone's arms. Slowly opening her eyes to the voice she stared. Soon after seeing Jake's blush, she turned her head so she was staring at his jacket. “head, I tried to open the front door to the school and fell back. Head hit the wall.” closing her eyes she softly rubbed her hair hoping that her hair wouldn't be ruined from this accident. “nurse's office is right down the hall, third door on the right, I’m there a lot.” she laughed softly and then let out a small breath. “stupid snow.”

Jake didn't noticed the fact about the snow, as soon as she said the probablem and where it was he rushed to the nurse's office, he nocked to door with his foot "i need some help please!" he called out to the person inside

Ember smacked her lips and soon was in the arms of one of the teachers. Soon on a bed, she curled up into a little ball and pointed to her head, the one area with some dried blood on it. Luckily it wasn't as bad as people might have thought. Wincing softly as the nurse tired her hair together to hold the little cut together she sighed softly and pouted. “Great, now my messy hair looks bad.” laughing softly she snatched a lollipop and then looked at Jake. “Nothing a little bit of candy and Advil can cure.” she smiled softly and offered him a lollipop as well. She didn't know how he was going to react, but she didn't want him to worry about her. Wondering about where Skye was she made her nose twitch and smiled.

Jake chuckled, she seemed less hurt then he though "ok then, so then you can rest here, i will wait with you" he to took the Lollipop and started to suck it "i don't have candy alot, it doesn't suit my style, im gothic not cute and cuddly" he chuckled as he continued to suck it

Ember laughed softly, wincing slightly but silently. She smiled and then shook her head. “Hms trues it doesn't suit your style, but then again. Every so often people should have a different day.” smiling she sat up and sat on the bed indian style. Humming softly to herself she then gasped. “what about Skye, how will she find you?”
