Ooh, Game Boy. Not even Game Boy Color. I remember barely being old enough to toddle around, playing Zelda like it was going out of style. Link's Awakening was the best game ever.

My best memories come from NES games...Zelda was my first favourite video game series. I played Mario too, but I really loved Zelda. Also loved playing Kung Fu and Double Dragon. Those games birthed my love for fighting games.

I think the best game I ever played was The Legend of Zelda: The Orcarina of Time. I thought it was just so well done. Maybe that and the Mario N64 game.

I loved Ocarina of Time. :D
We used to play Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, Battle Toads, Spyro, and Frogger all the time. I loved to watch my mom play Herc's Adventures, too. I was never that great at it, but it was hilarious to watch my mom talk back to the dialogue in that game.
Oh! And Ecco the Dolphin! And..um...Golden Eye, and Mario Kart...
I still love old arcade games, though. They're fantastic for killing time. Tetris, Pong, Pac Man...

Omg. I love that freaking Dolphin game. But I could NEVER win it! Grr!
I miss the original Sonic the hedgehog on Sega Lol. I compare my old Sega console to the PS3 and 360, and it was so much cooler physically.
ARgh, I can't remember the name of this other game I played on Sega, but it was like Quest? Or Medieval Quest? I'm not sure, but your char was a pretty little unicorn, and you would run around saving stuff and making yourself cool. The evil enemy was an old lady in a gingerbread house. Lol. Omg. I'm such a GUUURL. XD

lol I have no idea. I had some sort of My Little Pony game, actually. XD It sounds kinda like that, almost? I don't remember what the enemy was, but you had to go around and rescue all the other ponies who had been taken captive and save the pony world. ....And you got to customize your pony. XD
I miss Sega so much. It was my first game console. We got it to last a while, but eventually my dad said it was threw and got rid of it. Now they even have one in the Smithsonian! I FEEL SO OLD! MY CHILDHOOD IS IN A MUSEUM!

I say the old school megaman games... part one through eight are just so frigging awesome as they have very difficult boards and challenge you a lot. I also liked Kid Icarus, it was a very difficult game!! But the most frustrating game of all was Ghost and Goblins which was a game where Satan was the main villian of the game who has a gargoyle kidnapp Author the Knight's girlfriend and you have to go through several hellish boards to get to her and some are just extremely difficult to the point of extreme frustration. To add to the whole Ghost and Goblins frustration example, look it up on youtube and you will see a hillarious video of a gamer who really drags this game through the mud and shows just how absurdly difficult the game truly is.

Ghosts and Goblins was insane. If I remember correctly you also had to finish the game twice to actually complete it, and the second time through all of the enemies are tougher.
I think one of, if not the first, game I ever played was some sort of castle siege. I was so young at the time I don't even recall what type of computer it was, but the game itself was just launching catapults until you broke through the castle wall, then you gave the order to send your men in with a ladder to rescue the king inside. If you had enough men survive the siege you could rescue him, if not they all died and you failed. The screen was only black and green, and the men was just little green squares.
After that we had an Amiga, I remember two of the games I used to play on that: Bart vs The Space Mutants and the Captain Planet game. I never managed to complete either but I did get to the final levels of both. The Captain Planet game was really difficult, and even had super difficult optional missions in some of the levels. My favourite games though were probably Lemmings and Lemmings 2: The Tribes. Even at an early age I loved puzzle solving and figuring out the best way to save the most Lemmings on each level. Lemmings 2 was one of the first games I actually bought myself with money I'd saved up for months.

I really thought the fact that you had to play through all of the boards a second time in Ghosts and Goblins was so lame... they said that it was all an illusion created by the devil and that you have to play through the game a second time!?! I was so angry that I remember throwing the controller down on the floor and screamed my ass off and the whole way through the game the second time I remember how angry and how it was personal to me that I beat that stupid game. Then the game wished you a HAPPY END... Congratulation... It was supposed to be Congratulations, here is your happy ending. Japanese translations weren't all that great I guess back in the day and bugs and glitches gallore... hehehehheheheheeheheheeh
I remember the Game Genie which allowed you to cheat on any Nintendo game there was around but you had to constantly get new codes for the updated games and new ones that came out. I liked using it on Super Mario brothers -- the one they called the moon jump which allowed you to jump super duper high!! I haven't played any of the games you mentioned, but I'm sure that Lemmings must have been fun.. I do take that back though, I did play Bart versus the space mutants and that game was uber cool back in the day now!

I recently hooked up my SNES and borrowed some games that my friend found in his parents basement. I have been playing such classis as Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat, and FINAL FANTASY 3!!!!! which, aside from Chrono Trigger, and Zelda: A Link to the past (which are thankfully in my personal collection) is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE console game of ALL time. So I'm having a great time right now :)

I'm playing through Majora's Mask (LoZ) right now actually! I'm at the Stone Tower and, once again, I find myself scratching my head. But at least I never have to do that Goron racing again. Ugh. So frustrating. I love the game so much though. I think I'm going to go back and play Ocarina of Time once I beat MM too.
But System Shock, anyone? I haven't played it in years, but I got the achievment "Look at you Hacker" on Bioshock 2 and was giggling so much about it that some splicers killed me. xD I was sad there was no one to make a System Shock joke with at the time. It feels like no one actually knows what the game is.
I also really miss the first Doom. That game was so awesome.
